It's a leap year next year, so an extra day to wait!

I've ordered 120 baubles today, as WeRChristmas sent me a 50% code for today only. Annoyingly I could get our new tree way cheaper today! 😭

I'm exhausted now I've finally had time to sit and relax. Tomorrow is a chill day.

I bought cracker and stocking fillers from Rex London earlier, so that's this year started (other than having bought the crackers kit as well).

That's far more productive than my day, MrsD, though I did return something to Pets at Home, and collected an order from Dunelm (a shelf for the en suite). So many house purchases still, and we had a full house of furniture! Thank god we weren't starting from scratch. Also, I'm glad our house came with floor coverings, as not all of them did. It would cost a fortune to carpet the place.

We've had Christmas with DMIL today, as she was visiting DSIL for Christmas. Was lovely, although she cooked the sprouts and then forgot to serve them up!

Our decorations are still up and probably will be until 12th night. Not for any other reason than that's going to be the first chance I get to take them down!

It's set to be wet here today. We're doing more jobs at the old house to attempt to stave off attempted (I shall fight all attempts!) deposit return reductions! Our STBEx landlord is a tight, grasping, twat, however, so will no doubt try.

I was tempted by the bum vase but we're doing a 'no unnecessary spending' thing for January. Bills, food shopping and birthdays only (unless it's with our own 'fun money').

It's my last day off today so we're going to pick up DHs Christmas gift off his dad (new trainers) and I have my dentist appointment later. Fingers crossed it's nothing too awful because I'm already in pain and I hate the dentist 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Fluffy don't landlords have to have a really good case to be able to retain a deposit these days?
I always think it's awful if they try and keep some from a long term tenant who has no doubt covered their mortgage and given them profit for a long time (and looked after the house the way you have).

They do, Meeces. But I don't think it would stop him trying (he's not even the legal landlord, he's the partner of the woman who bought the house for cash and is named on the tenancy as landlady). He's a horrible, horrible man.

They don't seem to have clicked about my profession yet, which is unfortunate for them! 😬🤣

Jumping on if that's OK? Took our tree down on 31st December. I always take it down before New Year, but this year feel really flat that it's been put away. Me and ds2 are back to work and school tomorrow (dreading it) and OH and ds1 are back on Monday. I haven't bought anything for Xmas yet, but started putting money away for it 🙂 It went so quickly this year fir some reason and loved every second of it. Wish I could rewind and enjoy it again. Aww well. Not long till the next one 😆

I know my DM would love a bum vase 😂 Mother's Day is also coming up, too! I wouldn't mind a bum vase myself. Might send DH a link.

Had some Christmas bits arrive today from vinted. 2 tule Christmas skirts and a red bolero for DD. I just need to think of somewhere to store them now until December.

People think I’m crazy for starting my Christmas shopping so early so it’s good to know I’m not the only one 😂

I normally try to buy a few gifts on Boxing Day but I didn’t have the money this year so I’ve only bought 3 gifts for next year but it’s better than nothing!! I’ve got my friend a LUSH Snow Fairy Shower Gel, a paint your own train money box for ds who will be 3 next Christmas and a book called Is Your Cat A Psychopath? For my parents 😋

I took my Christmas cards down today. The windowsill looks bare without them but also refreshingly clean, which is odd because it wasn't dirty and got wiped weekly then the cards put back.

Very wet here today to start. Meant to be dry from 9 though. I've trusted this and my second load of washing is on the go!

Soggy dog walk plus the large item collection conundrum from the council where it has to be put from 6.30, but also not wet! Keeping a sofa dry is fun!
