Thread 5 - the one where it's OCTOBER already!

This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

@NancyCarey i had an issue with my web page when ordering the glasses cloth and wanted to check it had gone through properly so I emailed them. They emailed straight back and checked the order for me. They also asked where I had heard about them as they have had an influx of orders! Good spot. Thanks so much for the recommendation!

Great! I can’t take credit tbh as someone posted about this last year - I just remembered about it now and shared.

here’s an example of one of the cloths I ordered last year though. The quality is really good I feel - especially for £2!

I ordered some of the bargain Les Nereides jewellery from TK Maxx… very happy with the necklace itself and great bargain (thanks to pp) but it just came in a small
plastic bag which wasn’t what I was expecting! Will have to buy something now to make it giftable. So just wanted to check if anyone else had ordered and got the same (lack of) packaging?

I wonder if anyone has any PJ advice! My friend is after some SKIMs dupes as a pressie! I am looking for the softest best quality for not the £130 price point lol! So far I've found M&S and I have a 20% off sparks offer but some reviews are saying they shrink! Any recommendations?

You know who's have some similar looking ones:

Morning all, could I ask if anyone can recommend a Book Book craft kit that I could do with my soon to be 9 year old (it would be for her birthday but as that's just before Christmas I felt I could ask here).

She listens well and is I to crafting so it doesn't matter if it's one for a slightly older age but ideally I'd like a recommendation if a brand as they aren't cheap and I don't want to end up with a rubbish one.

Well no matter what I try at sunshine bindary, the code SUPERSECONDS doesn't work. I tried yesterday and today. Sigh. It keeps saying my basket isn’t eligible, but everything was chosen from the super seconds sale bit and I've tried taking different things out.

Time to move on! I couldn't find any tote bags I especially liked anywhere as I am after some for gifts. Loved the sales though. Thanks to the original poster.

Have you added at least £10 worth of items? The code doesn't work if it's less than that

@GiraffeGlee we had a cheap personalised football from mitre as well.

Brilliant, thank you

Klutz are good imo- particularly enjoyed the puppy treat truck which is reduced to £10.41 on Amazon today.

also seen the Tosy flying disc- a light up frisbee - half price on Amazon so it’s now £18.99 - which is great. We have it and it’s been really great fun in the darker months.

Jinxjacobs · 05/10/2025 09:05

I don't think this has come up yet, but kindle fire 10 HD is half price at the moment, and there's an exchange deal with old devices, which gives you £10 voucher and 20% off. I received mine yesterday for £45.99.

Edited

Hi, do you have to wait after sending in your old device or are you able to get a code an apply it straight away? Just wondering how long I might otherwise be waiting x

Elphaba17 · 05/10/2025 11:00

Thanks for the heads up on the PayPal cashback, I rarely use it but this seems a no brainer. There is a referral scheme too so I’ve just added my link to the referral thread and I’m sure there are others too. But worth using a link if you’re signing up for the first time to take advantage of these offers.

Sorry I skipped over all the magnetic tile talk but I keep seeing them everywhere and think my 2 1/2 year old will love them.
Any recommendations please that aren't too expensive?

Thank you so much for the recommendation.....unfortunately I didn't notice an auto correct in my post and am looking for a book NOOK craft kit 😂

However I actually really like the book craft kit you shared and think she will enjoy that too so I'm off to purchase it!

But if anyone can recommend a BOOK NOOK craft kit i'd also appreciate it please!

I’ve actually managed to order some wax melts for free including p&p off one of the sites on super seconds!

Do you know which shop it was on there? I'm looking for wax melts for my mum. Thanks

Sorry to jump on your post. Do you have a link for the book kit? I can't seem to find it. Thanks

It's this:

https://amzn.eu/d/8mUHgqT

But oddly it was showing at £10.49 2 minutes ago and now showing as £12.99 for me! Very cute though.

Thanks so much. That is really cute. I want to get it for my dd but secretly I want it for me!

Yes, just in a plastic bag, but amazingly good value at 80%+ off, given they are perfect condition and a lot of them are current stock.

Ewock · 05/10/2025 11:51

Sorry meant again! I went down a rabbit hole of crafts and came across the plastic lace crafts which I remember I was obsessed with as a kid. This seems a good price.

The H/&M ones are nice. I’ve had the Marks ones and wouldn’t buy again as they shrank a lot!

WELCOME20 gives 20% off at Holy Grail Nails. You can also get starter packs with a topcoat that save money.

When I just checked out, after I paid it offered me a second selection pack I had already ordered at 30 % off which I declined. It then offered me 40% off the same pack, taking 5 pairs to £16.80

watchuswreckthemic · 05/10/2025 12:49

@PumpkinSpicedTeare buntys I’m sure I’ve got some at my mums- I’m visiting at the moment if you want me to check. Is it a specific year you are after?

MerylSqueak · 05/10/2025 12:56

Donald Russell are offering 25% off for new newsletter subscriptions plus there are some good offers on top. I got my Christmas meat plus a 3 for £15 and a sausage and bacon box at an offer price. The 25%came off everything. I couldn't get the TRIM100 offer to combine at all, in case anyone fancies trying. I didn't find any cashback offers either.
