Evening!

I'm tired after today, but the buffet was a success. Tomorrow it's dinner!

Everyone seems to love their gifts, which is always good. 😊 Bed soon as it's all go again from the morning!

Nice number symmetry 😃

DH and I are relaxing he.s in the sun I am in part shade as I don't want to turn into a crocodile handbag and I have skin like a peach which burns easily

TheWoollybacksWife · 07/04/2025 18:57

I'm having a smug moment and a large glass of wine as a reward after cleaning the bathrooms this afternoon. Following a FB tip I have managed to get the toilet seats looking pristine plus I got DH involved in sorting out books that DS had outgrown (a long time ago) and we have sold some, so winning all around.

Shaping up to be another gorgeous day today.

I'm off to the gym, then the tip, then planning to wallpaper the guest room......... I'm a bit scared. You may not hear from me for days as I might be stuck to the wall.

Bloody B&Q didn't put the sandpaper block in the delivery though so I'll have to dig out some sandpaper first.

NoWordForFluffy · 08/04/2025 07:41

Morning!

Woolly, I need to try your tip, as I too have DWH-installed porous loo seats (who on earth designed such an abomination?). You definitely deserved the wine!

It's chilly this morning, but set to be warm later. It's nice and sunny though.

I'm on the way to the office on the train. Lots of LOUD blokes on here talking about dull shit...would be nice if they could talk more quietly!

Good luck with the papering, Magnolia. Step too far for me. I'm the painter!

Morning. We’re due another lovely day here so the washing is out (of course) 😂
I have about a third of a load left but will strip beds later and chuck it on to be ready for the morning.

I’m the kind of decorator that MN hates. I have lots of ideas but I don’t generally do the work. Blush
FIL and DH paint, none of us would attempt wallpaper (but we only have a very small
amount of that anyway) and if anything else is needed we rope in my dad 😂

LO is ill again so we’ve abandoned playgroup today. Right now it’s taken me most of the morning to convince them to eat something (banana) and it’s all been interspersed with long quiet cuddles.

I think our only outing today is going to be to the library to pick some new bedtime books. I can’t reread the ones we’ve got here any more!

Tomorrow we'll be into the two hundred and fifties 😊
I might something festive on my travels a couple of years ago we went past a Murano glass shop they had some Christmas decorations but no idea how ££ .

Lunch beckons - 'ti's a tough life !

Magnoliasunrise · 09/04/2025 13:50

70 are you off on your cruise for Easter?

I spent yesterday wallpapering. It was hilarious, I was absolutely covered in the paste. I chose "paste the wall" rather than paste the paper as it looked easier. Once I got into the swing of it it was fine but there was a lot of swearing at first. Especially after I got 3 drops up then had to feed the DC lunch and when I went back one of the drops had fallen off the wall 😂Later I took DD to get ears pierced and in the shop I realised I had a massive chunk of dried adhesive paste stuck to my hair.

I was pissed off with B&Q though. My order was missing my sanding blocks and I've just phoned customer services and they basically couldn't care less. She seemed baffled that I wanted a refund for items that they didn't send. Ended up being quite rude to me. So thats B&Q off my christmas card list.

Yes we're on the cruise Magnolia it is so far very relaxing , busy day tomorrow lots of walking and an early start
The formal nights are good, chance to dress up (black dress/ sequins type) . On casual dining nights I still wear a nice frock or top/ trousers

The wallpaper is lovely, I can only buy very small repeated patterns as our house has no straight walls and DH isn't a decorating fan. Usually I chose and collect the paper/paint etc and he decorates while trying to keep the female cat away from fresh paint . She has sported a Pepe le Phew still stripe before 🙄

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 10/04/2025 08:51

Style stripe ( no edit on this pesky device)

NoWordForFluffy · 10/04/2025 09:43

Ha, FluffyDog dipped / rubbed the tip of his tail in paint once! Clearly trying to look more fox-like with a white tip. 🦊 🤣

Enjoy your cruise, 70!

Sounds lovely 70, have a fab time. Are you visiting different cities or staying on the boat?

OMG dogs and cats with fresh paint 😬It was bad enough with wallpaper adhesive.

I'll be painting next but I previously painted the walls midnight blue (too dark) so now have the herculean task of covering it. It will have to be undercoat then 2 layers I think to get it to the cream or light pink or pale yellow depending on what i choose.

NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 11/04/2025 01:41

258 Awake as LO woke themselves up by headbutting their bedframe 😳 They are no asleep so hopefully I’ll be able to nod off again soon too.

Lovely wallpaper magnolia

70 one of my favourite parts of a cruise is being able to dress up in the evenings!
Hope you're having a lovely time.

I've never had a dog in paint but my mums house still has paw prints in the concrete path in the back garden from when my dad laid it, sat down and our lovely old family dog walked straight through it to come and sit next to him. It’s quite sweet to look at now (that lovely ddog has been gone 10 years).

GrannyWeatherwaxsBroomstick · 11/04/2025 07:43

Lovely wallpaper @Magnoliasunrise we are decorating at the moment but I live in a house of males so I don't get flower paper

We are on the way to France I think ( my geography is rubbish , my spoken French isn't much better though) DH books it all and watches the YouTube videos to find out as much as he can. He enjoys the planning part.

I have threatened to sing karaoke at some point - well most of the audience will be a bit sozzled so they won't be too judgey .

Magnoliasunrise · 13/04/2025 07:44

Have a fabulous time 70, and you must definitely do karaoke, let us know how you get on.

I dropped DS off at the Eurostar at stupid o'clock this morning, he's off on a school sports trip.

Will do my Easter tree today and then it's the boat race this afternoon so I'll have a wander down to watch that. Hopefully none of them will get EColi again.

NoWordForFluffy · 13/04/2025 13:02

Afternoon!

We had a small amount of rain overnight. Nothing to write home about though. Definitely not enough to form any puddles for the dog to drink from!

It's lovely now, but not forecast to last.

I need a karaoke update, 70! Did you? And if so, what did you sing?!

I need to do some cleaning later, but as I'm off work next week, there's no rush to get it done over the weekend!

OP posts:
70isaLimitNotaTarget · 13/04/2025 20:18

Not done karaoke yet , I'm still plucking up courage

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 14/04/2025 12:23

255

Not in France ( I told you my geography was rubbish) we're in Spain .
In the rain.

Like Eliza Doolittle : " The Rain In Spain" ( falls mainly where it is most inconvenient)

Magnoliasunrise · 14/04/2025 13:30

70 I am cracking up that you're in Spain not France.

Maybe you can sing "The Rain in Spain" for karaoke?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 15/04/2025 11:37

Really choppy overnight , and these cabins ( sorry : Staterooms) are SO noisy !

Not other-people-being-noisy but that clattering and clicking of everything round about .
It sometimes sounds like someone is walking round the room !

You get used to it ,sort of soothing white noise after a while 😄

NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 15/04/2025 12:58

I always slept amazingly on cruises 70 - I definitely find the sound like white noise (I'm the same on aeroplanes) Blush
Also, I'm with you on the terrible geography (once confidently told my parents we were in Croatia when we were in Bosnia 😂).

We had a big, busy day yesterday so are doing more quiet chilled things today. Have been to the garden centre looking for a tree for a pot I have. Home for lunch and a film.
Will go to Sainsbury's later as we need a few bits and may go out for tea on the way home.

I also need to get a wash on and clean the downstairs loo.

Lastly, I need to crochet a soft toy for a friends newborn (she's in labour today, 2 weeks early) 😳
