Ouch indeedy Meeces !

I am idly scrolling MN looking to see if there's any mention of a Christmas Eve spooky film sort of thing Mark Gattis is famous for but I don't know if he's doing one this year ?

I need to buy a TVTimes , I saw a Radio Times bumper Christmas edition (but its too highbrow and serious for me )

We're in Amsterdam, I am Officially Done With Christmas Markets and can happily go the rest of my life not going to another one.
We've done loads of walking ,seen sights and managed to cross the roads and stay intact - no mean feat I tell you .

TheWoollybacksWife · 17/12/2024 13:10

Here you go 70 BBC2 on Christmas Eve - your wish is Mark G's command.

NoWordForFluffy · 17/12/2024 13:40

Woolly, I just went to Sostrene Grene for the first time. It's not really set out well for it being busy, and there were a few too many people in there to look properly.

I did get 3 small bowls for the mint sauce / horseradish / apple sauce though, and more napkins. I reckon less busy would mean big spend! 🤣🤣

We are in the middle of ....the sea , not sure what body of water is is I'd need to look at the map . Let's hazard a guess at the English Channel . Though it looks like the North Sea it is rough as.

I have heard Wham "Last Christmas " every day several times z say . DD pointed out that we haven't heard Maria Carey which is strange because that is usually belting out ......

Next week then it'll be Christmas Day .

Morning!

I'm having a day of sitting round on my arse today. Have to admit that it's a bit boring, but as I can't really do anything with my right hand, I'm limited as to what I can actually do! Even the smallest task leaves me in pain, so best to avoid.

I might see if DH wants to help me make our third dessert option in a bit. Just realised I can't do the gammon and pudding on the same day (they both use the stock pot), so I need to shift my plans round!

Boil the gammon and the pudding in the same water for an interesting taste combo....?

I asked my DS to do some cleaning as I was worried about him getting bored , be interesting to see what he's done , I even charged up the cordless vacuum for him . Not letting him get his paws on my new Shark Stratos that is mine.

NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 18/12/2024 12:48

My sympathy cut and pain is lessening now Fluffy and I'm doing some basics. Haven't finished the wrapping though - that's my plan for tonight (if LO sleeps. The changes due to Christmas are unsettling them so we were all up every 2 hours last night 😩).

Yesterday I couldn't cope with the limits on what I could manage so put LO in rain suit and wellies and stomped around the park in the rain then walked home. Was actually really nice as it was dark coming back so we had a good nose at all the lights.

Today we're having a relax at home before walking to meet my dad at the local pub for tea, stopping at the Post office on the way to post MILs gift.
After that, Christmas jobs remaining are finish wrapping, finish the last cross stitch card, pick up one or two more things for LOs stocking (I'm stealing ideas from a thread on here which suggests stickers and a magnifying glass with them aim to keep them entertained but not overwhelmed before we go downstairs) and pick up flowers nearer the time for my auntie.
Oh and shift some toys out of the house to make room and do a serious clean 😳

Wowsers!! That's quite an achievement.
I'm hoping to watch the Netflix doc about the video soon.

NoWordForFluffy · 18/12/2024 15:32

I want to watch the Wham documentary too, Monkey. Just got to wait to drop out of the contest first! 🤣

I've got vacuum cleaner envy now 70!!

Well done for still being in Fluffy. Have you beaten your record?

Is the Wham thing available now? Still got Red One to watch, might do that at the weekend.

NoWordForFluffy · 18/12/2024 15:58

I think so, Magnolia. Pretty sure I've never been beyond 16th before!

The Wham thing is available now, for those who are free to watch. Xmas Grin

I just checked, and I went out on 17th in 2021, as we went to bingo at the school and heard it during dinner in the pub beforehand! So this is definitely my best run!

🎅🏻🎄🎅🏻🎄6🎄🎅🏻🎄🎅🏻

Morning.

It's bloody miserable out there. Cold, windy and wet (hail / sleet).

Yesterday was definitely needed as a do nothing day. Weird how even minor surgery wears you out!

TheWoollybacksWife · 19/12/2024 16:56

Happy birthday why 🎉🎉

Still in Whamaggedon here despite being in and out of shops in Oxford Street yesterday and my knit and natter Christmas lunch today - this was very civilised with a soundtrack of jazz/swing Christmas classics.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 19/12/2024 16:57

Thank you Woolly. Everyone is doing so well with whamageddon this year.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 19/12/2024 18:14

Happy Birthday whydoes

Christmassey Time Birthdays must be tough -my DS is early December but when he was little - about 5yo- he was anxious that the Christmas cards and paper was in the shops and he thought we'd all forgotten his Birthday !
Though when he was 18yo and 21yo he got combined presents (his choice ) as they were Big Ticket

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 19/12/2024 18:46

Thanks 70. I quite like a Christmas birthday. There have been some naff times ie my 30th when hardly anyone came even though they said they would.

Hopingforno2in2024 · 19/12/2024 19:35

Happy birthday @whydoesitalwayshappentome!
