My DS5 loves his mini microscope LED keyring which went in hit stocking. Expensive stocking filler but he’s been walking around all day looking at everything.

tell me your present hits you got for others or received yourself!

Socks. Moquette socks from the London Transport Museum and Haringey socks from Open City. Everyone put them straight on!

Lakrids licorice. It’s expensive so we only get it at Christmas but everyone loves it.

DH bought me a Rigaud candle in Cypres scent and it’s lovely.

The kids aren’t interested in anything except their Nintendo Switch.

Whattheduck · 27/12/2023 09:32

My Dd loved her wrap around hot water bottle she suffers with a bad back but also bad period pain she’s used it already and says it’s perfect.Another hit were her Bloch dance socks she’s at performing arts college and she can wear them for classes instead of shoes as they have a special grip on the sole.

How to draw manga figures book and set of alcohol markers for 9yo daughter. I saw her eyeing up the book in Waterstones and I know she wanted the markers but she didn't ask Santa for either. She's been drawing non stop.

SubParbanMum · 27/12/2023 09:45

So many air ups and Stanley cups - glad they were worth it, I know lots of people wondering whether to buy them.

another hit here - DD2 got a new baby doll but the tiny Harlow baby food is so good. A replica of the 90s magic food which disappears off the spoon.

@evilharpy ooo which markers did you buy?

Hoverboards for our two DDs aged 7&8. When we saw them on their lists we inwardly groaned thinking they were awful expensive and daddy. But to be fair I'd pay for them all over again for the fun they've had on them over the last few days! They are absolutely obsessed with them and so good at it in such a short space of time. Think we'll get a year out of them...

Helpel · 27/12/2023 09:48

Faddy not daddy!

Unescorted · 27/12/2023 09:55

Chopsticks with fancy tops and a pack of playing cards.

Shutupyoutart · 27/12/2023 09:58

Hits here have been. Dd2 phone, she's so happy with it she also loved her zombies doll and aphmau squishee cat thing. Dd1 asked for a hair curler and make up and skin care things she loves it all. Dd3 loves everything she is the youngest and spent ages going through every Individual gift and looking and playing with it. I think her fave thing tho is her brother's pop up mario she's played it with me about a million times lol. Ds who has asd and ADHD was a bit trickier to buy for but he was happy with his gifts too we got him crazy forts cos he loves to build things and he's currently going around with two pieces put together and pretending to ski with them😂 when I asked him what his fave present was he said erm of course the snacks lol 😂 my fave gift was one of the remaining harlen coben books that I haven't read yet and a golden snitch mini reading light from my mum. Love them .

DSC obsessed with the climbing frame with rock wall, rings etc for the garden ( it's like an adult sized play gym) . They have only come in to have food and drinks and back out playing since 11am on Christmas Day.

My toddler is very jealous and trying to join in put it obsessed with his mini trampoline and a light up skateboard

mamaduckbone · 27/12/2023 10:05

Both dc (18 and 14) knew what their main present would be so they were obviously a hit, but surprises that went down well were:

Ds18 - a framed picture of his favourite album cover

Ds14 - some cheap and cheerful earbuds - last minute TK Maxx purchase which haven't been out of his ears

Both of them - portable charging blocks for their phones

Wow that sounds like something ds would love for his birthday have you got a link to it?

AhBiscuits · 27/12/2023 10:06

DD (8) Garmin Vivofit Jnr. She absolutely loves it and spent much of yesterday running laps of the house to try and get the most steps.

DS (6) This microscope. We caught a woodlouse for him to look at and he was absolutely fascinated https://amzn.eu/d/dtsgcP4

Me (43) Dyson Airwrap

Previousreligion · 27/12/2023 10:13

Melissa and doug ice-cream counter! For DC(3).

AhBiscuits · 27/12/2023 10:23

DH (42) a Lego McLaren. It's kept him occupied for hours.

Scout2016 · 27/12/2023 10:31

@flowerchild2000 I'd be interested in knowing about the hologram pet too please. Sounds ace.

crazyBadger · 27/12/2023 10:41

Magnetism game...

Honestly everyone has loved it at all ages, it's basically 20 magnetic balls... Last minute addition to even out the piles.

SubParbanMum · 27/12/2023 11:19

@Scout2016 I’m pretty sure it’s Bitzee. Saw them advertised a lot, they look great.

OP posts:
AhBiscuits · 27/12/2023 11:29

Yes Bitzee, my kids got them. They are fun.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 27/12/2023 11:33

DD1 (23) loved her stationery with a funny slogan that suits her job and her craft kits.

DD2 (19) loved her perfume and necklaces.

DMum liked her pandora charm.

DSis1 (46) loved her sweary calendar and chocs.

And DSis 2 LOVED her dragon shaped cushion (she's 45!)

I got fab presents from everyone this year - nothing that made me go wtf or wonder why they chose that for me. It was a great year!

DiamandaTheGreat · 27/12/2023 11:41

My kids were very pleased with teddy-covered V-shaped cushions for reading in bed (Dunelm) and those bloody erasable pens 😂

Sunriseandcoffee · 27/12/2023 11:44

My son (6) absolutely loves his Lego arctic explorer set & his Vtech Kidi DJ mix toy.

Scout2016 · 27/12/2023 11:57

@SubParbanMum @AhBiscuits thanks. Not heard of them but they do look cool. And small which is a bonus. Although will need to watch some videos to work out what they actually do...DD has early February birthday.

Most things were winners here, including a few off bargain thread. For DD things not off her list were little rucksacks with stationery in, rex london stocking fillers like specs case and prank chewing gum with a cockroach in. Also soft throw from a relative, light up alarm clock and pyjamas.

Sister loved house of disaster cup from Lisa angel, and earrings from a Facebook group sale someone on here recommended called Paper Panda and Friends Emporium. She has a Pop City book on New York she's been reading every minute too.

My best gifts were a necklace in suffragette colour raw gem stones from People Too and hoodie from EMP.

ITSSSSCHRISTMASSS · 27/12/2023 12:05

Already said dd6, but DD11 is a sonic screwdriver, it’s not left her hand, but its also not a surprise as it was top of her Santa list.

DD9 a great big cushion of Max from Stranger Things, it takes up half of her bed but she loves it, that and a shark squishy mellow her sisters got her. O and her framed cast photo from Stranger Things.

DH really loves a candle I bought him. Last year I bought him some mindfulness ones but I couldn’t find them this year and ended up getting him an imperial candle with a mans bracelet, he hasn’t got the bracelet yet as he’s not lit it, but he loves the smell and looking forward to lighting it when he goes back to work in his home office.

Also On top of her microphone DD6 is loving a book of times tables I bought off shein for pennies. She’s already almost finished it and has asked if she can have another.

ShortColdandGrey · 27/12/2023 12:28

Cat teddy that was stuffed in a tin. We were very surprised at the size of the cat once it was removed from the tin 😂 She is in love with him
