I certainly don't want an unhinged crab for Christmas Grin

This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

The Terry's chocolate orange baileys is also £11 for clubcard holders at Tesco. I've just Bern to a big Sainsbury's for some and they didn't stock it so I'll be trying Tesco tomorrow.

It's coming into stock next week in Sainsbury's, I think. Imminently, anyway.

Just wanted to say thanks to all. I got the clarins samples, some wooden toys from sports direct and a usborne sticker book on amazon. Haven't ordered from them, but I keep seeing ads for books2door.com. They seem to have massive discounts on children's books. Has anyone ordered from them before?

I’d proceed with caution if I were you. If you look on their FB page you might see some terrible reviews within the last couple of years but I think they said that they’ve had problems with a company based elsewhere, with the same name, and people ordering from one company but thinking they’re ordering from another. I’m not sure what’s actually going on, or whether it’s all resolved now, but make sure you’ve got the right site!

It was in my local Sainsburys today. Perhaps it depends on the store?

WilfredsPies · 20/09/2025 17:06

If anyone is after a decent Posca style paint pens, I’d recommend trying Sharpies acrylic paint pens instead. I’ve used both and have to say I far prefer the Sharpie brand. The paint goes straight on, no need for additional coats and there’s no shaking needed. George at Asda are currently selling a pack of 12 for £9.98, reduced from £20. The nibs are quite thick, so Posca is still better for highlighting and detailing but these are far better than the equivalent nib size in any other brand I’ve used.

Yeah, maybe on when they have the staff to get it onto the shop floor. It definitely wasn't showing as available for delivery this week when I checked.

ApiratesaysYarrr · 20/09/2025 17:07

I wish that M&S would release the items a few days before collection dates are released so that I can drool over them in advance and then order like a commando on the first day.

AuntieDen · 20/09/2025 17:25

superdrug has half price on a few Hugo Boss fragrances and CK1

also 3 for 2 on face/hair/foot masks which might be handy for stockings, and then 3 for 2 and some bogof on vitamins which might be handy given the amount of colds around at the moment!

Arregaithel · 20/09/2025 17:40

Just in case you may have missed @Thesmallbusinesssupporter has a thread running which has many unusual/different companies for your delectation

I just braved the rain and went back out to check Tesco who had plenty stock of the Baileys Terry Chocolate orange, but it was selling quickly. Got two. They are on the end of aisles and the offer is on until 2/10

It’s been mentioned before but I’ve just bought socks for stockings from the White Stuff sale. There’s lots of choice and this gift pack of 4 is only £6
man’s best friend socks

editing to say that pack is only available 7-9 shoe size

Thanks to restlessinthenorth for the No7 deal and fishfingersandchipsagain for pointing out filling in the profile for £2 account credit.

I haven’t been a fan of No7 skincare in the past but I’ve been intrigued by the future renew range so for £33 for a cleanser, serum and day and night creams I’ve given it a go.

You persuaded me...I've been out to Tesco to get the 3 bottles I wanted! #FOMO Xmas Grin

I get 4% of Boots with Airtime rewards. It works automatically (no need to click links) and the money is redeemed against your mobile phone bill.

LostMyRubySlippers · 20/09/2025 19:28

The Works have some of the little book advent calendars for £10, such as sticker dolly dressing, stitch & Minecraft. Also saw the mr man in Asda instore for just under £10.
Not a massive bargain but rrp is £20 & they are all more expensive on Amazon

watchuswreckthemic · 20/09/2025 19:29

Posted the other day but I’m going to stock up on these for the local toy appeals. You don’t get a doll but I think it’s a really nice gift for £3 plus a £7.50 Barbie.

In case anyone’s child loves Legami stationery, there are a few things on offer at Amazon at the moment which might make a good stocking filler. Both of my kids loved this stuff and there’s generally some great bits for boys from this range too - space themed erasable pens etc.

Cute mushroom eraser / sharpener £2.99
https://amzn.eu/d/dj9Awew

Kitty memo pad reduced to £3.77
https://amzn.eu/d/5oSnGtz

And my daughter loves this Panda desk organiser. (£12.99)
https://amzn.eu/d/2O144ce

There’s a wider range of Legami stuff generally available at Dobbies but that’s usually full price.

The prices for the sets of Legami erasable pens on Amazon are pretty good too, coming down to less than £2 per pen and they can be split up for multiple gifts. My nieces and nephews love them and I have to confess that I have a couple of the animal ones in my own bag as they are so cute.

The erasable pens are quite cool generally but if you don’t fancy cute pens in the office, the Frixxion ones are fab and my teen son now uses these for school.

They’re a bit more expensive but I’ve just ordered a pack of 5 from amazon for £7.20 which is quite cheap for these pens.
Again, they are “just pens” but there’s a bit of novelty value which teens may appreciate as a stocking filler. (Link below)

Greg The Sausage Roll, 'Santas Little Helper,' book is down to £2 on Amazon. Says only 3 left in stock (with more on the way) and is down from £7.99
I bought this for all my nieces and nephews after seeing it recommended here last year and was enjoyed all round.

Just a word of warning with those pens. Dont use them for school work or anything that you want to keep. Heat erases them.

Lesson learned a couple of years ago after putting the contents of the school bag on the radiator to dry out after getting wet.

I’ve heard that but we’ve had no mishaps here yet. I’m probably a bit more cautious because of this though!

but yes - this is good advice!

There's even an episode of The Inbestigators about it!
(an Australian kids series on Netflix my son mist have watched ten times through 🙃)

Thanks for the warning - I had been just about to give my DN one of those as she has started a college course she’s really excited about and I found a sweet one that said “dream big”. That could have gone wrong! Maybe I can still give it to her but tell her to use it for her journaling or something rather than school work!
