Roll up! Frazzled, disorganised people welcome over here!

Every bloody year I promise myself I'll get it done earlier.

But, I still have a mountain of tidying to do before I can even think about decorating or wrapping. The poor tree has been sitting in the garden for 2 days.

Not one room is usable yet.

Hoping to make last posting day tomorrow but that depends on me remembering where I stashed the presents!

But it'll all be alright on the night, won't it?! 5 days is plenty of time to sort out a crazy untidy house finish all my shipping, cards and posting and decorating, right, right?

I'm just hoping the last-minute ADHD panic superpower kicks in soon!

How are you all doing out there? Despite your best intentions, has Christmas snuck up on you again?

Anyone have any experience of Lego express delivery? Ordered DH present late Friday and went for the (£18!!) express delivery option as it says 1-2 business days so I was thinking it would arrive by tomorrow. Just checked tracking and it's still in Brussels! There's not a lot I can do, just wondering whether to hold out hope.

I have the perfect Christmas organised by checkable lists on my phone, and each evening I sit and look at the list of tasks I haven’t done because other things took priority.
What things, you might well ask.

Constantly feel like I’m teetering on the edge of a meltdown, especially as my family are being super helpful and constantly getting between me and where I was going so I forget what I was doing.

Does anyone else have that thing where you can't do things with other people around? Give me an empty house and I can do anything I need to, eventually. When everyone is home, it's so much harder for me to do what I need to do.

WTF is wrong with me?!! (Rhetorical question! 😁)

I was doing so well, I got a bit of a panic on and got loads done before today.

But as soon as it looks like this mammoth task is actually going to be achievable, I take my foot off the gas and end up doing all sorts of side quests.

It's like there's a part of me that just wants to see me struggle.

This morning it all looked totally doable. Now, after being distracted for most of the day, I'm going to have to pull a very late night if I have any chance of getting everything ready for Christmas

On the plus side, I've now done a full "inventory", have found most things and made a list so I can make sure DC's presents are fairly balanced.

I've got to wrap presents and hoover. The turkey is still slightly frozen and I've just shoved all the shit from my living room onto my bed.

We have basically socialised today and one more visit to make. Then feet up in front of a film that's the plan!

I reached the fuck it stage and didn't clean my bathroom and didn't mop downstairs but I don't care. It's exhausting as a single parent and also looking after my mum. I'm in bed and it's as good as it's going to get. Have a great Christmas everyone!

How's everyone's morning going?

I feel more relaxed now the presents are opened and i think the dcs liked mostly everything!

We were up until past 2am wrapping presents again. I would love just one year when that doesn't happen. I also, foolishly, got a little bit drunk and decided it would be hilarious to slap DH's face with a piece of cheese. It was, but did nothing to help us wrap any faster.

Staying up late wasn't entirely my fault as we had a minor cat emergency that required travelling 40 miles to a vet for treatment, as ours was closed and the usual out-of-hours practice was also closed. That threw a massive spanner into the works.

Today has been lovely as we used the cat emergency to convince family not to call down. We are seeing them all over the next few days anyway. It has been delightful, having no external pressure to tidy up or get ready.

I got very little sleep and am barely functioning, but happily so. Everyone seems to like the food and their presents, the DC aren't arguing, the booze is going down well and my house is tidy! (Well, as long as you don't look in the conservatory or upstairs, but I'm taking that!)

I've just come upstairs for a snooze after a large lunch, leaving everyone else content watching a film. Plan for the evening is to have pud and a sandwich along with whatever snacks call out to us!

Presents were wrapped, house tidied (although a tip again) and dinner went well. @ShinySquirrel I hope your cat is feeling better, but glad it meant you could have less visitors!

My DM is still here, I'm itching for her to go home so I can properly relax now everything is over.

@UpToonGirl house was immaculate for about 10 minutes here before getting trashed again

Cat is ok; he got into a fight and has an injured paw and potentially some small bones are broken in it. We've been told that can't really be treated though. He is feeling sorry for himself but is also fine, if you know what I mean. He is collared to stop him from licking the wounded paw and the collar is annoying him more than anything else.

Here he is at the emergency vet, being all 'Why are you doing this to me?!'.

Does anyone just want to do nothing? Knowing there is so much to be done. I don't know where to start. I need to clear things out to make room for Xmas things and help my ND daughter sort her room out as it's chaotic!! She doesn't like me to touch anything in there but it's chaos!
