It's a leap year next year, so an extra day to wait!

I've ordered 120 baubles today, as WeRChristmas sent me a 50% code for today only. Annoyingly I could get our new tree way cheaper today! 😭

I'm exhausted now I've finally had time to sit and relax. Tomorrow is a chill day.

Xmas Grin

I've not built a new patio...yet! 😬🤣

It was really good fun. I recommend for geeky people! (It was from a website called Killer Trails which has trails in cities around the country.)

OP posts:
70isaLimitNotaTarget · 05/04/2024 18:04

I had a look at the site there's two trails in London.
We like Ripper Walks and Ghost Walks so this looks along the same lines ..... there's loads in the Cities that probably are right under our noses but go un-noticed

Patio building is a Bank Holiday project Fluffy so there's still plenty of time ........

I had washing out today it was really windy but dry which was ideal.
Yesterday I went outside for 3 minutes (at work) and the heavens opened , I got drenched

Bedtime now.

It's haircut day tomorrow, plus I'm taking DD to get her eyes tested as she's saying things are blurry at distance.

I need to squeeze in cleaning the kitchen too. Plus finding washing to do as it's corking drying weather! 🤣

I did loads of tidying today <Gold Star to me>
Dropped DD at work , got breakfast from Greggs , made a very nice vegetraian shepherds pie , cleaned the bathroom , did a couple of loads of washing and cleaned the Kitchen Cupboards of Doom (the ones that are like an avalanche of detritus and I think Oh I must clean them )
Found a mandoline tucked away ...

London tomorrow then hopefully if it stays nice some gardening on Sunday .

NoWordForFluffy · 06/04/2024 00:24

Have you watched Clarkson's Farm when he came a cropper using a mandolin? 😬 🩸 👆I don't fancy using one, given my relationship with inanimate objects being hostile at best they all try to kill me!

OP posts:
70isaLimitNotaTarget · 06/04/2024 00:30

I also came a cropper which is why its been stashed away in the Cupboard of Doom for so long .

There's a protective guard for my hands ,, I'll give it a go and hope Xmas Grin

I bought myself some nice ProCook knives for Christmas , DH was all "I don't like your new knives I cut myself" <aww>

NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 06/04/2024 16:51

I enjoyed that episode Fluffy mostly because I don't like Clarkson 😏

It's getting to the end of our last day now. Flying home late tonight and I'm ready for my own bed. My feet are aching and we've had a random hot day today so I've caught the sun (that's code for having heat rash and moaning non stop about feeling my skin burn).

Did buy another Christmas Dec though... oops Xmas Blush

70 DH has some Sabatier knives and a Henkel. Everytime I touch one he warns me "they're like razors, be careful" 😂

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 06/04/2024 20:44

We went to see "Mind Mangler" at the Apollo , ( it;s from the Mischief team who brought The Play That Goes Wrong ) very funny , very silly Grin but its my kind of thing .

I'm going to do a batch of cookies to bribe DS and DD tomorrow for breakfast - bake some /freeze some dough for later .

Just been watching some of the Christmas based YouTube videoes from "Sorted" ( four blokes , one a chef )

I need to wander into town to pick up an M&S order then some planting of little seedlings

NoWordForFluffy · 07/04/2024 10:45

It's sunny and very windy here. 6am was LOUD. 😩😩 However, this makes for a cracking drying day, as it's also sunny. We are therefore washing everything we own. 🤣🤣

I need to clean the bathrooms / all the doors, visible woodwork and window frames then do DD's DLA application. I'd prefer to be cross stitching, though it's all sky at the moment which is getting a wee bit tedious! Only 5 more A3 pages to go after this one.

Today was the first day that I hung laundry outdoors. I even brought it in and ironed it 😇 it's forecast to rain for the next couple of days now though.

Morning!

We hang washing out all year, but have the benefit of the coastal breeze. The weather here was wet yesterday and is wet until mid-afternoon today, with 50mph winds. Just the right weather for my day in the office! 😩

We have washing going on later to be put out once the rain stops. Should dry quickly in the wind! 🤣

Magnoliasunrise · 09/04/2024 07:48

Morning! Had a great drying day yesterday in London got about 4 loads done but today looking quite wet so I'm envious of your coastal breeze Fluffy. I do love a good drying day. Hanging washing out seems to be quite marmite but I'm originally from the north so I think its in my bones 😂

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 09/04/2024 08:00

I always hang washing out if it is dry enough, all year. It is gutting that it is pouring with rain today so I can't put any out.

NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 09/04/2024 09:19

I shut my washing line down for winter (literally collapsed it and put a cover on) and it hasn't been used since then as the only nice drying days we had were when I was away. It rained non stop yesterday and today looks like it'll be similar.

Also, a friend who lives a minute away mentioned that she seems to be having a lot of ladybirds in her garden and has brought quite a few in the house on the washing. I hate them so that's putting me off 🤢

Hope your office day goes ok Fluffy

I'm at work but struggling to get back into the rhythm of it.

I laid out the Christmas decs I bought on the trips over Easter. I've left them on the mantle piece - when DH spotted them yesterday his eyes almost rolled inside his head Xmas Grin

Hahahaha but if you get pleaure out of them @NoCheesesForUsMeeces DH will understand, even though it is April 😃

I want to hang washing out out. but even if it's dry the garden is so waterlogged I need wellies to get down there 😆

NoWordForFluffy · 10/04/2024 13:25

Afternoon!

Another bloody wet day here. One day we will have a 24 hour period at least without rain. One day! 😩

Thankfully it started dry, so the dog walk wasn't a wash out. 😁

Ladybirds are needed, Meeces. Hopefully you can avoid them though!

OP posts:
NoWordForFluffy · 10/04/2024 13:27

@belgiumchocolates, our garden is a quagmire. 😩 And ploughed by the dog in a zoomie circle. 🤣

OP posts:
NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 10/04/2024 15:43

I have no issues with ladybirds being out in the world and doing their thing Fluffy, I just hate the way they randomly dive bomb you, and if they fly near me they freak me out Blush
Absolutely cannot handle them being in the house though. I want to squish them but they leave yellow goo which stains.

Christmas decs are only out so I could send a pic of them to my mum (who asked).

I have jusy rediscovered a Christmas gift I was given though. It's a small Cath Kidston tin - it has hand cream in but the main thing is the tin. It's so pretty (pic).

It's freezing here today, and I'm home alone for a few days so I'll be going for a rainy walk after work then cosying up with the latest Real CSI on bbc and the cross stitch I started yesterday 😊

That's a lovely tin @NoCheesesForUsMeeces I've got a gingerbread man tin that had biscuits in when we stayed at the Premier Inn last Christmas. I kept it to refill it with something but I haven't been able to find something suitable.

TheBucktoothedGirlFromLuxembourg · 10/04/2024 20:39

I bought my first present today - concert tickets for DS

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 10/04/2024 21:00

Oh my insect bête noire is moths .
I'm ok with butterflies but moths have nasty little powdery bodies and no sense of social distancing ,

I have a Christmas Window cling now .

Buck what tickets (or are you worried your DS spies on MN so he'll see ? Xmas Grin )

TheBucktoothedGirlFromLuxembourg · 10/04/2024 21:05

Nah he knows already 70. It's Dream Theatre. (Prog rock oldies). He's into prog and metal mainly but in the Venn Diagram of "music that my parents like" we agree on Genesis, Queen and Muse.

Tip Toes over the rest of the Christmas Countdowners who are either ver' ver' busy or sleeping Xmas Grin

I pottered out to get the Greggs ( Friday Breakfast Tradition) then went up to That London with DS .

I'm in the middle of washing /hanging out laundry , thinking about dinner and eating honey roast peanuts
