Nothing too difficult to learn, they'll probably want to play it on Christmas Day. Any ideas?

They have Dixit
Cards against humanity family edition
Labyrinth

We like ticket to ride

Thats a favourite here too. Along with the Logo games

MigGirl · 15/12/2023 12:14

Ticket to ride is a good one and easy to pick up.

FiveCows · 15/12/2023 12:15

Cluedo

Peabody25 · 15/12/2023 12:31

Herd mentality
Different version of Labyrinth like the 3d one
Exploding kittens
Scrabble

We love Discovering Europe and it's really helped the kids understand the geography of Europe

KnottyKnitting · 15/12/2023 12:46

The family edition of Cards against humanity is an absolute hoot! We also love Articulate ( except my two DDs are too good at it and DH and I always lose!)

WrittenInBlue · 15/12/2023 12:47

Catan.

collywobble · 15/12/2023 12:48

We got Chameleon last year and all my teens adored it. Articulate and scattegories always go down well too as do exploding kittens.

JassyRadlett · 15/12/2023 12:49

We love Ticket To Ride, Articulate, Race Across The World, and Who Knows Where.

Tummelthecat · 15/12/2023 12:49

Azul is teally good, but only for 2-4 players.

Dinodrivingacar · 15/12/2023 12:51

If you watched the series "traitors" they have a board game out which is good.

A card game- saboteur. Can get from Amazon. Easy to play and great fun.

My teens love monopoly cheaters edition, trivial pursuit, Labyrinth, exploding kittens and the horrible histories board game

Blueberry40 · 15/12/2023 12:51

Articulate (definitely an all round fave for Christmas) and Weird things people look up on the internet (I think it’s called) for a silly game that is just good fun and easy to play- my 16-18 yr old kids and partners loved it.

savingmysanity · 15/12/2023 12:53

Catan, ticket to ride and dobble

Omg me and my best friend used to play this all the time when I was in primary school…I’m now 48!!! Loved it

BassAce · 15/12/2023 13:02

My two really enjoyed Six Second Scribble, which is essentially a Pictionary style game, but you get a list of ten items within a category to sketch in a very tiny timeframe - meaning even if you are good at drawing you don’t have time to do more than capture the very basic essence of something. Categories come in a range of Easy, Hard and Almost Impossible so it works across a wide age range or drawing skill set. Everything from drawing a list of 10 Foods beginning with the letter B, to 10 well-known children’s books, to 10 defining moments in history.

Weve been playing it weekly since I got it two months ago, and have just bought the expansion pack to increase, we enjoyed it that much.

For reference, our other favourite game is also the Cards Against Humanity family edition, so we’re probably working with similar minded children!

Cranium

Bleepbloopbluurp · 15/12/2023 13:13

Exploding Kittens

Bleepbloopbluurp · 15/12/2023 13:14

*not technically a board game but my teens have been known to play for ages

Fizbosshoes · 15/12/2023 14:43

My teens like the ultimate board game, it's a mash-up of charades, taboo, balderdash, pictionary etc so less repetitive

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 15/12/2023 19:09

We like ticket to ride, pandemic 😳, exploding kittens and five second rule. Five second rule is great because there's not much set up and no complicated rules to get your head round.

mylittleprince · 15/12/2023 19:30

We bought exploding kittens last Christmas, not sure if we misunderstood the instructions but it wasn't really any fun. I think it only got played the once.
