One million

at least 😀

maslinpan · 26/12/2023 11:05

Definitely more than usual but I have never counted calories.

Mumof1andacat · 26/12/2023 11:05

Does it matter?

Whatsthestorynow · 26/12/2023 11:06

Don’t care

PickAChew · 26/12/2023 11:08

Not many more than usual. Didn't have a particularly enormous lunch and was feeling a bit off, afterwards, so didn't eat much more.

AncientBallerina · 26/12/2023 11:08

It is possible to have a great Christmas Day without over eating. Where has this thing of stuffing yourself come from?

i didnt stuff myself i just ate food that i enjoyed did you enjoy your food yesterday?

Gnomegnomegnome · 26/12/2023 11:18

No idea but also don’t care. I did have far too much alcohol though.

Breakfast was watermelon
Lunch was veggie Christmas dinner
Didn’t have pudding (full from the roast)
Snacked on cheese in the evening.

One glass of Champagne
A bottle of white wine and then it all got a bit much after a few rums!

Poblano · 26/12/2023 11:21

Roughly 2500. Out of curiosity I worked it out on MFP. This is more than usual, but not excessive.

I had a croissant with jam, black coffee and a cranberry mimosa for breakfast. Turkey, stuffing, pigs in blankets, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, carrot and swede mash, sprouts and gravy followed by trifle for lunch. Two glasses of wine. Cheese and crackers in the evening, plus a couple of mini mince pies.

Hibernatalie · 26/12/2023 11:32

No idea but guessing thousands

NotmySundaybest · 26/12/2023 11:33

Think my calories will be from
Alcohol. Bucks Fizz at breakfast. Half bottle of red wine with dinner. Half bottle of rose cava then x2 cheeky vimtos

gamerchick · 26/12/2023 11:34

2,595 cals yesterday. MFP told me off Grin But meh it's Christmas day, it's not everyday

Waitingfordoggo · 26/12/2023 11:35

Don’t know. Had a bacon butty for breakfast, Christmas dinner and pud. Bit of cheese and crackers in the eve and then some choc. No booze. So more than an average day but not by loads.

thefallen · 26/12/2023 11:36

Oh honestly, who gives a shit? It's one day.

SnowRoomAtTheInn · 26/12/2023 11:37

Oh, loads! I’ve never counted calories, though, so no clue on the actual figure.

Chocolate early doors
Bacon, eggs & crusty baguette with butter for breakfast
A massive Indian late lunch
No booze as I don’t drink BUT Xmas pud and trifle in the evening

Its Christmas!

Chuffaluffa · 26/12/2023 11:40

what is the point of posts like this?

possible outcomes I see:
you’ve eaten loads and had a wonderful time and this is the first time you’ve even considered calories and now you feel guilty for something you absolutely have no reason to feel guilty about.

you didn’t eat loads because you already calorie count, and thinking that other people also think this is normal behaviour enforces your perspective

you ate loads and were already beating yourself up about it, and the comparisons make you feel worse.

you barely ate and you feel smug and want to share your virtue with anonymous people on the internet who couldn’t give a shiny shit.

wtf?

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 26/12/2023 11:49

In food, 1600kcals, plus another 900 in alcohol, just stuck it into Nutracheck to see.

WombatBombat · 26/12/2023 12:02

About 2800 total. My maintenance calories are about 2300 but I’ve been eating at about 1900 all last week to take into account Christmas Day & Boxing Day!

It comes from ancient times. Pagans would eat huge feasts to celebrate the winter solstice. It continued through Roman times and through the Middle Ages. It was originally a chance to use up the remnants of the harvest to fatten yourself up for winter, when food would have been more scare. It’s become a tradition.

FiddleLeaf · 26/12/2023 12:07

I tipped over 2,000. Was stuffed so missed dinner entirely which helped.

Still feeling quite round now 😄

It's just fun to think about, chill.

Friedfriedplantain · 26/12/2023 12:11

I'm none of your options anyway .

I didn't eat till I was overfull but I had wine and didn't restrict at all so I reckon at least 3000 - it's always more than I think lol. But it's Christmas. And I say that as someone on a diet,

christmaspawpaws · 26/12/2023 12:13

Pass. Not many

Had 2 crumpets with butter and jam
A mince pie and a latte with my dad
A protein shake
Few mouthfuls of some chicken I was cooking for the freezer
Pizza (which was 800 cals)

Then did a spin class
