Lego advent calendar are usually about £25 ..... would boot's or superdrug do a make up one??

Blinglover · 16/09/2024 08:45

Watching as I too have a 14yo DD. In the past H&M have done beauty and also jewellery advent calendars at about £25 if that's any help.

DD who will be 13 by Xmas would love the PLouise (£240) or the Sephora (£200) but she won't be getting them.

There is a Boots one for £60 or £70. I'm eyeing up the W7 for her which at £20 is much more reasonable.

Last year she had the Revolution one which was a make up one.

ODFOx · 16/09/2024 09:03

One year I got a bath bomb one from Amazon. Another year one with animal erasers. If she's into make up Revolution usually do a nice one.
Boden used to do a 12 day sock one which was excellent.
Does she like cheese? Ilchester do one with a wrapped piece of cheese every day. There's a charming one with little Scandi style gnomes in that is popping up on my feed at the moment.
There are so many types: if you are looking now you'll certainly find something great!

Bubble T, Joe & Seph’s and Bomb Cosmetics have all been popular in our house. This year I’m leaning towards getting dd a Royal Essence calendar but not 100% sure yet because it’s only 12 doors.

Stompythedinosaur · 16/09/2024 10:22

Think I'm going to get the Revolution one for 13yo dd1 as it's a lot more affordable than the big brand beauty calendars.

Xmasfairy86 · 16/09/2024 11:32

I make them - can get little sacks on amazon or paper bags with number stickers on.
I do a mixture of skincare, make up, sweets and chocolates, if feeling generous then a gift card for costa/starbucks on a saturday!

blink3times · 16/09/2024 11:49

The revolution one has 25% off on boots website at the moment for those interested in that one.

Nerdle · 16/09/2024 11:51

I am going to make one this year with some earrings from Lovisa and that kind of thing as the only beauty ones she wants are over £100

Blueuggboots · 16/09/2024 13:24

The look fantastic one is £100.

Singleandproud · 16/09/2024 13:27

Just get a nicer chocolate one Lindt or similar.

Buy the beauty calendar she likes when they go on sale in January and use it as a countdown to her birthday, or back to school or other significant event.

GettingStuffed · 18/09/2024 11:06

A couple of years ago I did a jewellery one. On day 1 I had a charm bracelet and the rest of the days were charms, some Christmas themed but some not.

Thanks! I'll take advantage of this!

It all adds to the cost of Christmas. Why not just have a nice chocolate one. I had an unexpected bonus last year as a carer and I got a body shop one. I was able to use virtually everything in it.

Because I like it! I don't get much joy out of a chocolate calendar (and I'm old enough for picture calendars to have been the norm from my childhood). So I make a different choice.

Holland and Barrett have a pretty good calendar, lots of ethical brands

The W7 one I have just bought for my friends DD, it looks great!

hairyspiderleg · 25/10/2024 01:39

Pretty little thing also do an advent calender, think its half price at the moment.

Copperoliverbear · 25/10/2024 05:28

Clarins do one for £90

Tonys have a chocolate one

Candy kittens do a sweet one.

Jein · 25/10/2024 06:20

Photo calendar. Print 24 favourite photos and put them in bags or envelopes with a mini chocolate bar. Day 1 a photo album, big frame or white tack to display. It's fairly cheap and teens seem to love it as nobody prints photos any more.

lololulu · 25/10/2024 07:33

I've got my 14 year old the Ted Baker one and my 12 year old the Soap and Glory one.

Last year they both had Body Shop.

They are becoming very expensive.

JHip · 25/10/2024 07:49

Check Groupon and Wowcher lots of jewelry and beauty

I got this one last year for dd who was 15 and she loved it.

TransvestitesOnParade · 25/10/2024 10:21

My daughter is 13 in Jan, last year she had the Soap & Glory one from Boots. This year she's having the make up one from H&M.
