Thanks @Felith for the title!

It was a toughie to pick the thread title this time!
Thanks to @RainbowZebraWarrior for the title Xmas Grin For those interested, our fate is best before June of next year and the offer was regarding Guylian choices at B&M.

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Has anyone been able to get a code to work on Oodie with the discounted Oodies?!? I left them in my basket and they emailed me a code but it says it’s not valid with my basket. I guess because they’re already reduced.

Have you tried COMEBACK20 ?

Lazza24 · 16/10/2024 21:23

Yes @Twonka, that’s the code they sent me but I think it’s because they’re already reduced it won’t work. Never mind!

DS is after an Apple Watch Series 8. Can't buy it new only refurbished. Any reputable suggestions where to buy from? Apple have them but we need 41mm and preferably in midnight colour (gps only).

I've brought a few electrical products refurbished from Ebay, normally with additional discounts. You have to read the details to check the type of level of refurbish but should all come with 12 month warranty.

Hints if possible for nice soaps. Especially love fruity or floral scents that lather really nicely and creamy.
Also any tips for dog fleeces? Want to pay less than Equafleece if I’m honest.
Thanks!

I like the Nesti Dante ones - picked some up in TK Maxx recently and have bought from Amazon before. They come in really beautiful packaging too.

Looks like Notion have it cheap atm source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADRCXTSVgxvCGsHEq5UTT2jG8HBU1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwyL24BhCtARIsALo0fSDPafSZGe7wWGnFTnsZ0c4Yo5BqOqaEr6bu0zEcb6vzWjhezFiFpHIaAkUCEALwwcB posh soap

@HopefulBeliever hugely recommend The Soap And Soak Kitchen on Facebook and they have a website SoapAndSoakSoaps

I found them on Etsy a couple of years ago and have bought exclusively from there since, they've since left Etsy to go independent. Fab for sensitive skin too!

Just to update that my IWOOT order finally arrived today! I ordered in the 5 for £10 offer. Only four items were sent out, but they had adjusted the payment so I’m very happy with my bargains - thanks to whoever posted about the offer! (I got the Star Wars bb8 light up and movement notebook, a light up marvel notebook, a colour change Star Wars mug and a colour change Toy Story mug for less than £10!).

Have you tried Back Market? There seem to be some on there. I have bought from the site before and never been disappointed. Here is one option in the right size and colour - i selected excellent condition but you could askari have gone for less good ones (and therefore cheaper).

These puddings are really nice. I’m not a big Christmas pudding fan but I liked these. I got them from Bath Christmas market last year - they did offers on them at the market.

I’ll second this as we buy the Christmas puddings from here every year after trying them at Lincoln Christmas market years ago. Also bought the selection of sponge type puddings from website which went down very well.

Try the National Trust shops & posh garden centres for naturally scented soaps in fancy packaging.

The national trust shops have more of a range in soaps than online. The Morden Hall Park garden centre has loads of soaps in their shop.

@HopefulBeliever for soaps I like black cherry from Nesti Dante and last Christmas I got a beautifully packaged box containing 4 soaps from Yorkshire Soap company.

Does anyone have an Argos code, need to spend over £100 and I'd be really grateful.

Inthelastchancesaloon · 17/10/2024 07:24

Has anyone gifted any percy nobleman beard products before?
I usually get a beard grooming orientated present for various people, would like it to be good quality but also not cost the earth. I saw PN on boots but hadn't heard of the brand before but it looks quite nice. Open to other suggestions though!

chocolateisavegetable · 17/10/2024 07:33

If you’re buying for someone in the South of England and wanting to gift an experience, the Hawk Conservancy are doing half price admission vouchers. They have to be used by the end of February.

I can also confirm that back market is good value and has never let us down. Last purchase was an iPhone, it was described as excellent condition but honestly looked new.

Is BargainMax real or fake/copies? I thought there was a big thing a few years ago about it being (usually good) fakes?

Everything we’ve had from bargain max has been legit.
are you possibly thinking of onBuy?

@chocolateisavegetable thank you so much for this! We were looking at going here, and it's ds birthday first week of Jan which is always a nightmare to find anywhere to go. Family of 5 so this saved a little fortune for us 😃 made up, thank you

So not Christmas per se but adds up towards ...

If you are shopping in Asda soon a couple of things -

Today I got a voucher printed with my receipt for £5 off a £25 spend. I've never seen these in Asda before! Only have a week to use but probably doable if you squeeze another smaller shop in?

Second, if you have a reward voucher and want to ensure any £ accrued gets spent or want to save it for something later on, when I have enough for say a £5 voucher, when paying for my shop I top up an Asda gift card with equivalent then cash in my reward voucher so it cancels that spend out IYSWIM? You the have at least a year to spend or longer if you always use your reward £ that way. Otherwise the reward vouchers once converted only have a few months on them.
