This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

I’m looking for a robot vacuum and mop. Does anyone have one they can recommend. There are so many to chose from!

We have an eufy and it’s been really good

RedBullAndYop · 07/10/2025 12:58

My kids have the kindle kids fire 10 pro tablets and both watch YouTube, play Roblox and go on times tables rock stars on it with no issues. Older versions were horrendously slow and couldn’t cope with Roblox

Does anyone recall if you get a refund if your item goes cheaper during prime events? Melissa and Doug Ice Cream just dropped again to 29.99

I got this one last week to replace a eufy, he's amazing! Can't comment on the mop function though.

Thanks all for the railcard tips, we burnt through all our Clubcard Vouchers over the summer holidays, I’ll check Trainpal.

@Fuckingfuckssake do you have a Monzo account? I pay £7 a month for their perks account and I get a free railcard, a weekly greggs treat and monthly cinema tickets so might be worth a look?

Hot Wheels remote control glowing monster truck Mega-Wrex is £26.99 for Prime Day (£55 at Argos).

SuitablyScolded · 07/10/2025 13:58

@anypossibleway I cannot fault this one, bought it three months ago, it hoovers, mops and empties itself on schedule, I never have to think about it. As with a lot of these discounted hoovers, make sure you can run it on 2.4ghz WiFi, most 5ghz networks will do both.

@User202242 do you have a link for that please? There used to be a range called Mighty Max for boys but not anymore, I just bought my boy a polly pocket last year but I think he'd love a Dino one.

Lots of musical Story Orchestra books down to around £6-7 on Amazon. Some around £12. Usual price about £15-17.

Thinking of getting 8 year old a keyboard but no idea on type, size, brand. Has anyone seen any good bargains or can recommended where to start please?

I'd ask on this thread - all very friendly and a few people who know their stuff on keyboards https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/extra_curricular_activities/5401991-autumn-winter-2025-music?page=3&reply=147645485

Thanks for the Haul tip - the foodbank I volunteer at is being asked for blankets and we don't have any yet so I've ordered a job lot to go straight to them 70% off and free delivery so I'm really happy with that.

The fire tablets (at least the kids ones) aren't android, you cant download from the playstore or watch YouTube (even kids) on them unless your jail break it.

We've had the kids fire tablets 2/3 years ago and honestly don't rate them (except the case they come with, they're brilliant). Theyre slow and clunky and the lack of android makes them useless for us now. This year ds is getting an android tablet, I found one with amazing specs for gaming/streaming for him for £120.

Would you comfortable sharing which one you have decided to purchase pease? I'm looking for my son, but have no idea where to start or what I'm even looking for. Thank you.

Cuwins · 07/10/2025 15:43

Hello! Does anyone know if Dryrobe does a pre-Christmas or Black Friday sale? I’d like to get one or similar for DS6 for Christmas. They’re quite steep at £110 currently…

and thank you to the poster who shared the Smiggle sale - I picked up some really good stocking gifts and a couple for the birthday parties stash. Really big discounts.

Daughter of a twitcher here - have you bought them alpaca wool for nesting boxes before? We got it for my dad last year and he was thrilled!

Fuckingfuckssake · 07/10/2025 16:16

@OrangutanCheeksthanks, I’ll check that out.

@ChippingSoda if it doesn't matter about the actual dry robe brand, last year I got two for DC from Gul. I can't see they are on offer at the moment but I have one from Rhino and the junior ones from there are on offer at the moment. £49.99 down from £89.99. My one is lovely and warm with a really soft lining.

Loulouli · 07/10/2025 16:39

Are the prime day offers only for one day - or will they be there as well tomorrow?

does anyone have a yoto player for older kids? My 8 year old asked me recently for a Toni box but I told her she was too old for it. I wonder would the yoto player to better?
