Advent calendars for teenage boys

Hi, I have 3 DS (age 17, 16, & 3), and I am stuck on advent calendars for the older 2. I don’t have time to source individual items to make them one each, so looking for recommendations for the ready made ones.

They had Lynx ones last year which I could buy again if it comes to it, but I would prefer to get different ones this year.

Any suggestions gratefully received!

My teens are happy enough with lindt chocolate reindeer/bunny ones

Noodles/pringles?

Leeds2 · 23/09/2025 18:18

There are usually lots of tea/coffee/hot chocolate ones around if they drink those things.
Have seen Pork Scratchings calendars in previous years.
Bonne Maman Jam and Honey
I've also seen sock ones, but they were VERY expensive!

brightgreenpepper · 23/09/2025 18:50

I’ve reverted to basic chocolate ones now my kids are a bit older!

Someone on a prev Christmas thread mentioned Pipers crisps can be bought as a mixed case (you choose the flavour combo) of 24. You could tape/staple them to a poster-sized paper as a DIY advent, or clip them along a long ribbon.

pizzaHeart · 23/09/2025 18:54

Marshmallow one

Clearinguptheclutter · 23/09/2025 19:20

Standard choc ones for mine usually but this year they are sharing a Lego Star Wars one.

Gymbunny2025 · 23/09/2025 20:01

It’s a huge gap in the market imho. My son is pre teen but even for him it’s tricky. Last year I got him a football sticker one. I just feel bad that Dd gets a really nice one and he doesn’t

stample · 23/09/2025 20:08

Pringles
haribo
popcorn
pork scratchings
hot sauce
noodles
coffee
tea

MrsSkylerWhite · 23/09/2025 20:09

Our 22 year old still lives a Lego calendar 😁

Following for my 12 year old DS, I’ve got my DD a Sephora one and mentioned to my DS that he seems to have a lot of Lynx unused and he said he doesn’t like it anymore so that’s that idea gone then. Think I’m going to investigate the noodles ones as he loves ramen!

mcdog · 24/09/2025 12:19

Noodles would work for one of them definitely!

In the past I’ve tried various different brands that I thought ds would like, and then last year he said he would just prefer a chocolate one, so I’ve gone with one of the nicer Lindt ones and will do the same again this year. Dd has a beautiful one from candy kittens as she’s become vegan now.
I think they just liked having a sweet treat each morning, which is not the norm the rest of the year. Dd especially is moving away from plastic tat and things that just take up space or end up in the bin.

Gourmet Popcorn Advent Calendar 168g | Joe & Seph's Popcorn https://share.google/Qj2WiVt8cSmkQjoDf

I bought these for our DCs last year. I buy their popcorn bags at Christmas anyway, but hadn't had the calendars before. Both teens, 17 and 15, loved them.

Bonus, I got them right at the end of November when they were half price. They then messed up the delivery so gave me a refund on one. Kids loved them, I loved the price last year!

I bought my 13 year old the taskmaster one. We both love the tv show. It sets them a little puzzle.to solve each day to reveal the next window to open.

Littletreefrog · 25/09/2025 21:37

I know you said you didn't have time to source individual items but I just go to B&M and buy the 4 packs of chocolate bars, fruit pastels etc some multi packs of iced gems and party rings etc and put 25 of them into a christmasy box (also from B&M). The teens love it as they get something a bit more substantial to take to school/work. I know it doesn't help with counting down the days but they are teenagers they can work out how many days are left without an advent calendar.

Beamur · 25/09/2025 21:39

Taskmaster...

Cadenza12 · 25/09/2025 21:40

Bought my GS a Lynx one from boots. Its on offer at £40, it has socks too!

Passthecake30 · 25/09/2025 22:01

My 17yr old has had a peppa pig one for a couple of years, this year he’s gone for a paw patrol. 😀

mcdog · 27/09/2025 07:47

@Passthecake30I actually love this idea!! Wonder if there is a fireman Sam one…??

Card factory usually do the widest range of kinnerton ones. Mine is just doing it for a laugh, I’ve offered him other more mature ones but no, he has to have the ones he had when he was a toddler!

looks fab, did they arrive in time for start of December? Don't really want to pay 35!

I ordered them a few days before December, half price. They should have arrived on time but iirc there were 2 designs of calendar and I received an email after a couple of days apologising - they didnt have any of my order left, so were sending the other design and only charging for 1! They arrived on the 2nd or 3rd I think, but getting 2 calendars for the price of half of 1, the teens were happy to wait and eat 2 or 3 packets on the 1st day!

5foot5 · 06/10/2025 23:38

Does it have to be edible?

Exit - the people who do Escape Room puzzles - also do an advent calendar. You have 24 escape room type puzzles to solve to get the final reveal. I got one for adult DD a few years ago and she enjoyed it. She is in to escape rooms so I thought it was a safe bet.

DiscoBeat · 06/10/2025 23:55

DS17 works out at the gym every day and DS15 has just signed up too so this year we've got them My Protein calendars.
