Thread 3 - The one with the unhinged crab 🦀

1000 replies

Reastie · 14/09/2025 19:30

I certainly don't want an unhinged crab for Christmas Grin

This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

Tried to use your code for No7 @Restlessinthenorth but unfortunately didn’t work :(

Thanks for linking. I didn’t need any face creams but I bought them anyway 🫣 😄

Unbelievable deal on the boots no7 website. The build your own skincare bundles are usually £55. There is £20 off a £50 spend brining them down to £35. The future renew day cream I chose is £37 on its own! Total value of my bag was around £150 and I paid £35. Includec day cream, night cream, serum and cleanser. Plus a free face mask and a presentation pouch if you want to give as a Xmas gift. you are a new customer my code will knock you a £10 off on top of this. Total steal!

I've popped my referral code on the referral thread if anyone wants to take advantage!

Thank you for sharing! I did get it to work by taking the men’s bits out. I couldn’t get the referral code to stack though unfortunately!

@Restlessinthenorth can you point me in the direction of your referral code please? 🙂

I found it...

Zippymonkey · 19/09/2025 21:53

Thank you @Restlessinthenorth - MIL sorted for Christmas 👍

Whatthecluckingcluck · 19/09/2025 21:58

I know I’ve mentioned Sassy Saints before, it’s a nail powder dip, yet they also now do the wraps
Anyway, if you know anybody who loves them, they are having a warehouse clearance sale and some of the powders are up to 80% off.
Ive just got 20+ colours for £80. They don’t have any of the liquids but they have linked previously to a product on Amazon that works with their powders.
Might be worth a look for older teens/ somebody who loves doing their nails. Xx

Super glad a few people have benefitted from the no7 deal! Doesn't matter about my referral code; just happy to share a really good bargain! I hardly ever find them!

Someone asked about future renew. I honestly love it.

SuitablyScolded · 19/09/2025 22:19

Has anyone seen any good bargains on plus size swimsuits? I need a new one for a centre parcs break in a few weeks and I feel like they should be on sale now. Lands End is my usual go too but the only one I really like isn't in my size.

Thank you
excellant deal and I use the renew range, brought one bundle for me and then a second order as a gift. 4% Quidco

LunaDeBallona · 19/09/2025 22:21

These are not cheap cheap - however, they are really nice quality.
The sale section isn’t bad- some bargains to be had.
My autistic daughter can only wear bamboo socks and these are her favourite. I used to buy them at £8.99 a pair from the local garden center - looked them up online and they were having a mega sale (might have been just before Xmas last year actually) when I was picking up socks for £3.99.
Ialso highly recommend the gloves -esp the ones with the fur on- I have about 6 pairs in different colours. The yellow ones really pop with a black winter coat.
Thanks @Reastie for these threads. I spend a fortune but with the concept of ‘girl maths’ I save a fortune too…….

Thanks to whoever gave the heads up on Boot Buddies in Aldi. DH got one today - wee bargain at £8.

@LunaDeBallona its Deans shortbread I think

Anyone got any good ideas for how to wrap tickets as a present for a 8 year old?

We’ve got him tickets to the Gladiators live tour (he’s going to lose his mind), but not sure how to present them. Think I’ve seen scratchcard options, but looking for what has gone down well.

Last year we presented tickets in those Christmas stacking boxs ( the ones that make Santa or a penguin) top box had the first clue, second box a bigger clue then the third box the tickets, hotel confirmation etc.

Another year we wrote out clues and cut them into squares like scrabble tiles for our DDs to figure them out and guess the gift, we spelt out 3 songs for the artist we were going to see.

Print a paper ticket and put it in a small wrapped box. Put that in a bigger wrapped box, then in a bigger wrapped box etc. Like a Russain doll that he has to unwrap each layer. Assuming he wont get excited at the giant box!

A treasure hunt always goes down well. Make clues until he finds the tickets.

Or create an escape room box type puzzle.

Last year we gave our daughter concert tickets. We wrapped her a band tshirt and then just said "we thought you'd like to wear it when we go and see them". It took her a minute but it was a lot if fun seeing her brain working out what we meant.

It's Dean's shortbread. I'm still working my way through it 😊

hugsandpugs · 19/09/2025 23:45

Just had an amazing deal via boots!

Jean Paul Gaultier le beau aftershave is currently £44 on offer (usually around £74).

This alongside my advantage card offers -

10% off when spending £25 or more meant I got £4.40 off

Found a voucher code online for 5% off so got another £1.83 off

Two other advantage card offers mean I’ll get £8.70 back in points.

Then I went through PayPal using my debit card and activated their offers which will give me 10% back! Around £4.

Also my debit card is linked to airtime rewards so I should get some cashback there too! 🤞

With all this in mind I would have got the aftershave for £25.07 😅👌❤️

sillygoof · 19/09/2025 21:48

Is the future renew any good?

I think it is. My skin looks more soft-focus since I’ve been using it, I think 😉: a friend has commented. I rarely wear makeup, but always apply serum and moisturiser, plus sunscreen when outside on sunny days.

It’s targeted at people aged 60+, though, which I am. It might not suit those with younger skin.

hugsandpugs · 20/09/2025 00:15

Lloyds pharmacy have free delivery all weekend with the code FREEDEL

Loads of perfumes/aftershaves on offer!

IlovePond · 20/09/2025 00:25

Just a thought on the Dean’s shortbread in case they do the offer again:

I ended up with two orders. Several of my tins arrived damaged so weren’t really suitable for gifting. We also found all the plain shortbread very dry and not particularly nice tasting. However, the chocolate, apple and strawberry(?) flavoured shortbread varieties were very nice. My friend liked the savoury bites, but I didn’t.

I have repurposed one tin for tea bags and kept one of the round Xmas ones as a decoration. I don’t really know what to do with the other pretty and undamaged ones - too nice to throw away, but they are taking up space!

sssp · 20/09/2025 00:38

Just trying to make use of the fantastic No7 offer, but can’t see how to add my advantage card. Can anyone help? Thank you in advance

Yalz · 20/09/2025 00:45

I’m not sure the Advantage Card works on no7beauty dot co dot uk. It might only be on the ordinary boots dot com one.

Thank you just did some of the above with the boss aftershave which was already on offer. Hopefully the points / cash back is tracked 🤗

Completely agree - I love these socks!

Rose785 · 20/09/2025 07:07

It's very well made and the pockets are huge!
I will try and add the photos i took so you can see 'real life pics'

They currently have 10% off but ends soon and i missed this offer but got the £10 off when you spend £30 and I got cash back through TCB

That’s very nice @Rose785

I have ordered the no7 bundle, (even though the last thing I need is even more moisturiser in the house!) Thanks to the OP for flagging up the deal.

I was a new customer but I couldn’t see how to get 20% off my first order but £35 for four full size items was very good value. I forgot about trying to use@Restlessinthenorth’s
referral code.

Did anyone manage to get an additional discount on top of the bundle for £35?

I’m asking as I want to tell my friend about the deal and if I’ve missed out on a reduction, I don’t want her to do the same.

I went through TCB but it hasn’t tracked, (should have used Quidco).
