It's a leap year next year, so an extra day to wait!

I've ordered 120 baubles today, as WeRChristmas sent me a 50% code for today only. Annoyingly I could get our new tree way cheaper today! 😭

I'm exhausted now I've finally had time to sit and relax. Tomorrow is a chill day.

I've been rubbish at my cross stitch for the last 12 months. Getting the dog, the shoulder op and moving house set me right back. I'm still doing the one I started last January for Mother's Day. Maybe this year, eh?! 🙈🤣

Hi Belgium! Welcome!

You sound very creative *Schneekugal!
I'm a crocheter and cross stitcher (and still in complete beginner phase of knitting and sewing machine use).
I'd like to do embroidery too & quilt making too.

What are you knitting why? I hope you've got your feet up now Brew

Which cross stitch is it Fluffy? I think you have enough excuses for letting that drop!

I've made a very rough and ready tester square for the fairy light blanket. The square is pretty small so I'd need to make a million of them.
I'm going to add another round and a border and hoping that gets it to a decent enough size.

That's pretty @NoCheesesForUsMeeces

What are you knitting @whydoesitalwayshappentome ? I'm knitting a hat as a commission for a friend in an online craft group. It's beautiful hand dyed yarn 🌈

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 02/02/2024 07:41

327 My plan is to make a blanket Buck but as I can only manage a few rows at a time it will take me ages before it is finished.

NoWordForFluffy · 02/02/2024 14:53

Meeces, I'm doing the Queen and Paddington. I'm at the confetti stage and it's bloody irritating.

It's grey and windy here today. Always so bloody windy!

NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 02/02/2024 16:51

I don't think I've seen that one Fluffy. Sympathy though, confetti stitches are the worst!

I'm struggling to keep my eyes open today. Not sure why, I slept fine last night.

Have finished work and cleaned the kitchen. Having a cuppa now and waiting for DH to arrive with chaos the food shopping.

Going to start making the 'bulbs' of my blanket tonight I think Xmas Smile

I am sooooo useless at any crafts involving thread, yarn or needles. Except the obligatory school dress up (Roman Day/Australia Day/India Day/Egypt Day/WW2 Day/Victorian Child Day /CiN Pudsey Bear Spots .....the list goes on ) costumes . And Hallowe'en.

Thanks for the welcome everyone

Unfortunately I have no crafting abilities but I really like the idea of doing something on 25th of every month to prepare for next Christmas.

Today I receiced my amazon order of snowman toilet rolls which I wanted last Christmas and now has £10 off

Thats so funny.

So if you ordered same as me 40 rolls. My family is very heavy on loo roll so 1 roll at least a day. Therefore I intend to launch my Snowman loo roll on 01/12/2024.

At that rate it will only last me 1 Christmas. Maybe I should order more now while it's on offer 🤔☃

NoWordForFluffy · 02/02/2024 22:28

I alternate Snowman loo roll with normal loo roll for the first 10 days. Then it's Snowman only. We get through about 20 rolls that way.

Genius

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 03/02/2024 00:03

@belgiumchocolates I can see you are going to be a Bad Influence fit right in here Xmas Grin

I have ordered The Snowman Loo Roll too .
My DH will be Xmas Hmm but now Wilko has gone ( though they didn't have this for the past couple of years ) I have to stalk the Aldi website or look out for a post ( I think @NoWordForFluffy sounded the Snowman Alarm last year )

So , something ticked off my list , I'm sure I can hide it in the little bedroom .

I usually alternate with The Snowman and M&S Silver Star .
Dec 1st is Christmas Toilet Paper Day

Schneekugel · 03/02/2024 00:15

I never knew Christmas toilet paper was a thing! goes off to investigate

Where have you been hiding yourself ? Xmas Grin

Didn't realise it'd gone past midnight

I do the loo roll , hand towels , shower curtain , tea towels , bedding, Christmas oilcloth for the table , cushions for he sofa and dining chair pads and Christmas straws

Everything is brought out for Dec 1st , I'm sure the rest of the house are What the Jeff though DD goes full-on-festive .

I don't have loo seat covers you;ll be glad to hear !

Schneekugel · 03/02/2024 00:28

Inside a very non-christmassy family 70. Decided to shake things up a bit this year.

Magnoliasunrise · 03/02/2024 07:16

Yipppeee you've just given me a new tradition <goes off to purchase the snowman loo roll>

Happy weekend all!

lucysmam · 03/02/2024 08:28

<trots off to amazon> I missed the Snowman loo roll this year no one else is remotely fussed either way

NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 03/02/2024 10:05

I've only done the snowman loo roll twice. DH was not amused so I essentially saved it until the nieces and nephews were here. Niece thought it was great, nephew absolutely refused to wipe his bum on the snowman Xmas Grin

I do have Christmas hand towels, tea towels, plates, cups, cushions and the awesome Christmas tree tea cosy.

I need a wipe clean Christmas table cloth but have yet to find one that I like.

Schneekugal what made you want to change things this year?

NoWordForFluffy · 03/02/2024 10:11

We do hand towels, tea towels, bath mats (the ones you stand on when you get out), loo roll, tea cosy (thanks to Buck!), bedding and cushions.

We have a butter dish which we only use when we're hosting as it's too small for a whole block of butter. 🙄

I do not have a crafty bone in my body.

Have been food shopping def more expensive every week. Taking dd to collect her glasses this afternoon and will get her prescription whilst we’re there. I’ve run out of foundation but am too broke to get anymore which is annoying. I look dead without it 😅

TheBucktoothedGirlFromLuxembourg · 03/02/2024 11:24

I've got hand towels, tea towels, a pinny I wear when cooking Christmas dinner, cushions and a few Spode Christmas Tree serving dishes. DD2 has Christmas bedding and I have a Christmas pillow for our bed. Never wiped my bum with The Snowman and suspect it might be a Christmas 'thing' too far for my long suffering husband 😂

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 03/02/2024 13:36

BuckTooth everyone needs loo roll , (and towels and bedsheets/duvet cover ) so why not The Snowman Xmas Grin

My DC always use paper straws so I have straws for all seasons ( I know , I know)

My DH noticed the loo roll order on the Amazon alerts and said Are you going to store all this in one pack ? . He knows better than to question ..<mwah ha ha>
And if i buy it now , I save a trip to Aldi and buying things from The Aisle of Wonder that I don't need but I'll have FOMO if I don't ,

belgiumchocolates · 03/02/2024 15:55

I also have my eye on the matching snowman kitchen towel, currently £5.99 but I'm holding out for a reduction 🤔

I like the idea of Christmas tea towels and a pinny, off to investigate the optionsXmas Smile
