I'm stuck!

She doesn't know what she wants. Ive no idea what to get her. I have small gifts and in-laws have bought her jewellery. Need a main present around £100! She has had her bday today and got perfume and gym shark leggings and cinema trip. All ideas for Xmas welcomed!

Likes/hobbies:
Netball
Eclectic music taste
Skin care
Lying in her bed doing sweet fa.

Ooh what about a big squishy cuddle pillow from Dunelm
www.dunelm.com/product/teddy-bear-cuddle-cushion-1000204056?defaultSkuId=30836594&colour=Teddy+Grey

Otherwise how about

Perfume
Jewellery
Tickets to a theatre show

If you spend 10 minutes on Instagram you will see all the young girls are currently obsessed with airwrap hair stylers and overnight curls - if her hair is long she might like playing around with the style? The proper Dyson Airwrap is £250+ even refurbished from their outlet (refurbished but looks brand new) but there are copycat stylers for under £100. MagicCurl multi styler gets good reviews.

And they're all using these bouncy blow dry brushes like the Mermade Hair blow dry brush.

Or if she's into fitness how about a set of dumbbells in different weights?

Noise-cancelling headphones?

Don't spend £100 "just because" if there's nothing particular she wants. Does she know that's the budget and can't think of anything at that level of cost - but actually would be happy with the latest Heartstopper novel (cost = around 7 quid).
Ask her if there is anything special she wants that's around £20 and save the £80 for another time - when there might be something special that pops up that she would like or wants.

Love that cuddle cushion I think all 3 of mine would love that!

Voucher for H&M. Make up. Pjs, onesies, lounging kit. Costa / Starbucks voucher

imnotthatkindofmum · 08/12/2023 18:30

Air wrap is a good idea. I will investigate.

Tbh I'm happy to spend less but atm she just has a cheap oodie and some primark leggings and SHEIN hoody. It just doesn't feel special iyswim?

Air pods?

Needmorelego · 08/12/2023 18:35

@imnotthatkindofmum it's not really "special" though if she doesn't really 100% want anything particular.
It feels forced.
I don't mean that horribly - I am just remembering a few disappointing random things my mum got me when I was a teen (like a hair styling thing) when I would have been happy with some paperback books.

imnotthatkindofmum · 08/12/2023 18:36

Fair point. I'm actually loving the teddy cushion posted up thread. Her sister said she'd love it!

Record player?

Tumbler2121 · 08/12/2023 18:47

I took my granddaughter to TK Maxx with a loose budget, she really enjoyed it and got lots of items that I wouldn't have bought for her!

The reason I suggested the cushion is that I got one for my home-loving DD14 on her birthday (months ago) and she absolutely loved it, and of course didn't expect it/was surprised as she hadn't asked for one. She's barely left her bed since! I fancy getting myself one as it's so comfy!

Usuallyjustscrolling · 08/12/2023 19:33

If she's into music what about a record player or ticket master voucher so she can get gig tickets when there is something she wants to see?

Nearlyadoctor · 08/12/2023 19:41

Ugg boots
Cloud nine hair straighteners
Chanel Gabrielle perfume
Passenger sleep sack
GHD hairdryer

All things my DD 16 has wanted or loves

Lindy2 · 08/12/2023 19:49

Mine likes doing things rather than actual presents.

So far a sushi making class and a chocolate making workshop have been her favourites.

Bananaman123 · 08/12/2023 19:53

Kitsch pillow case
babyliss reflections mirror
Wireless earphones
pillow with built in speakers
watch
dkny bag, tkmaxx have some under 80

Ohthatsfabulousdarling · 08/12/2023 20:16

Erm, from my DD 15s list,
Ordinary skincare- it's great stuff, not expensive either for what it is.
Aldi have Christian dior dupe lip oils at the moment- £3.99- tho I havent managed to get my mitts on them!
Aldi also has the dupe of the lush snow fairy shower gel and some self heating face masks.
Revolution has a brow setting set that DD and her friends particularly love the idea of at the moment.

Charlotte Tilbury setting spray (tho aldi has a dupe- haven't tried it myself)

Pixi bronzer stick
Elf eyeshadow stick
Lip set- I'm presuming she means Charlotte Tilbury or Kylie.

What about giving her gig tickets so you have an experience to enjoy together.

Sunsept · 08/12/2023 20:23

Does she wear makeup? I say this on every thread but my DD16 is obsessed with Dior lip gloss - you can get gift sets too. If you order directly from Dior, it will arrive beautifully packaged, it’s really lovely. Free postage and a couple of samples included too.

However, Boots have currently got a great deal atm. Spend over £100 and you get a free gift with it (embossed make up bag and mini samples).

Sunsept · 08/12/2023 20:27

Other suggestions:

spotify membership (my DD16 wants this, £99)
echo dot
airpods

My DC have had the cuddle cushions from Dunelm and they’re ok - I found they pick up a lot of fluff/crumbs and go matted quite quickly.

Picklemeyellow · 08/12/2023 20:37

Well, this is from my dd15 list (and she won’t be getting them all as some are ridiculously expensive),

white noise machine (to help her get to sleep)
Asda Guinea pig hot water bottle
Bumble and Bumble Sunday shampoo
Monday shampoo and conditioner
Anything by Sol de janeiro
Any Ariana Grande perfume
Calvin Klein underwear
Named Collective hoodie and joggers (I will not be purchasing this expensive tatt lol)
White Fox hoodie
Nike fleece tech hoodie
Stussy hoodie
(think it’s apparent dd has a penchant for hoodies)
Anything from Hidden Cult (btw, until this list came my way I’d not heard of 99% of these brands)

Oh and I’ve bought her a spinning sunflower necklace, similar to one she had seen on Tik Tok.
