Morning!

It absolutely chucked it down in the small hours here. Then again after I'd put the washing out, because the forecast said dry, and it was sunny while I was getting dressed.

Office day today, then I have physio later on. Exciting times!

Morning!

Nice day here but busy day at work so I'm not approaching the washing - which i know i'll regret as even though i emptied it sunday the kids will have stuffed it to the brim with stuff they can't be arsed to hang up. Grrrr....

Can you imagine life before washing machines? It truly is one of lifes greatest inventions.

Good luck with the physio Fluffy and Happy Day to all.

TheBucktoothedGirlFromLuxembourg · 11/06/2024 09:27

Magnolia I'd go one further and add the tumble dryer to your great inventions list. We only use ours in the winter and it's only used for things that don't go on the heated airer but I thank God for it every year.

I have many siblings and can remember the great treat 😂 of taking the wet bedding to my granny's house and being allowed to use her mangle to get as much water out before taking them back home to peg out.

JenniferGreenHat · 11/06/2024 09:32

Good morning. Sunny here, one load out. Nearly reached the bottom of one basket, never been this close before. I typed a whole paragraph about my washing troubles, but didn’t dare admit to it on here, and deleted it. Let’s just say this is one huge achievement for me.

I’m back at the dentist today. Sigh. But only one more session after today until my treatment is finished, can’t believe I’ve got through it all. Started in March.

NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 12/06/2024 11:47

196 Morning.

Late start here as I went to see Pink last night. Have wanted to see her for years and she didn't disappoint.
Am very tired today.

Hope your physio went well Fluffy

Buck I've never owned a tumble dryer. My parents and sister think I'm mad - I muddle through with radiators, heated airer, the odd dry windy day sticking stuff on the line (although sometimes it does pile up and I send wet bedding, underwear and towels to my mums) Blush

Hoping the rain stays away so I can paint some trellis and a planter today (going to do coat 1 on my lunch and hopefully coat 2 when I finish).
I finally have my first rose of the season but the plant looks terrible because it's not supported at all and it's annoying me.

I did also randomly think earlier that I may have a look online to see if any cross stitch Christmas cards are in a sale anywhere. I've somehow backed myself in to a corner now where both my parents expect one (and my niece is obsessed with my sewing so she'd probably like one too).

TheBucktoothedGirlFromLuxembourg · 12/06/2024 13:41

I'm not sure how close you are to a Hobbycraft Meeces but they currently have £5 off a £15 spend and click and collect is free if you spend £10 or more. They've got cross stitch Christmas card kits for £2.50. Just call me an enabler 😬 I keep adding sewing stuff to my online basket and then closing it before I check out. I REALLY don't need to add another craft project despite the gorgeous patchwork tablemat video that I've watched a couple of dozen times making it look so easy 😂

Magnoliasunrise · 12/06/2024 16:10

I'm going to look at the Hobbycraft website now for some xmas craft project ideas. I did handpainted mugs with hot chocolate ingredients in last year- hot choc sachet, xmas tea spoon, marshmallows, mini gingerbread, candy cane etc. They looked quite nice.

SomeFiggyPudding · 12/06/2024 19:31

@NoCheesesForUsMeeces I don’t have a tumble dryer either!

I’ve filled a basket online at Hobbycraft. God I love that shop!!

Morning.

Dry morning, so far. It's grey and a bit gloomy though, and forecast to bucket down later on in time for DH to walk the dog!

We had a nice walk this morning. The 🐕 decides where we go, and he went round most of the woods! We saw a loose pony which was blocking the path, but it got moved on by its owner just as we were getting to it! 🐴

NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 13/06/2024 16:49

Well it's like winter here. Cold and wet 🙄

Finishing work soon then going to see ILs for a couple of hours.
I need an early night, I've got a headache and haven't been sleeping very well lately.

NoWordForFluffy · 13/06/2024 17:36

Same here, Meeces. I've been going round shutting all the windows! 🥶

My friend has gone to see Tay Tay tonight. That'll be bracing!

OP posts:
Magnoliasunrise · 13/06/2024 19:00

Yup same here and its been really windy.

Fingers crossed your friend will be bouncing around and wont feel the cold.

Hope you feel better after a good nights sleep Meeces.

Evening!

We've had sun/rain/sun today. More rain later, apparently.

I'm very glad it's the weekend. It's been a long old week!

OP posts:
TheBucktoothedGirlFromLuxembourg · 14/06/2024 19:20

We've had sun, rain, hail and thunderstorms. The only benefit of it not being gloriously Sunny is that you can't see my streaky patio windows 😳

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 14/06/2024 20:51

I took a chance and put a load of laundry out , none of my neighbours had washing out (I'm thinking what do they know that I don;t ? but it was fine)

Looking for presents for DD birthday , mainly jewellery and she wants a new pair of Levis .
I've told DH he can choose Sunday Dinner and I will cook it for Fathers Day -he doesn;t want a Sunday Roast .

I rewatched the last Inside Number 9 today , they all need at least a couple of watches . Then I might sit down and work my way through them all (again)

DH and I are going to see their live show next year < excited >Xmas Grin .
Steve Pemberton is my secret crush

It is pi**ing down here Xmas Hmm and windy .

Bonus - I don't need to water my plants
But my sweetpeas will be wrecked and I washed the car ( waste of time there )

Magnoliasunrise · 15/06/2024 07:12

Thats very annoying about the sweet peas 70 - I've never managed to grow any but my dad always manages zillions of them and they smell so lovely.

I've got to wake the kids up for their various sporting fixtures. 😬They will not be jumping out of bed with joy. Already looking forward to Summer (🤔) holidays.

NoWordForFluffy · 15/06/2024 12:19

Another mixed bag here today: sunny dog walk, monsoon season driving back from the hairdresser, gentle rain now, then apparently back to dry and sunny later this afternoon!

I love sweet peas, but have never grown any myself. Our astilbe are going to flower imminently. I can't wait! I also put 27 herb plug plants which I'd grown on in pots until they had bigger root structures along the fence this week. I'll hopefully have a lovely low hedge of lavender, rosemary, thyme and curry plants soon enough.

OP posts:
70isaLimitNotaTarget · 15/06/2024 18:52

I braved it round to Bluewater , raining on the way but luckily the monsoon weather (windscreen wipers going at mega speed ) waited till we got off the M25.

We;ve booked to go to a CatCafe in London for DD birthday - I know I could get cat hair in my food for nothing at home and we aren't adding to our feline numbers (you can apply to adopt the cats that are there )

NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 15/06/2024 19:04

I am very drunk on my way home from a boozy afternoon tea and catch up with my best friend who I don't see often. Am typing very carefully.
Should not shop after drinking - I've spent £50 on make up I don't need 😂

I grew sweet peas last year. Somehow got the plants muddled and thought I had 2 pots worth but one was actual beans of some sort and I'd did nt realise until there were pods. Oops.

NoWordForFluffy · 15/06/2024 19:17

We once bought £100 of JL Christmas decorations after an afternoon drinking! 🤣

OP posts:
NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 15/06/2024 19:37

I definitely can't do that.DH already has kittens about the amount of attic space is taken up by decs 😂
Suppose he wouldn't notice cross stitch kits though....

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 15/06/2024 21:14

Luckily I don;t drink at all otherwise my shopping habits would be worse .

I bought DD some jeans , a jacket and a pair of trousers ( those are for work- jeans for birthday) and some gold stacking rings from Etsy .

DH was judgey enough about my bargainous The Snowman loo roll ( he has no idea about the planning that goes into it )

Magnoliasunrise · 16/06/2024 13:41

Loving the drunken shopping stories, not had a tipsy purchase in ages.

I'm currently eating chocolate chip pannetone I found in the freezer - I don't even think its from last Christmas but the one before - tastes fine though. If I never come back to the thread you'll know what happened.

Just transplanted some calendula and sweet sultan (DD choice) seedlings and added another shake of spinach, rocket and mixed leaves seeds to the outside trough. The plan is to not have to buy any bags of salad over Summer 🤔.

Can't get over this wierd weather - don't know if to put suntan lotion or wellies on.
