Other one seems to be filling up fast!

This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

Hi, quick question rather than sharing a bargain (sorry!). I’m thinking about buying Outsmarted this year as the kids are at a better age for it. I remember last year lots of people bought it - did it go lower than £30?

It's currently on sale. There are 3 versions from the look of it, the basic is on at £19.99 now. I think the most expensive is £27. I was going to get it this year too, but the poster who replied to you wasn't impressed so now I'm wondering again!

TheGriffle · 30/09/2025 21:24

@buzzing is This close?

This is so close, thank you @TheGriffle but £20 😱😱😱

Thank you to the other posters too, I might go with the £3 one on Ali express and claim it was the closest I could find 😂

RainbowZebraWarrior · 01/10/2025 13:27

Just a quick note to say that Sainsbury's count up to Christmas is back so worth opting in via the Nectar app for extra points towards Christmas goodies!

buzzing · 01/10/2025 13:34

Update … I used google lens as suggested by a previous poster to look for the bracelet in the £20 Amazon link, and found the exact one on aliexpress for £4 something.

delighted, as will my daughter be, thank you all for your help.

Famousthehero · 01/10/2025 13:47

Just seen the Jurassic Jim fossil advents being advertised on Facebook if anybody wanted one (you reply to his post and he acknowledges you to confirm (if that’s still the case - we’re out of the Dino phase 🥲))

I bought outsmarted last year and my kids 13 and 9 love it. We've played it loads and got extra categories when they had an offer on.

ILoveCatsAndKittens · 01/10/2025 13:58

The fossil calendar has reminded me I need to get a dinosaur themed gift for a 10 year old boy. Any suggestions please?

I got the original one for 19.99 last year and we have played it a few times and absolutely love it. We don’t have any youngsters though, age 13 and upwards if that makes any difference but we do play it quite a bit and all enjoy it.

Mumto3thatsme · 01/10/2025 16:07

Wonderbly books keep popping up on my fb feed, has anyone had one before? Do you recommend? Are there any discount codes?
thank you

Sasha07 · 01/10/2025 16:09

Sorry, I probably should have said the ages of who has played Outsmarted, it was 2 adults and 2 or 3 16-19 year olds, we just found it so slow going but maybe it's just us then 😁 we also have 10 add on packs but it just didn't keep us all engaged or eager to play it again.

VeruccaSalty · 01/10/2025 16:20

Dang thanks for the Jurassic Jim reminded, I knew there was something else I had to remember today! Hope I get in one time

And we found outsmarted quite boring too. Too slow between questions with all the graphicy bits and one person can go on for ages so kids get bored as they don't even get to read out the questions. I thought it would be a fastest finger thing, which would be more fun and interactive

sillygoof · 01/10/2025 16:24

Sasha07 · 01/10/2025 12:15

@Yeknom just checked, i ordered it on the 29th November (Amazon) and it was £19.99 then. We don't rate it much though. From memory, if someone keeps getting the answer right, it stays their turn so everyone else was sitting bored. Just abit slow for us and we haven't played it since Christmas. Will probably only be played for the odd hour over this Christmas period this year too.

my husband saw on social media that they’re changing the app to prevent this exact thing. The game will still work if you’ve got it, cos it all goes through the app anyway, you might prefer it this year though.

I've just emailed them about my order and got a reply to say they have just shipped out a large amount of back orders and to be patient as they are trying to get all orders out. Maybe they genuinely are trying to catch up with orders? Hope so as would love to receive the stuff I ordered! :)

That’s an auto reply unfortunately 😫I’ve had the same one every time I’ve emailed and it’s been exactly the same each time.

I am happy to post my referral on the bargain thread, the books are lovely, you can bespoke as you wish, but really nice special gifts!

welshgirl666 · 01/10/2025 16:54

Oh that doesn't sound promising then. 😔 my bank said I need to show I've chased them up so at least I've done that and will hopefully get a refund from bank.

ITSSSSCHRISTMASSS · 01/10/2025 08:10

@Prettypinkponies you can put your postcode in on their website and find stockists close to you. I have a place within walking distance, the only thing is they don’t do the jellycat bags, my DDs like the official bags with theirs.

Thanks didn’t even think about local shops having them! We don’t about the dust bags here, they just end up shoved in a draw 😆

Does anyone have an Argos code for a £60 spend please?
I've used all my various & spare email addresses already 🥲

Sleeposaurus · 01/10/2025 17:35

This looks like a lovely christmas jigsaw with a festive shop. 1000 pieces and clementoni who make decent puzzles. £5.98 on amazon. I am very tempted, but not sure we will ever get round to it.
