Other one seems to be filling up fast!

This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!
If you have any referral links then please post on this thread <a class="break-all" href="https://_[[//https//www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

If anyone sees any signed copies of Charlie mackesy’s new book PLEASEEEE could you let me know?! Everywhere I’ve tried it’s out of stock and only today realised there is signed copies when it gets realised on the 9th October!! ❤️

It may be worth giving these a call. They are hosting a talk with him next week which includes a book. Sometimes they have signed copies in store after events they run https://www.bookabookshop.co.uk/events/an-evening-with-charlie-mackesy-always-remember/

Thank you so much! ❤️ I will do this. I wish I could go to one of the book signings but I live 4/5 hours away from them! 😥

Does anyone know if roys boys ever do discount codes? My kids are desperate for pokemon slippers socks 😅

Notmynameactually · 01/10/2025 18:39

@zacsGranny the easy way to check if a pan works on induction is to see if it’s magnetic. It’s not impossible for an aluminium pan to have a steel base, but I wouldn’t take it for granted. I had to get rid of mine when I switched to induction.

Wonderbly books keep popping up on my fb feed, has anyone had one before? Do you recommend? Are there any discount codes?
thank you

We have the girl / boy who lost their name. And a sibling one. I think they are quite sweet and a nice keep sake. Both got their name one as a gift when they were born and we bought the sibling one when new baby came. Kids aren't massively fussed about them though!
There are often offers, possibly black Friday. There is a referral code for £15 off but not sure if I'm allowed to share that here?

This looks like a lovely christmas jigsaw with a festive shop. 1000 pieces and clementoni who make decent puzzles. £5.98 on amazon. I am very tempted, but not sure we will ever get round to it.

christmas puzzle

Sigh.....You have tempted me and I've succumbed! Didn't need to buy a second jigsaw puzzle, but this one is lovely. Thank you.

Montanna15 · 01/10/2025 20:31

Anybody know when John lewis normally have their christmas beauty cracker online ? It was really good last year. Treat from me to me 🙂

MaybeMrs · 01/10/2025 20:36

Sephora have 20% off on the app until 10pm.

MaverickSnoopy · 01/10/2025 20:38

Looking at Companies House American Candy Stores may be in financial difficulty.

The Director now in control has multiple companies, one of which was recently liquidated. He has also recently been appointed to a new company, that the previous Directors at ACS were, but are also no longer running. Creditors and capital doesn't look great.

Looking on the Shop app, it says they use Royal Mail Tracked 48 which should take 2-3 days. It's sufficiently vague enough for people to think their parcel might be en route. Companies will normally be a bit more specific than what's in their automated email. I'll be contacting my bank if I've not heard anything by the end of the week.

BerfyTigot · 01/10/2025 20:56

Ive just ordered that jigsaw puzzle too - bargain!

ChristmasJumperz · 01/10/2025 21:26

This Klutz learn to sew cute things set has been on my Amazon list a while and has dropped to £10.56 (was £17 when I added it). Says only 3 left in stock it. I can't bring myself to buy it as I know DD would love the cuteness but only make one thing then it would sit gathering dust and mocking me from the shelf about my bad choices 😂But for more persistent crafters it looks great! www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1338896016

Picking all your brains! I purchased rhe L'or barrista on the great offer rhat was posted on here. I'd like to buy a milk brother but no idea where to start. The one on the L'or website is nearly £80, which I can not justify spending at all. Has anyone got one they would recommend? Thanks

@Reastie new thread title suggestion: the one with the £80 milk brother 😁

Mexicocalling · 01/10/2025 21:37

Do any of you lovely people have any experience of Gravitrax Jr? My 4yr old nephew loves playing with my old wooden marble run when he comes to visit and I’d like to get him something similar. The click together ‘drainpipe’ type sets could work, but it would be lovely to get him a set that will grow with him and last a lifetime like my old one from the 80s has!
I’ve seen the Vtech ones but they look a bit flimsy and fiddly.

skkyelark · 01/10/2025 21:38

Morrisons have some good offers on Lego, the Duplo number train for half price (https://groceries.morrisons.com/products/lego-duplo-my-first-number-train/109168202) and this Botanicals set also half price (https://groceries.morrisons.com/products/lego-icons-botanical-10329/113574545), and a bunch of others 30% off.

Not on offer, but I am considering these for stockings if they're in stock next time I'm in the store: https://groceries.morrisons.com/products/one-for-fun-pull-back-go-donuts/113520723

Apologies @Tryonemoretime 🤣

A Brigerton game for £3 on amazon for any fans (says reduced from £4 90, but weirdly Waterstons are selling it for £26.99 according to playpennies so hopefully it will look decent).

Bridgerton game

Thank you. Bought one for my Brigerton mad daughter!

Snugglemonkey · 01/10/2025 22:03

Long shot I know, but does anyone have a discount code for the LFC store. I need to buy shirts and they are more expensive than I thought!

nicky2512 · 01/10/2025 22:05

Dd saw the new bow Sherpa dressing gown from oodie and would love that. Of course it’s £75 !!! Whilst some of the others are reduced. I’m wondering if there’s likely to be reductions between now and Christmas. Can anyone remember what they normally do?

We have the vtech marble ones and they are really sturdy and have fun features. A four year old would need some help to learn how to do it but it gives many years of use.

@nicky2512 last year, i nudged my husband to buy me oodie sherpa dressing gown end oct/early November, and I thought it was £30-40. So I'm waiting and hoping the good deal comes up again!

I have a huge amount of gravitrax, I got sucked in and kept buying more in the hope that they would build more creative runs so bought some for a few Christmasses. Can’t bear to get rid of it as it cost so much… My boys were 7 and 9 when I bought it and quickly lost interest even though they liked science (they are now 5 years older and have no interest whatsoever). I suggest you get screwball scramble, there’s no building required but it’s lots of fun and all my kids even the teens, love playing it (plus only one marble to keep track of so less dangerous imo)

As pp has said, aluminum is the way to go here @zacsGranny. I adore my le creusets which I inherited when they got too heavy for my gran.

She has these casserole pans now instead and they look just as lovely but are much lighter. They come in pretty colours and are a bit of a bargain at 36% off on Amazon at the moment - I’m glad I looked, I’ve ordered her another in a different size for Xmas.

Sorry @zacsGranny- Aluminum won’t work on induction. You need steel pans, I’d look at the ones specifically made for induction hobs eg made by aeg.
