5lbs on overnight apparently for me 🙈

I can’t really see the point in making yourself feel miserable about a short period of celebration and feasting, over the number on a scale.

UpUpUpU · 27/12/2024 09:53

I did and it was actually ok! Only 0.6kg so I cannot complain.

I havent gone wild though, just eaten as normal with a few extra treats thrown in.

RosesAndHellebores · 27/12/2024 09:57

Yes. No change. But I did go easy.

Pistolpunk · 27/12/2024 10:16

No my size 12 still fits and not worried about a bit of weight put on as it's still xmas until new year 💃

FiveTreeHill · 27/12/2024 10:18

No because its completely pointless

You haven't gained 5lbs overnight. You've eaten a lot and probably retained water and shit. Weighing yourself today tells you absolutely nothing as to how much fat you may or may not have gained

Parker231 · 27/12/2024 10:18

No change although I have been skiing each day so burnt off any excess calories.

Pinkissmart · 27/12/2024 10:19

Oh ffs

what they said ⬆️

Anonym00se · 27/12/2024 10:20

I’ve gained 7lbs this week, though I did start eating voraciously around the 21st! I’ll give myself two more days to get through the cheese before I get back on the horse.

Snackpocket · 27/12/2024 10:22

Why would you?!

NotmySundaybest · 27/12/2024 10:26

Interesting how much water weight can show

Actually I did weigh myself today and I’m the lightest I’ve been since my wedding day 22 years ago.

Not that I’m happy about it, I’ve had some major gallbladder flare ups since October meaning I’ve hardly been able to eat anything so have lost nearly 3 stone.
Christmas this year has not been fun.

Just waiting for the date of my op so I can finally get back to normal. As soon as I can, I’m having Christmas Day the second, and eating what I like. Can’t wait.

waitingforautumn · 27/12/2024 10:32

Whatever you gain overnight is water retention and food that is still sitting in your stomach! Many Christmases ago id have agonised over that scale number the morning after. Never again. Funnily enough now I don't care about my weight I don't find myself gorging anymore either. Give yourself permission to eat whatever you fancy over the festive period, you'll level out again when life is back to normal :)

Muchtoomuchtodo · 27/12/2024 10:32

I wanted to weigh myself after our AI holiday in October but the scales need a new battery.

I still haven’t replaced the battery so I’m still none the wiser!

On the plus side my jeans still fit comfortably so it can’t be too bad 🤞🏻

Sunnyside4 · 27/12/2024 10:46

Yes, no change. We have treats and different foods, but don't tend to overeat. Have been going for walks and continuing with a few exercises at home which helps.

DelightfulDelia1674 · 27/12/2024 10:47

I've been ill since Christmas Eve, so have lost 5lbs due to eating one small meal a day. Fully expecting to put that back on plus more once I get my appetite back.

Lurkingandlearning · 27/12/2024 11:02

Yep. Wish I’d read @MidnightPatrol post before and not bothered 🥺

PortiaWithNoBreaks · 27/12/2024 11:10

You haven’t gained 5lbs of fat overnight. You’d have to eat something like 15000+ calories over your maintenance calories yesterday.

WorriedRelative · 27/12/2024 11:13

Yep, weigh the same today as on Christmas eve, and the few days before.

VeryStressedMum · 27/12/2024 11:14

It's not fat though is it unless you've been eating thousands and thousands of calories over what you need

turkeybroth · 27/12/2024 12:29

@TulipTuesday same here. Gallbladder problems but I have lost almost 7 stone since last year which I am happy about as I was definitely too big! Have cut out lots of foods over that time so didn't find Christmas especially hard as just used to my eating plan now. Awaiting op date but would like another half stone off by then if possible. I have put on 1lb this week but not worried as just natural fluctuation Smile
@OP agree with others you won't have gained a genuine 5lbs it'll be bloating most likely. Weigh once a week for more accurate gauging

toomanydicksonthedancefloor1 · 27/12/2024 16:35

I did and I have lost 2lb in a week. I'm not happy about this as I don't want to lose weight and my body composition is now a higher percentage of fat and less muscle than normal, so I've lost some muscle gain. I normally exercise 5 days a week and I haven't exercised for a week. Back on it tonight though, getting the weights out now!

Shabba2025 · 27/12/2024 17:08

My resting heart rate has gone up by 8 points, so that's definitely huge weight gain!

Goldenmemories · 27/12/2024 17:15

I made the mistake of trying on bras in m&s fitting room today 😳omg 🐷

DarkDarkNight · 27/12/2024 17:16

Don’t worry, it’s just water retention. Theres no way you have put 5 lbs on in that time! To lose a pound you have to be in a deficit of 3500 calories, you’d have to put away an impossible amount of food to gain 5 lbs.
