I have 3 teen DD’s spending around £300 each bar the eldest (very unusual for us but needed something bigger for Uni)

Eldest obviously sorted. Youngest never a problem to buy for a has a lovely pile of presents to wake up too but middle DD I don’t have a clue.

She has given us a few ideas but they are all little/smaller things, obviously we will buy them but would like her to have something exciting.

Share with me your teenage DD’s lists/presents.

DD is very sporty and academic but not particularly sociable, loves music/drama/stagey stuff, makeup, clothes. tech, her own space.

Not really into skin care, a very practical no fluff kind of girl and really not a fan of unwanted things but obviously she needs a lovely pile of presents just like her sisters.

Help.

Books, maybe coffee table type glossy ones? Cosy stuff for her room like cuddle pillows, lava lamp, throws, etc. Digital camera?

bostonchamps · 02/12/2024 13:25

Tickets to something she'll love and the promise of a lovely day out with you?

BarbedButterfly · 02/12/2024 13:35

If she likes makeup, check out the little bag of tricks on cult beauty. Some nice bits in there. It is on my christmas list! If she likes tech, what about a Philips hue starter set? Could control her own lights with Alexander, quite cool for drama practice.

BarbedButterfly · 02/12/2024 13:35

With Alexa obviously. Missed that auto correct

XiCi · 02/12/2024 13:41

Tickets to a show or a gig she'd love? She sounds like she has similar interests to dd and we managed to get Lana Del Ray tickets. Before we got them I was looking at getting tickets to the new Clueless musical

Thanks everyone for ideas.

She already has quite a lot of the above things mentioned and had considered some kind of tickets but already booked up for Billie Eilish and Hamilton next year and wasn’t sure if that was enough, will have a look though as she is doing A level Drama so anything stagey useful from a education side of things too.

She is just so different from my other two and the only one that is actively quite frugal.

She does have a horse and competes so definitely ideas to be had there but nothing that she has asked for.

What about the pen knife for horsey people (has a hoof pick). My girls (who ride) will love this. Or tickets to badminton or a professional photo shoot for her and her horse. Or..to go down the music avenue, a record player and some lp’s? I have a similar aged and interests daughter!

Badminton tickets for the 3 of us (two horses girls) were my first thought as we say we will take them every year and it never materialises but then I realised I’d have to sell limbs to fund them!!

Hoof picks are like hair bobbles round here, they are everywhere! 😅

Pandora charm bracelet?

and a few special charms to start related to her interests?

ElvenElf · 03/12/2024 00:21

What discipline does she compete in?
A lesson with an Olympic eventer for example if she events.
Leather headcollar for travelling and at events
Fancy travel rug embroidered with horse's name
Haas brush set
Ear warmers to attach to hat for winter riding
Roekl gloves
Expensive new stirrups
Waterproof chaps for winter riding
Made to measure long boots

oobedobe · 03/12/2024 02:03

I was finding my 16yo dd similarly hard to buy for, here are some ideas I have gone with...

make up/product organizer

candle warmer lamp

power bank

She loves a store we have called Bath and Bodyworks, so getting her a candle and a gift card for there.

Laniege lip mask set

cupcake icing starter set (likes to bake)

Heated avocado plush for cramps

Gift cards for food places she likes; subway etc

Tickets to Lion King Musical (family gift)

HPandthelastwish · 03/12/2024 02:16

I'm buying DD a copy of Much Ado About Nothing and putting our tickets in there for the show at Theatre Royale. It's not until April but she is going to love it, she's a big Shakespeare (and Marvel) fan and Tom Hiddlestone and Hayley Atwell are starring so will be a physically small but mighty present.

I found out tonight Ilona Maher is transfering to an English rugby team temporarily for a few months in the new year too so if I can get tickets for a match I will be. I appreciate your DD probably won't be into that though

These are the kind of things that are my go to, but we do seem to have most of them covered. We did the posh rug last year and she had a lesson with Alex Braag for her birthday, I might re look at this though.

I did over her a new fixed peak with a bit more sparkle than her current one but she is insistent she doesn’t need a new hat and likes her old one..

Her sister (my other horsey one) was in absolute shock that she would turn this down!! 😅

  • Vanity mirror with lights
  • P Louise products
  • Cozy lounge wear
  • Ugg Slippers
  • Make up organiser unit
Andrasa · 03/12/2024 10:01

Mini fridge for her room? If you say she’s practical/frugal could frame it as the starts of her uni/moving out kit.

lego set? There’s some for most interests now aimed at adults since the prices are crazy, I always wanted Lego but got makeup/uggs instead while my brother got games and Lego.

Andrasa · 03/12/2024 10:06

This Lego set for example, super cute

MiddleAgedDread · 03/12/2024 10:10

Last year I bought teens that age a hand luggage sized suitcase because they were starting to go to sports competitions and things like uni open days without parents and didn't have their own.

XelaM · 03/12/2024 10:12
