Thread 9 - the one with a kink for L’Occitaine

Reastie · 04/11/2024 18:52

Thanks @Travelcrazy for the title. It really tickled me!

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Stock informer is a handy site http://www.stockinformer.co.uk/default.aspx?fullsite=1

Are you sure this is legit? I got pushed a Facebook advert for Stanley cups from what looked like sports direct but when I checked the URL it was clearly a scam website. Don't be caught out!

Would this be suitable for someone in early 30s

I'm in my 30s and I love it. Smells like a spa!

Oh thanks, it was on Instagram so probably is a scam then! So sorry all! Will see if I can get the post removed.

My DS17 and my Father(82) are both obsessed with bamboo socks and pants and I've bought them both some for christmas every year for the last few years. From Swole Panda in particular. but this year they aren't doing the same pick and mix options for buying them.

Can anyone recommend another great brand for bamboo socks and pants?

I really like Seasalt socks but only buy them when there is a sale on as I find them £££. They may have some offers for Black Friday.

SnowJamz · 07/11/2024 09:43

Has anyone seen any pink Christmas gift boxes online or in shops? I saw one on TK Maxx but dithered and now it’s sold out.

Having ignored all the chat on previous chats about heated throws and blankets..my mum has now decided she would like one! Can anyone point me in the direction of a great brand/deal as I really don't know what I'm looking for! Many thanks

I bought this one from Boots last time they had money off. Just noticed it is back on offer, £40 off this time. It is quite heavy but feels good quality and warms up quickly.

Yalz · 07/11/2024 10:59

Lakeland have sent me an email to say their Black Friday sale has started, with 50% offsome things, including an expensive heated throw,

MadeForThis · 07/11/2024 11:10

Any deals on coco mademoiselle?

mumsm · 07/11/2024 11:32

I keep buying all the bargains for myself or DC !!!!!!!!

I need something for PIL's who have had everything from the previous threads, cinnamon buns, candles etc.

I wonder if they would like a rubber dick each 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 love this and it has to be the new thread title @Reastie

Webbb · 07/11/2024 11:33

@Ceejadess I really rate Abbott Lyon, I have quite a few pieces now and they're all lovely.

However if you're not in a rush hold on for Black Friday, they're bound to have a sale. They have sales throughout the year, I never buy anything full price. The last time I bought something a few months back the whole site was buy one get one free. Oh and Stacey Solomon sometimes shares discount codes as she works for them, so have a google or look on her insta.
