What’s fashionable for this age range?

My daughter is a little bit younger but she and all her friends are obsessed by Sol de Janeiro.

I did get that for a slightly younger sibling. It’s a bit of a tricky age - don’t want it to be too childish or ‘sexy’!

I’ll have a look for gift sets. Thanks.

Miss Dior, it's expensive though.

Redhotchllisteppa · 14/07/2024 08:32

Marc Jacobs Daisy

grassyknees · 14/07/2024 08:34

The Zara perfumes are nice and are reasonable prices

StiffyByngsDogBartholomew · 14/07/2024 08:35

I bought some Sol de Janeiro on a flight to Mexico thinking it sounded quite nice for the holiday. Had never heard of it before but the purchase was greeted with wild excitement by 14yo Dd who despite having no interest in fashion or her appearance seemed to know everything about it. She seems to have used quite a lot of it since we got home and has begged me for her own bottle.

depending on how much you want to spend what about CK one ?

I can’t believe the price of fragrance nowadays! It’s a classic though.

Marc Jacobs Daisy

I’ve bought tonnes of this for different ages and loved by all. The design reminds me of swimming caps with flowers on.

Daisy is lovely, fresh, not sexy.

I tried these in store and they last so well.

Haha. Never been keen on CK myself - not sure why. I might need to have another sniff.

Ariana Grande perfumes have gone down well with my younger teen

D20 · 14/07/2024 08:44

Victoria Secrets was too sexy a vibe I’d say. I’ve bought underwear from there before but the overall impression get from the shop is a slightly more classy Ann Summers unfortunately.

That's a good point - does she have any celebrities she likes that have done perfumes ?

That’s exactly the brand that prompted me to ask! Wasn’t sure if it was a little cutesy looking?

Not really. Apart from TS but I believe that was discontinued.

Victoria Secrets do a Pink range which is 'younger' than the regular brand. The body sprays are popular. Sol de Janeiro body sprays are also favoured. Zara perfumes are nice and good quality, they are often dupes of more expensive brands. My teens (13 &17) wouldn't be impressed with Ariana Grande fragrances as she's not very current. Carolina Herrera Good Girl is another popular one in this age range if you're looking for a brand perfume.

I see what you mean re: AG. I was surprised to see Christina Aguilera and Britney fragrances still on the go.

My DD is 15. The Sol de Janeiro sprays are incredibly popular and you can't go wrong with them. The Victoria Secret body sprays in Bare Vanilla are also well received. Don't go for the adult oriented sprays by name, go for the ones in the Pink range.

Arianna Grande or Billie Eilish perfumes are also sought after by this age group.

Kayali perfumes are also popular.

Any of the Gisou hair perfumes or lip oils are also good.

Anything vanilla or gourmand fragrance goes down well with teenage girls.

At this stage, I could use this topic as my specialist subject on Mastermind

CeeceeBloomingdale · 14/07/2024 08:54

Yes they are rather passe now, I'm surprised too.

StiffyByngsDogBartholomew · 14/07/2024 08:55

Maybe a better idea would be a Fragrance Shop/boots voucher so she can have fun choosing her own ? Especially if you don't know her tastes very well, it would be pointless buying Billie Eilish for my Dd no matter how fashionable as she can't stand her.
dd would be absolutely beside herself to have £25 to spend on a perfume that she chose herself

isthismylifenow · 14/07/2024 08:58

Britney Spears Fantasy.

Honestly it's like a rite of passage for any young girl.

And there is a good chance you may want to have a spray of it every now and then.

I have the blue one and I'm 54 😃
