Sorry, a request for help if anybody knows about Warhammer 40k?

My husband has recently been enjoying the books/lore and I know he used to paint miniatures when he was young, so I just had a brainwave to get him some to paint, but I’ve no clue about the world.

I've looked on vinted and can see sets called retributor squad/ space marines/ kairic acolytes etc but it means nothing to me 😳

does anybody know whether there’s an iconic set, some beloved characters, or if I can just pick any that look cool?

Hi, my husband says space marines are the iconic set, so would go for that. Nearly all of the lore is about space marines.

@NotAdultingToday- DH & DS1 (14) seem to spend a fortune in American Golf - if all else fails vouchers from there but they may have a Black Friday type sale?
DS also keep pinging me stripey golf shirts from Vinted and they also have retro golf ball bags (he bought himself a golf bag from Vinted which was £££ second hand but he had worked all summer)
he was obsessed with getting a Trump club cover from Temu - but I drew the line at that

Netflix merch shop also has some Happy Gilmore 2 bits in if that helps
