Thread 3 - The one with the unhinged crab 🦀

1000 replies

Reastie · 14/09/2025 19:30

I certainly don't want an unhinged crab for Christmas Grin

This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

I ordered the Future Renew without knowing anything about it because I am such a bargain-hunting 🐑

I am glad to hear that people like it so hopefully it will work for me.

BananaWoman999 · 20/09/2025 12:46

I bought Future Renew in store with a No7 consultant and she advised 40+!

@CrimboPourLesKids - that was very sensible of you - thanks for the info!

I just bought the most expensive items - 🙈although, tbf, I did read some of the reviews first!

Thanks also to @Restlessinthenorth and @Justhereforthechristmasthreads

Terrys Chocolate Orange Baileys is on offer at Sainsbury’s down to £11. www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/baileys-x-terry’s-chocolate-orange-irish-cream-liqueur-17-vol-50cl

Mytribeof3 · 20/09/2025 13:12

My daughter (11) would like a few bracelets to stack. I’ve bought some from Estella Bartlett in the past which have been nice but need some smaller that will not be too loose on a child’s wrist. Can anyone recommend somewhere that does these please 🙏

Ooh I was going to ask if anyone has tried this, but I see it's new. I make my own Terry's chocolate orange liquer usually, but I might have to try this! Thanks

Knackerelli · 20/09/2025 13:20

Thanks to the poster who recommended the b&h ghastly potions bath set on sale at Boots. Collected today alongside a load of sale shower gels and soaps etc so that’s my nephew and work sorted!

hby9628 · 20/09/2025 13:21

@Famoustheherothanks for the football colouring book. Ordered to go with the posca pens I got for my DD. Perfect.

MrsMattSantos · 20/09/2025 13:57

@Mytribeof3 I got some beaded stretch bracelets last year from an Etsy seller that came in different sizes - the smallest was 15cm so that might work for your DD??
it was EmmaBDesignsShop on etsy

Can anyone link the referral board for the no7 referral code? Thanks

Ewock · 20/09/2025 14:05

Unbelievable deal on the boots no7 website. The build your own skincare bundles are usually £55. There is £20 off a £50 spend brining them down to £35. The future renew day cream I chose is £37 on its own! Total value of my bag was around £150 and I paid £35. Includec day cream, night cream, serum and cleanser. Plus a free face mask and a presentation pouch if you want to give as a Xmas gift. you are a new customer my code will knock you a £10 off on top of this. Total steal!

I've popped my referral code on the referral thread if anyone wants to take advantage!

Hiya can you link the referral board please for the no7 referral code? I can't seem to find it

Yalz · 20/09/2025 14:08

For Boots bundle buyers looking for the best bargains, some of the prices can be misleading. When you get to the night cream section, in Future Renew you can have 50 ml of Night Cream, normally £37.95, or 25ml of Night Serum, normally £39.95.

The serum looks to have the greatest saving. However, on the main Boots website, in addition to 25ml for £39.95, 50ml of Night Serum is £49.95, which proportionately would make 25ml just under £25.

(There are several offers on No7 at Boots, but I haven’t found one as good as this one on the No7beauty website)

Here’s the direct link again. You also want the BEAUTY20 code at checkout. Thank you again to @Restlessinthenorth for letting us know about the offer.

I've got from bohomoon, filtering to just show small ones. They have 3for 2 on at the minute but the deals seem to change quite often so a better one might come along. They also have mystery bags of 3 for £20 if she's not mega fussy but they might not be as co-ordinated as she'd like.

I wear a few Joma Jewellery bracelets that I stack, they do a children's range too so have smaller elastic.
There's loads of different designs to choose from and they come really nicely packaged too, you can get cracker shaped etc.

The referral discount doesn’t work in the bundle. But here is the referral thread https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7?page=26&reply=147266299

Can anyone find a good deal for Nike Pro shorts for a girl aged 9-10? £14 so far in Sports Dorect but none of that size in stock. Checked in store too.

RunningKatie · 20/09/2025 15:18

Could anyone recommend where to look for weighted blankets? It's for young teens, I've seen mixed reviews for OHS and not sure where else to look.
Thanks!

zacsGranny · 20/09/2025 15:21

My Unhinged Crabs have just arrived from Tik Tok and they seem to be fine and will do the job just as well as the more expensive ones. I'm quite happy with them, and they make a fun stocking filler.
Also collected my Asda Heated Throw which seems great and will a present for my 90 year old neighbour.

£11 here but only on two colours the rest are more expensive https://www.houseoffraser.co.uk/brand/nike/pro-shorts-junior-girls-478046#colcode=47804641

Lidl has them in the middle aisle at the moment

£12.99 for these Cat paw hand warmers

i live for electric hand warmers in the winter

I misread that as cat paw warmers. I’m always looking for interesting gifts for dcats but that’s probably a step to far!

@SuitablyScolded I always buy my swimsuits from Decathlon however I’ve just tried to link and and there’s a problem with the site. I swim 2-3 times a week and machine wash them (which I know I shouldn’t) and they still wear very well. I like their boyleg one piece tankini’s.

Looks pretty much identical to my “official” on from 10ish years ago (I think there was some discussion of the TikTok ones being cheap knock offs).
