I get £30. It's better than nothing and I'm grateful 🙏 usually get wine for Christmas with it.

We got nothing.

Oh actually we got an IT security phishing email exercise wishing us a merry Christmas and inviting us to click on a link to get our gift card...

😡

In previous years we've had a party laid on or a per head budget (usually given to managers) to contribute towards going out for a lunch (usually about £10-20)

ItWasntMyFault · 20/12/2024 08:02

We usually get between £600 and £800 but not until April.

Fabulouslyunfabulous · 20/12/2024 08:03

Another NHS employee but my team is lovely. We get a little bag of chocolates and a decoration for the tree which comes out of the managers own pocket. He’s really kind.

dizzydizzydizzy · 20/12/2024 08:03

£20

Catapaulting · 20/12/2024 08:03

Nothing. Not getting a pay rise again this year either

Wigtopia · 20/12/2024 08:03

Plump82 · 20/12/2024 02:34

Absolutely nothing! Not even a bottle of wine.

Same 🤭

Dontcallmescarface · 20/12/2024 08:04

We get our bonus in August and for Christmas we got 2 bottles of wine (1 red,1 white), a hamper and a £100 Love to Shop gift card.

Jowak1 · 20/12/2024 08:06

Work for a Council so no bonus

ttcat37 · 20/12/2024 08:06

No bonus but they did restock the black biros this week! What a time to be alive!! Merry Christmas!!

QueSyrahSyrah · 20/12/2024 08:06

Yes but at end of financial year which is end of October, and amount is dependent on how the business has done. For Christmas my boss bought me a funny cat calendar (which he's got spot on to be fair, very good pick).

fanaticalfairy · 20/12/2024 08:07

We get to leave at 3 instead of 5 on Christmas Eve... I less Christmas Eve is a Friday, then it's a normal day.

TempuraCustard · 20/12/2024 08:07

Wine is put of fashion as a bonus now. It's exclusionary as a lot of people don't drink

Thewrongdoor · 20/12/2024 08:08

No, nothing.

SerenityNowSerenityNow · 20/12/2024 08:10

No bonus but my boss bought me a bottle of wine.

However, I finished work on Wednesday and don't go back until 6th January. I've only used 4 days annual leave as we get the Christmas closure for 'free'.

UndeniablyGenX · 20/12/2024 08:11

Any bonus is paid at the end of the financial year; we have been told the company is on track to pay one this year, but not how much. We get a small contribution towards a Christmas event. I'm not complaining - we are lucky to get anything!

watchuswreckthemic · 20/12/2024 08:16

Employees where I work get a £30 gift card and managers tend to organise some discretionary leave. It's a very lovely organisation and people often bake for each other or give wine/ small gifts.
Many people don't celebrate but enjoy that we aren't open for the bank holidays and most people can usually book time off.

stuffnthings · 20/12/2024 08:18

Zilch, very large multinational conglomerate.

ReformMyArse · 20/12/2024 08:24

NHS so no bonus. Our in house charity contributes towards the Christmas party and team suppers and £20 per staff member- team managers buy gifts/vouchers and distribute. Nice gestures but am envious of people who get big cash bonuses.

CliptyClop · 20/12/2024 08:31

£7,000

PepperoniPizzas · 20/12/2024 08:32

£30 but it can only be spent where I work.

CatAteMyDinner · 20/12/2024 08:33

We get a discretionary extra day of leave - so it's not written into contracts but we usually get one. Charity sector.

One place I worked years ago gave people choice of £100 bonus or Christmas party. We had the party.

I had a £500 bonus in covid year, everyone got it even if furloughed (I never was). That was really nice after a shitty year.

Dandylione · 20/12/2024 08:34

CliptyClop · 20/12/2024 08:31

£7,000

This is unusual - does everyone get the same? Normally it would be a percentage when you're getting a large amount.

TheCompactPussycat · 20/12/2024 08:36

I work for a university, so no. We had a Christmas meal though and will finish early today.

Dontcallmescarface · 20/12/2024 08:38

We get a form to fill out at the beginning of December asking us which drinks we would prefer. There is an option for non-alcoholic drinks so nobody is left out.

JaninaDuszejko · 20/12/2024 08:40

The thread, as usual, is full of public sector workers saying they don't get a bonus. What they are missing is that bonuses aren't all that, they are just a cost efficient way for a company to pay you as a one off with no long term commitment.

Here's your choice: a 5 % bonus that is not pensionable this year or an 4 % salary increase. Which is better?
