What do *you* want for Christmas?

My family are asking me what I would like for Christmas. The kids aren't too impressed with my answer - a two week adults only trip to Bora Bora. I love them but I would love a break (and I hate sand, so they know this is all in jest).

When it comes down to it though, I really don't know what I'd like - I don't need anything. So what is it that you would like for Christmas? I obviously need some inspo.

Thank you.

I've asked for:

Sorel snow boots
Pyjamas
A dress from Oliver Bonas
Tickets for Hamilton musical

TeamPolin · 16/12/2024 18:47

If Santa happens to be reading. I've been a good(ish) girl and would like any of the following:

Lucy and Yak cord dungarees
Glossier lidstar eye shadow
A jigsaw for Boxing Day
Some kind of craft kit - crochet, knitting, beading etc.
Books about modernist/brutalist architecture
L'Occitane Cherry Blossom Eau De Toilette

A hot water bottle & a new dressing grown & PJs.

I know I have nothing though, is what it is.

EatAllDay · 28/10/2025 23:37

I’d like a pair of Levi’s.

christmasideers · 29/10/2025 06:41

My list is basically soap/diffusers/candles and chocolate. And another pair of cashmere wrist warmers.

puffballsleeves · 29/10/2025 06:43

Some bed linen from toast
A new bag
candles

TizerorFizz · 29/10/2025 09:51

Hermes scarf. LV scarf. Earrings made by a local jeweller. Remaking jewellery I own and don’t wear.

Iclyn · 29/10/2025 09:57

I've got everything I need ( extremely low maintenance ) and just buy stuff I want as and when . Dh is the same .
We are probably boring , but don't want anything .

We buy for family only , and don't want anything in exchange .

EnchantingDecoration · 29/10/2025 09:57

My DCs are young adults. My go-to gift suggestions for them are

Books, I make a list from about now
500 piece jigsaws preferably of places rather than something random like cats
Lego flower/plant kits

DH I usually ask for some tech if I need it, silver jewellery from specific makers or theatre tickets.

At the moments its:
books
candles
fluffy socks
pj sets
some beginners crochet sets, been trying to learn for years and started to wonder if I got a kit would I manage?

Sorry off topic, but if you have a Hobbycraft near you look online to see if they do any classes. I've been to a beginners crochet class and it was wonderful!

Lidlisthebusiness · 29/10/2025 13:36

It's my birthday soon and I'm asking for:

A wood/metal double sided chopping board.
Anya Hindmarsh for Uniqlo tshirt and scarf.
Some white, platform sole trainers.
Voucher for Japanese Head Spa.
Minimalist bracelets.
New PJ'S.
Faux leather slouchy bomber jacket.
New plant to add to my collection.

If I get anything from the list, I'll just shimmy the leftovers to Christmas.

JacknDiane · 29/10/2025 13:45

I'd love a diamond eternity ring. Im far too poor to spend any spare money on it, but I always look in jewellers shops and drool

Onefortheroad25 · 29/10/2025 13:51

I’d like any of the following..
A nice new handbag
A new Alexa with the screen
New AirPods
Fancy reed diffuser
Boots voucher or any voucher that I can buy myself nice things.

BobbieTables · 29/10/2025 13:53

Someone else to deal with Christmas food, relationship maintenance and presents and to wake me up in march when it's over

qercv · 29/10/2025 13:56

I am going to be 50 soon so people are asking what I want. So far I have thought a certain bracelet from dc(dh will sort this as they are young, but they wanted to give something that lasts). A jewellery from well known brand from my parents. Other than that I don’t really want anything. No clue about Xmas.

NotMyRealAccount · 29/10/2025 14:29

A trip to an interesting clothes shop in a neighbouring town with DD3, who has a good sense of colour and style and would push my boundaries. (I might have to give DD3 a voucher for the shop and an IOU for coffee and cake to make that happen. Thanks for the thread, OP, that's one of my present-giving dilemmas solved.)
A block of music lessons.
A week in a swanky hotel in central London, with dinner out and a show every evening.
A themed group holiday learning how to do something creative. If it could be something that DH would be interested in doing too, it would be even better.
A new range cooker, with ovens that work properly.

I suspect that what I'll get is a small sum of money from my father, some appropriate second hand sheet music thoughtfully sourced by DS, a piece of jewellery and a card handmade by DD3, a kiss from DH, and a text message from each of the other children.

CatHugger · 29/10/2025 14:33

An ionising hair dryer. I've used DD's for years and she's getting old enough to be annoyed.

Apart from that, new pyjamas. I have a hybrid office job so the tops need to pass as normal day wear on lazy days!

Twattergy · 29/10/2025 14:34

Almost anything from Space NK works for me!
Or a posh dinner somewhere or weekend away - experience rather than "stuff".

Mumwithbaggage · 29/10/2025 14:46

I don't need anything and have so many books to read and more jewellery than I need! So on my list is:

Pay for my gym/swimming membership (from dh, can be my birthday present as well)
A wok - chucked mine a couple of weeks ago
I know dd1 is buying me a sleep mask with bluetooth like hers - I have sleep issues and a snoring dh
L'Occitane almond shower gel
I'm sure the children (adult) will come up with some nice surprises!

YorkieTheRabbit · 29/10/2025 15:31

My list
Dyson hairdryer
Wentworth jigsaws
Jigsaw board
Elemis cleansing balm

Hadalifeonce · 29/10/2025 15:34

Fizz, nice red wine and a day at home.

Moonlightfrog · 29/10/2025 15:48

Lego gameboy
A fox skull (from Etsy)
A pair of deer skull silver earrings from punk youth
leggings with pockets….I have ordered these as a gift to myself.
Walking boots
leg warmers
Snoopy insulated coffee cup
Vegetable seeds
A garden fork
Fungi jigsaw puzzle

BiddyPopthe2nd · 29/10/2025 16:03

My DM got very excited about a small jar of truffle salt from Oil and Vinegar as part of her birthday present this year. So it can be the small things!

Nopenousername · 29/10/2025 16:58

A fox skull @Moonlightfrog?! WTF?? 😳

MonsterBookOfTyson · 29/10/2025 18:18

I've asked for a biblio bloom pride and prejudice vase and 2 lego roses.
