I wonder how much is average to spend on adult children, grandchildren etc. I feel quite overwhelmed with it all these days. Any ideas for unusual presents? Mine are all in their 30's and none are well off.

wow some of these replies are crazy!!
I have a son of 22 who still lives at home he has about 100 pounds spent on him
My daughter is 28 and married i would say about 100 pounds on her and about 80 on her partner
her birthday is just before Xmas so 150 pounds on that
Christmas is for children i have a six year old niece so most of the money goes on her but this will be split once the grandchildren come along so each child ie niece and any future grandchildren will get the same amount each so probably 200 pounds each

Our parents (we are in 30s/40s) spend 30 each on us. Though one sister gets more because my mum feels like she never gets treated (she has 4 kids and money's tight). Not sure about grandkids. There's a lot of them but none are mine sadly. My parents gave me an "antique" dish last year that they found in a charity shop. I turned it over and realised it was made by ernesto (I.e lidl, lollll) I didn't say anything. I've had no money most of my lift until the last two years so I think they're adjusting the budget for me haha.

I don't agree that Christmas is just for kids. There are no kids in my family and yet it's still a big deal for us.
Let people do the hell they want. Some want to keep it low key and keep the budget down. Others want it to be the biggest occasion of the year and like to spend money. Neither is right or wrong.

Mine were 24/21/18 last year, 24 lives with boyfriend, I spent about £500 each and about £100 on boyfriend. I save £250 every month for Xmas so it doesn’t seem too bad

its hard if they want trainers and clothes to spend under £300 then plus other small gifts it all adds up

My kids are mostly young adults at uni. I spend about £75 on them. It's mostly things they've asked for with the odd random idea from me. I'm at the point of asking them if they'd just like the money....I think they'll say no! They also get a stocking but that is mostly sweets and chocolate
