What are your favourite Christmas songs? I love all Christmas songs so it's difficult to choose and my list could but my favourites are:

Last Christmas - Wham (love Wham and GM)

Christmas Wrapping - The Waitresses

One More Sleep - Leona Lewis.
Not particularly a LL fan but love this

Carol of The Bells - by anyone!

Christmas Canon- Trans Siberian orchestra!

Traditional - O Holy Night is too gorgeous. The harmony on “Falllllll on your kneeeeeees” gives me goosebumps every time.

20th Century popular - can’t beat Jonah Lewie for me, Stop the Cavalry. And Elton John’s Step Into Christmas.

Cheesy pop - Britney Spears - My Only Wish (This Year) is pure sugary sweetness. Ariana’s Santa Tell Me is in a similar vein.

I love some pop punk and my absolute favourites are:

Mighty Mighty Bosstones - This Time Of Year
Fall Out Boy - Yule Shoot Your Eye Out
The Ramones - Merry Christmas (I Don’t Wanna Fight Tonight)

And finally, What’s This? from A Nightmare Before Christmas. Get me drunk on Bucks Fizz and I will perform it word-perfect to a room of horrified family members.

Christmas Lights - Coldplay. It's probably a sad, middle-aged choice. But I don't care, it hits the spot for me😁

Silent night is my favourite hymn. Pop songs its got to be a spaceman came traveling by chris de burghe, last Christmas by Wham, driving home for Christmas chris rhea and keeping the dream alive by feiheit. Wizard and slade for when I want to dance 🩰

Freiheit is a great shout. Gives me chills. I love how it builds from the magical fairy dust intro gradually through to all the trumpets and drums and grand orchestration. It’s like a hug for my heart (God that sounds cheesy 😳).

O Holy Night moves me every time I hear it, as does Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas (but only when sang by Judy).

One of my work colleagues is in a Choir and they have recorded a Christmas song to raise awareness of the need for Foster Carers (obvs not just at Christmas) it's really beautiful, made me tear up actually. It's worth a look if you want to listen. It's called Welcome Home by Ashford Sings! Choir.

The video on YouTube is just beautiful 😍 they have a seven hour video of old Christmas songs by "proper" singer's.....frank Sinatra, dean Martin, jim reeves. I was in tears the other day listening. Reminded me of songs my mum used to listen to when I was small x

I think it's only a Christmas song because of the music video but East 17 - Stay Another Day is up there with my favourites.

And of course Fairytale of New York and Stop the Cavalry.

@helpfulperson my eldest two are singing a Christmas song for their school performance and I suggested they sing that.. they said no 🤷🏼‍♀️

Agree with "O Holy Night" being l+moving,very beautiful.

I quite like The Medieval Baebes, love that "ancient" sound.

Step Into Christmas and Merry Christmas Everyone are great singalong songs. I really enjoy Kylie's, "Santa Baby" .

Not technically a Christmas song but I absolutely love, "Baby It's Cold Outside" sung by anyone but especially Tom and Cerys, "It's bloody freezin!"

Driving home for Christmas by Chris Rea, especially when accompanied by the video of a truck driving through the snow. Video reminds me so much of a trip my OH and I made in his Land Rover when there was that big freeze and heavy snowfall (2010?), we had a 100-mile trip to make and it felt like were completely alone in the world.

Dropped ds1 at uni, he had a good Spotify list. I do like Mariah 'All I want for Christmas is you'.

Shakin Stevens - Merry Christmas Everyone (always been one of my top favourites!)

Last couple of years, I've LOVED Straight No Chaser - particularly "To Christmas (the drinking song)"...it's hilarious!

Also love Once Upon a Christmas Song by Geraldine McQueen (AKA, Peter Kay of course!) - feel like it's a very underrated Christmas song!

I used to be SO against Stay Another Day being a Christmas song, but after seeing it in so many Christmas song countdowns, I've fully embraced it and included it in my own Spotify Christmas playlist!

Christy Moore's version of Fairytale of New York is my absolute favourite (but beware that it has the original, problematic lyrics)

Slade / Shaky / Wizzard I'm a bit sick of already and it's only 5th Dec. I'm also now sick to death of Fairytale of New York.

@RainbowZebraWarrior I love River! Hardly ever hear anyone mentioning it, but it’s so beautiful. When Joni hits that high note on “Teach my feet to fly-y-yyyy-yyyyyyyyyyy” 💔 I love the way she interpolates Jingle Bells into it as well.
