Thanks @IlovePond for the title.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Has anyone seen any of the little puzzles from my childhood. It's like a picture split over about nine or twelve little squares. They are mixed up and you have to slide each tile until you reveal the picture? Looking fo for one for my 8; year olds stocking.

Baker Ross have some.

I still have one of a bear from my childhood!

Not really a bargain as such but the Miller Harris discovery set has 20% off at the moment making it £28 you get 8 samples and a voucher for £35 off a full size bottle, its also free delivery. it's not very economical but is a lovely gift if you have someone tricky to buy for https://www.millerharris.com/products/discovery-set

winewolfhowls · 19/11/2024 20:21

Thank you everyone, and not meaning to be ungrateful but I was wondering if there existed a more grown up version of the sliding puzzles. I can't seem to find any

issantahereyet · 19/11/2024 20:22

Apologies if I'm completely imagining this and sound crazy, but did someone mention on a previous thread about the IKEA rats being around £1.50?
If on the off-chance I'm not imagining this and they are down to that, would someone be an absolute star and pick 3 up for me please (obviously if going there anyway)? Of course will cover all costs, happy to even go through Vinted if that makes things any easier 🤞🏻

Can someone recommend some inexpensive but good essential oils to go in an electric diffuser?

Haven't RTFT but I much prefer The White Company oils over NEOM - nicer fragrances, cheaper and you need far less than NEOM state to use as well! Oliver Bonas also had some nice ones 2 years ago, which I'm still alternating.

Knackerelli · 19/11/2024 20:34

If anyone missed out on the gruum shower bars or fragrances and have a Santander account, my boosts email today had the free offer.

Im also awaiting my elf delivery and deciding who gets the Star Wars mug and escape to the chateau book thanks to you lot 😂😂 Yes a complete sheep 🐑

Not cheap but look good (I’ve got the hat for DH for Christmas, so can’t report yet!)

Also recommending sealskinz. Hadn't realised how expensive they are, will have to take better care of them!

ShinyPrettyThings87 · 19/11/2024 20:41

@IsThisIt2021 Window stickers I've bought from here before and three years later, the ones I have in my kitchen over Christmas (so get wiped every day for steam/in highly differing temperatures etc) still look perfect.

Ocean59 · 19/11/2024 20:41

Anyone help please?

My Secret Santa recipient is very Crafty, loves felting etc and I don't have a clue. Can anyone recommend a gift for about £10 not for a beginner.

Thank you

ShinyPrettyThings87 · 19/11/2024 20:45

Sorry @IsThisIt2021 forgot to attach pic of the cheaper ones and can't see how to edit to add it, these are what I have, £12 😍

Thank you

@Ocean59 a wool felting mat like these? They have several colours and are nicer than the ones I'd pick up for myself!

Ouch a tenner is tricky.

this website is great they have lovely kits for all sorts of crafts, supplies and courses if your anywhere near Hertfordshire. They’ve got some digital downloads for a fiver, but you’d have to have a think of how to make it a gift

Hmph. I waited so long for my Claire’s £5 voucher to come through, that both the B3G3 and the 30% code went away. That’ll teach me!
