Advent Calendars

I’m just starting to think about advent calendars for Christmas and I wondered if anybody had tried the sweetzy one before?

I was also thinking of the food one that lots of people seem to get (but I can’t remember the name of it)

Any other recommendations would be great DS19, DD13, DH42 am trying to steer clear of makeup this time round (and I’ve already pre-ordered mine ☺️)

Can you tell me more about the retro one from a shop in York? I’m after something similar, but have no idea where to look or even what kind of shop. I rarely venture away from Sainsbury’s (because it’s the closest to me) or the corner shop so I need help!

nope, these are fakeries. The normal Advent calendar , Catholic, Anglican or Orthodox

Could anyone tell me if the sweetzy one has known brands in please?

The noodles one looked fab. Shame it is not for sale in the UK. Closest one I have seen is on Amazon and only has 12 doors.

It was half that price and superb. I really hope they do one this year as well. We use the contents every day. Especially things like the tea towel, bottle stopper, coasters, egg cup and so on. It was all brilliant and not a single item that you'd call tat.

I loved the Exit escape room one! Also seen someone wrap up 24 books/book related gifts in brown paper for book lovers - a couple were like cosy socks to wear while reading, new bookmark, sticky tabs, etc

Anyone else get their Bonne Maman calendar today? It said shipping would be mid October but mine came today - now I need to find somewhere for it!

Bonne Mamma - not bad but wasn’t overly impressed to have it again

we had a honey one last year - still ate honey in Summer

Tea - I had the Bird and Blend. Very weird flavours

I haven't yet but hope mine comes soon as we are thinking of going away just before half term and I was worried it will come while we are away. I didn't realise Ocado sold them as I could have saved on postage but it might be useful for someone else that they do.

Same here, I am just hoping it doesn't just get dumped on the doorstep if it comes while we are away! Interestingly you can redirect Royal Mail parcels now - I was visiting my mum and something was despatched earlier than I thought it would be and I was able to log in and delay delivery until I was back and when I was working at home.

The Bonne Maman came by APC delivery (a new one for me!) and did have options to reschedule - it was packaged really well and also had the extra bit that they said was likely to be delivered separately.

I might use some of the jams to make fruity -savoury sauces to go with meat/roasts!

Thanks @Celestiel i was going to ask who delivered it, the extra bit is a pot of hazelnut chocolate spread, yum. You get a free extra if you buy from Bonne Maman. At least I should be able to reschedule then, hopefully it will arrive before we go away

I’ve bought the Macmillan one for myself and my mom from Boots.

Sadly, only £2 from each one actually goes to the charity but I assume they are still happy with that to put their branding all over the front of it.

It retails for £90 but I paid £44 this week.

It has some good brands in it.

I’ve bought my DH a pork scratching one.
