Thread 3 - The one with the unhinged crab 🦀

Reastie · 14/09/2025 19:30

I certainly don't want an unhinged crab for Christmas Grin

This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

Just trying to make use of the fantastic No7 offer, but can’t see how to add my advantage card. Can anyone help? Thank you in advance

Advantage card doesn't work with this one!

Famousthehero · 20/09/2025 07:55

£12.99 for these Cat paw hand warmers

i live for electric hand warmers in the winter

Famousthehero · 20/09/2025 07:56

A lot of this series of Football colouring books are reduced - this one £3

fishfingersandchipsagain · 20/09/2025 08:02

@IlovePond No7 are usually pretty savvy about making sure their offers don’t stack. I’m surprised the £20 came off the £55 bundle TBH.

I got £2 account credit for filling in my profile, and that was applied to my order, so that’s worth doing.

There was an in basket offer which worked for eye cream for £10 instead of £28.

Other in-basket offers did not work (eg mascara for £10) - it let me choose and added the mascara, but didn’t discount it. However there was a separate BOGO offer on mascara so I used that instead. Half price cleanser offer didn’t work.

The £10 referral did not work.

I also tried the SKIN20 offer which is supposed to take 20% off recommendations if you go their skincare analysis. It did not work.

Quidco tracked immediately.

I paid with PayPal just in case it tracked for their 7% cashback on Boots, but it didn’t.

@Restlessinthenorth thank you for the no7 offer. Dh bought me a set every year for Christmas- he passed away in June so I have bought a set to pop under the tree from him x

IlovePond · 20/09/2025 08:31

Thanks @fishfingersandchipsagain - I knew I should have used Quidco rather than TCB 🙈

Next time I log on I will do my profile.

Has anyone seen any good bargains on plus size swimsuits? I need a new one for a centre parcs break in a few weeks and I feel like they should be on sale now. Lands End is my usual go too but the only one I really like isn't in my size.

Bon marche had some in the sale the other week, worth a look

Just wondering if anyone had ordered from Typo on their cottonon website, have found several gifts that are perfect for people but the reviews on trust pilot are very mixed

I ordered DD some pjs last month from Cottonon, first time I used them. I was pleased with what arrived. I have put them away for Christmas so no idea how they wash, but I was certainly happy with what I ordered.

fourelementary · 20/09/2025 09:05

@SuitablyScolded i found some good ones in the next sale by searching cup sizes… not next brands but sold by next.

Anyone got any good ideas for how to wrap tickets as a present for a 8 year old?

We’ve got him tickets to the Gladiators live tour (he’s going to lose his mind), but not sure how to present them. Think I’ve seen scratchcard options, but looking for what has gone down well.

We do this for tickets. Makes a nice memento and it’s cheap https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1425124444/?ref=share_ios_native_control

@LunaDeBallona I absolutely love 'Miss Sparrow' - their socks last for ages and are so snuggly. Perfect for dog walking so thanks for flagging the sale!

Thanks for all the great chocolate box suggestions. I never would've known about these brands without MN!

Boots currently has some very good offers on their White Collection range, including their Winter fragrance which is very similar to the White Company's version. Candles start from £3. White Collection

I have a 20% off Petit Fernand code if anyone would like it. I've already got school labels so have no need for it - happy for someone to make use of it!

BringMeTheBadgers · 20/09/2025 11:31

Thank you for the no7 offer, I seriously need a new skincare regime as my skin is looking bleurgh. I bought the lift and laminate, im in my late 30s and have never used aging products before 🫣

I added 2 mascaras from the clearance section to get free postage. One was 4.99 and the other £6.99

Now to not be lazy and actually use the products 😆

HoHoFuckingHo · 20/09/2025 11:31

Last year we presented tickets in those Christmas stacking boxs ( the ones that make Santa or a penguin) top box had the first clue, second box a bigger clue then the third box the tickets, hotel confirmation etc.

Another year we wrote out clues and cut them into squares like scrabble tiles for our DDs to figure them out and guess the gift, we spelt out 3 songs for the artist we were going to see.

You can buy scratch paper from Temu to make your own scratch card. I'd probs do some kind of fun clue/question scratch card thing to reveal the answer myself by printing some via via canva onto card (like 'To find out your Christmas present, correctly answer this simple question and scratch out the answer.' and have a not saying about the tickets behind it. I'd do it Gladiator-themed and put it in a bag with something like this

I think it is. My skin looks more soft-focus since I’ve been using it, I think 😉: a friend has commented. I rarely wear makeup, but always apply serum and moisturiser, plus sunscreen when outside on sunny days.

It’s targeted at people aged 60+, though, which I am. It might not suit those with younger skin.

Edited

I was looking at the ranges yesterday, it’s a great bargain but I wasn’t sure which range was for me and couldn’t see a description. Thanks for saying Future Renew is for over 60s as I think I would have bought it just as its most value. Which range is for mid thirties?

I believe Future Renew is for 40+? I've been using it since it's launched (last year??), it's really excellent, I can see noticeable results
