Anyone relying on Morrisons today?

GetDownkeith · 23/12/2024 09:42

Morrisons are having technical issues today so more card offers not going through increasing at till prices. My click and collect is on hold until they get it sorted. Seeing some pissed off customers on social media.
I know it’s not their fault but man what a day for it to happen can’t go anywhere until I can go and get my shopping.
DD works at our local one and was complaining she was on late tonight think she is very grateful now. There will be lots of angry customers today.

I’m planning on going later today so hope it’s sorted by this afternoon.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 23/12/2024 09:46

I have a delivery supposedly coming later but it hasn't been processed and I am getting slightly concerned I will have to go out this evening.

DeepLimeBird · 23/12/2024 09:47

Oh I was going to nip in after work this afternoon for some bits and pieces, hopefully all will be fixed by then

IDareSay · 23/12/2024 09:48

What!
I have a Morrisons click and collect later and my Ocado delivery van has broken down and is currently awaiting recovery. At this point it will be beans on toast for Christmas dinner Xmas Shock

RiskyReels · 23/12/2024 09:51

Just been to do our big shop in store and honestly it was a delight. A member of staff explained to those entering the store that the member price discounts weren't working but the difference would be credited to More cards as points when things are fixed.

Loads of staff, shelves well stocked, not too busy, hardly any queue at the checkout, patient smily customers and super friendly helpful staff.

I was dreading it after failing to get an online delivery slot with my usual Tesco. For those on a strict budget depending on the discounts at till today, best to go to a different supermarket but if you're willing to wait for a refund in the form of points later, I was very pleasantly surprised at the experience this morning!

RiskyReels · 23/12/2024 09:52

I hope they sort the deliveries/ click and collect soon though, sorry for those who are waiting! 😔

KitsyWitsy · 23/12/2024 09:55

I have an order via Amazon booked for this afternoon.

Oh no!! I hope you get it all delivered.
I am just hoping it all gets sorted and they don’t end up cancelling orders completely.
I saw on facebook some people were already through the checkout with shopping bagged before they were told.

I’m not sure how they are going to credit the more cards if it’s the more system that is down.
it’s a shame for this that have been saving the £5 vouchers. I have £65 in vouchers on my card just now, our next nearest supermarket which has a 2 hourly bus to it is 10 miles away so not so easy for some people locally I’d imagine.

Thankfully if I need to go and do my shop elsewhere I can and am not relying on the save £5 vouchers they are just a nice to have.

I have a click and collect order for later.
Will I be told if I'm affected does anyone know?

MoonWoman69 · 23/12/2024 10:01

We hit our Morrisons at 8am this morning and was told the same at checkout.
So long as it goes on the More card when it's sorted, I'm not fussed!
Again, it was a pleasant experience here too! In and out in 45 mins! Glad I did it today and not tomorrow!!!
Merry festive season one and all! 🌲

LoopyGremlin · 23/12/2024 10:04

We were there this morning at 7am. If you keep the receipt they will honour more card prices and points boosters etc by adding the value to your points once it's fixed. I felt very sorry for the staff as it's not what they need today 😢

Pumpkinseason3 · 23/12/2024 10:07

Absolute nightmare for the poor staff 😓

And awful for anyone who’s been saving up their points and are relying on that covering the cost of their shopping. Happened to a family member first thing this morning who wasn’t made aware of the issue until she was at the checkout unfortunately.

I have just had an email from them:

"We are really sorry, we are currently experiencing issues with our Wifi in our stores, which is causing some delays in our stores.
Please await the email alert to inform that your order is ready for collection before heading to store, to avoid any further inconvenience.
We're sorry again for the delay."

MaxDB · 23/12/2024 10:12

Delivery delayed, payment not taken. Becoming very nervous! I did at least get an email telling me that, though.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 23/12/2024 10:15

My daughter works in a local Morrisons and she says there are people abandoning trollies everywhere and getting cross at them.

GlacindaTheTroll · 23/12/2024 10:30

The CrowdStrike debacle earlier this year started with some difficulties with some cards.

But I hope no computer firms are installing upgrades this close to Christmas.

I really hope it's not the start of any form of cyber attack (government warned in November that Russia both capable and ready)

twinkletoesimnot · 23/12/2024 10:33

Thanks @IDareSay
Just received that too.

Not cancelled- yet ...

spuddy4 · 23/12/2024 10:35

My friend just text me and said her store is back up and running properly now but they've had a terrible morning. I feel for her because it could happen to any of us in retail and this is expected to be the busiest trading day.

Me too!
one of the managers called from my local store to make sure I had the email and not to go until I had my confirmation that is was ready. She said it’s been madness.
as I said we don’t have another local supermarket for miles so this one is always mega busy anyway and the staff are so lovely I hope they are t getting abuse for this.

They have been offering wine and chocolates to customers as way of an apology.

Just had email to say my order is ready now. Sending DH and I'll wait here in case Ocado turn up!

SomethingWycked · 23/12/2024 11:32

My parents received their Morrisons order last night with about 8 substitutions on an almost £200 order & correctly discounted prices.

I've received mine this morning within the hour timeslot despite getting an email to say it would be delayed. A few substitutions but correctly discounted for the more card prices. So hopefully everyone will get their orders as placed 🤞

christmasgeek · 23/12/2024 11:52

Our click & collect slot (10-10.30) went ahead as normal but staff were saying it had been a terrible morning! I then went in to do some shopping afterwards for bread (I like to choose my own) and more prices were going through. The only thing that hasn't is my Turkey from my click & collect order, but I'm not going to contact them about it today, I suspect they are having a terrible time of it!

The supermarket says loyalty card and click and collect orders are mostly affected.

"If More Card prices are not registering, we will apply a 10% discount to the customer's entire shop," a Morrisons spokesperson said.

They added that some home deliveries may be arriving late today, and that click and collect customers should wait for an email before going to the stores.
