What do *you* want for Christmas?

My family are asking me what I would like for Christmas. The kids aren't too impressed with my answer - a two week adults only trip to Bora Bora. I love them but I would love a break (and I hate sand, so they know this is all in jest).

When it comes down to it though, I really don't know what I'd like - I don't need anything. So what is it that you would like for Christmas? I obviously need some inspo.

Thank you.

My answer is generally :
Nice olive oil
Reed diffusers
Decent red wine
Rituals shower foam
Refills for my razor

Hummusanddipdip · 15/12/2024 19:47

At the moments its:
books
candles
fluffy socks
pj sets
some beginners crochet sets, been trying to learn for years and started to wonder if I got a kit would I manage?

PiastriThePastry · 15/12/2024 19:47

New ariat grasmere boots, mine are on their last legs sadly!
Perfume, Alien ideally but I’ll ’settle’(!) for Lady Million
Wrangler ‘large tote’ bag, I’m due a new baby in march so it’ll be my changing bag
New kitchen scales
A watch… up to DH which he goes for!
New bedding set
Socks, always always more socks

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 15/12/2024 19:48

I’d like someone to clean my house, cook me dinner and bring me a hot water bottle and a cocoa.

Although I do appreciate paint and paint brushes from a particular retailer.

Rocknrollstar · 15/12/2024 19:48

A bracelet
Gold earrings
National Geographic book about the Endurance
Spa voucher
Afternoon tea
Cans of cocktails
Amazon voucher for Kindle books.

TrippTover · 15/12/2024 19:50

Ask for a break to somewhere less elaborate than Bora Bora? 😁

I want a really good backpack and shoulder bag, and then got a lot of what else I wanted for my bday recently so other than that I want a surprise please! But a good surprise, not a shit surprise.

Mistletones · 15/12/2024 19:51

Perfume
clothes
a voucher for a massage (could this work as a little break - or a spa day if the budget is bigger?)
makeup (just replacements for my every day things that will run out in the next month or so, save me finding time to buy them)
any keep sakes, photo books. Or I know it’s not everyone’s taste but I’d love an ID necklace with DCs initials on the back.
cook books. I like to collect these, admittedly I cook very little from them!
books and coffee table books too.

nice food - things I won’t normally splash out on, and nicer versions of things I have any way like coffee teas olive oil etc.
vouchers for deliveroo or coffee shops
some crocs slippers
new trainers
new walking boots, mine aren’t very comfy.
nice socks
pjs

Thewalrusandthecarpenter · 15/12/2024 19:52

Makeup bag
Black leggings
Scented candle (nicer than I would buy)
Perfume (Flower - Kenzo)
Large saucepan
Oliver Bonas earrings
Lindt balls

TizerorFizz · 15/12/2024 19:53

@SwanSongMoggy Does family include DH?

I can always add to my jewellery collection. So this year I have an amazing butterfly pendant. It matches earrings I already have.

Other ideas: cashmere pullover or scarf, leather gloves, new designer umbrella, expensive classy shower gel, sunglasses, Hermes scarf if spending a lot, new purse, chunky “gold” necklace, phone cross body bag, Hermes bangle, Loewe scarf or keyring.

Stuff olive oil!

SquirrelSoShiny · 15/12/2024 19:55

Rituals shower foam was on my list too 😍 Also some books and fancy hair products. I really hate 'useless' gifts so I quite often buy my own stuff and just hand it over to be wrapped!

mrsconradfisher · 15/12/2024 19:57

I would like…
some new jeans
some new Veja trainers as worn mine to death
pyjamas
new underwear
a new water bottle for work
Lego flowers
huge box of ferrero rocher
kindle voucher
Jo malone perfume

I will probably get nothing as we don’t do presents for us!!

workingcream · 15/12/2024 19:58

Just ordered myself a really good headtorch for night time trail running! That's my present to myself.

TuesdayNameChangeArama · 15/12/2024 19:59

General list of things I'd always be happy to receive:

Meraki reed diffuser.
Good gardening gloves.
Woolly socks.
Nice coffee beans.
Nice olive oil.
Earl of East eucalyptus shower spray.
Basically any body product from Nuxe.
Dr Jart Ceramidim moisturiser.

SwanSongMoggy · 15/12/2024 20:07

Thank you! There are some wonderful ideas on your lists, I really appreciate you sharing them. A lot of things I haven't heard of! Family does include DH, and whilst we would love to go somewhere not quite as far as Bora Bora we aren't quite ready to leave our 3 year old. We don't have anyone we can leave him with now and I'm not sure that'll change any time soon, but maybe things can be put in place in a few years' time.

GiantBears · 15/12/2024 20:51

My one Christmas present is a mouthpiece for a woodwind instrument, but it is a very good one. I am quite excited about it.

ChristmasIsComing2024 · 15/12/2024 21:09

I’ve asked for -
3 Photobooks that I have made printing
Animal spiral art
A few books
A LUSH snow fairy bath bomb
Thorntons chocolates
A LINDT pic n mix
Pjs
A bubblegum milkshake kit
Socks
A paint by numbers kit
New shoes as mine are destroyed
A t-shirt (ordered but it’s not looking like it will come in time so will probably save it for my birthday)
A squishmallow cup
Capybara plushies

CharlotteStreetW1 · 15/12/2024 21:23

I've asked DH for John Lewis vouchers which, combined with the ones we normally get from work 🤞, means I'll be able to get this bag.

Jmmi · 15/12/2024 19:44

My answer is generally :
Nice olive oil
Reed diffusers
Decent red wine
Rituals shower foam
Refills for my razor

Yup!

Plus an amazing calendar with some inspiring picture every month that had room to write the actual less fun stuff I beed to do.

Lovely bag/ free / jewellery I can't afford but yearn for.

WinkyTinky · 15/12/2024 21:44

I've bought a pair of ten quid earrings from Sainsbury's for the kids to give me. That'll be all I get. But my wish would be a cleaner and a cook. And not not have this flu 😫

Patienceinshortsupply · 15/12/2024 21:48

DH has already bought me some new Aigle wellies, my last ones split and so I'm already wearing them....

I've asked for:
Holland Cooper candle
Thick wellie socks
An apron - sick of getting filthy when I'm cooking
Nightshirts as most of mine are now full of holes
Dior nail glow
This Works hand cream

Artart · 15/12/2024 22:01

Theatre/ gallery weekend
diptique candle
handknitted wool socks
good balsamic vinegar
a black v neck cashmere jumper with wide sleeves
art books
neals yard bath oil.

mainly things I rarely splurge on. I’m not fussy tbh, I’ll probably get a couple of random things from kids and something way off the mark from DH. Love Christmas though, and making the most of the years with kids all still in the house. Seasonal food and decorated house make me very happy too!

Fuzzyandwarm · 15/12/2024 22:22

A book on how to read sheet music for beginners
Some more books
I don't really know, I find it hard to think because I never have money to spend on myself- I desperately need new clothes and wellies.
Would love some rings with huge stones in them, vintage would be great.
More Le Creuset mugs as they seem to be everyone's favourite mugs in the house so I sometimes don't get there in time!
