Teen girls and boys - where do they clothes shop?

JumpstartMondays · 03/12/2024 21:17

Thinking of vouchers for teen nieces and nephews but I have no idea what shops are in these days for their age.

New look? H&M?

I'm guessing John Lewis or M&S is out 😆

They range from 13-16yo

I have a 17/13 yo

Id say Brandy Melville, Hollister & Urban Outfitters are the favourites. Not the cheapest though.....

Fluffycloudsfloatinginthesky · 03/12/2024 21:19

Mine are both girls.

Littletreefrog · 03/12/2024 21:20

Id they are in anyway sporty and probably also if they are not then it seems to be JD Sports and Footasylum. Flannels if you are feeling very flush.

Comedycook · 03/12/2024 21:20

I have a boy and girl in this age range

Dd likes h and m and new look.

Ds likes any sportswear shops like JD sports

ElvenElf · 03/12/2024 21:21

Urban outfitters probably have the biggest variation in terms of different styles I would say.
Mine mostly shop on Vinted now

leia24 · 03/12/2024 21:21

My 14yo shops at Urban Outfitters but that's quite niche for her age around here and she only goes because of specific things that are fashionable in the dance universe.
She likes JD, Foot Asylum, Zara.
Zara probably being the favourite. She would also very much thank you for a Sephora or Boots gift card.

OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea · 03/12/2024 21:24

Big teen boy in my house shops at tk max and vinted. The mid teen girl run and fly and vinted. The small teen boy gives no shits and would not buy clothes ever if not forced to and mostly wears an assortment of hand me downs.

TENSsion · 03/12/2024 21:26

Do you live near a large shopping mall? You can usually buy vouchers to use in most / all of their stores so they’re not limited to just one place.

PrincessOfPreschool · 03/12/2024 21:32

Cash?!

My DD likes looking round Hollister, Brandy, Urban outfitters, Superdry but will end up in Pull n Bear, Stradivarius and Bershka (cheaper!). That's girls.

My 16yo boy gets tracksuits from Vinted or hand me downs from cool family friends! Trendy street brands like Trapstar, North face and many I can't remember. 19yo couldn't care less as long as it's comfy and he's preferably had it for at least 2 years.

colesr · 03/12/2024 21:33

The best vouchers are cash.

Alternatively, one for the shopping centre so they are not stuck to a store they don't like?

MissyB1 · 03/12/2024 21:33

I have a teen boy, he likes hollister, Jack and Jones, New Look men.

Love2shop vouchers are available all over. Failing that, Amazon go down well as there's always some tech required (headphones, games controllers etc) or for DD books, stationery.

Yes, Stradivarius, Pull and Bear and Berschka all popular here when they want more for their money!

I do yes, but my nieces and nephews don't unfortunately!

Brandy Melville and Pull and Bear plus h&m.

BlackChunkyBoots · 03/12/2024 21:37

Pull & Bear, Hollister is just about in, Superdry is for Dads, apparently 😂. DD hates Brandy Melville

My DD is way into second hand and going through a 90s baggy clothes stage. She buys from charity shops and markets alongside her high street faves.

Verite1 · 03/12/2024 21:38

My DS just likes the usual sports wear. Nike, Adidas, North Face.

BlackStrayCat · 03/12/2024 21:38

Careful though with Brandy M unless they are very slim.

pizzaHeart · 03/12/2024 21:43

I would go with a shop they physically could go to or Amazon ( unless they oppose to it for ethical reasons?)
And I would check the list of retailers before buying Love2shop card.

daffodilandtulip · 03/12/2024 21:46

Hollister, H&M, Urban Outfitters, Pretty Little Thing.
Converse, Vans and Doc Martens for shoes.
Sephora, Boots, Superdrug for make up and perfume.

Love to see my DH in one of those super short Superdry tartan skirts 🤣.

Oh gosh, the 90s baggy look. DD is getting some Urban Outfitters tracksuit bottoms for Xmas which look HUGE. She's an 8 and I'm a 14 but I reckon I can wear them. Brandy Melville is so soooo boring but my DD likes that look too.

OP, beware. My 15yo niece wouldn't be seen dead in any of those brands. She likes what in my day we called 'goth' style - corsets, piercings, chains, boots etc. They can be very individual at this age.

Yep I'm going to, I hate love2shop vouchers

There are some brands/shops being mentioned here that I've never heard of 🤣

Feeling like a bit of a dinosaur!

It will depend on how much you're going to give them. £20 on clothes doesn't often stretch and is only handy if you know they definitely shop there.
If you want to give more you'd want to ensure it's defunct going to get spent.

You know them best but for girls I'd suggest Sephora, JD for boys.

Other suggestions would be Argos for gaming/gadgets/hair/ beauty appliances or Amazon
