I remembered a thread from a couple of years ago, have just had a quick look on eBay, and YES! He is back again! Feast your eyes on this year's delight! (And no, I'm not affiliated in any way whatsoever, good god, no!)

Ever hopeful with the pricing. 😂
I was thinking about this just the other day.

HamHand · 03/12/2023 17:55

It literally never went away, this has been on my watch list forever 😂

OldTinHat · 03/12/2023 18:15

I was really mean a couple of years ago and asked if I could view it in person before deciding to purchase. I wanted to know if it was as crap 'eccentric' irl! He refused because he said he'd had so many enquiries from too many people, and it wouldn't be fair on them!

Maybe the Playmobile poster on here could make one and try selling it for, say, £599?!

Why is the description written in capitals.... I'm suprised no one has hoovered that bit of tat up.. It's what xmas is for after all.

ChoupetteTheCat · 03/12/2023 19:59

I was thinking about this the other day too.

Gudrunnn · 03/12/2023 20:02

Oh my God, my mum would LOVE this object!

Luckily it's outside her price range by at least 2 decimal places.

ChishiyaBat · 03/12/2023 20:58

Oh god i'd forgot about that monstrosity😂. We were crying laughing at it last year😂.

CrushingOnRubies · 03/12/2023 20:59

I love mumsnet for this thing alone. Makes my Christmas

imaceleb2023 · 03/12/2023 21:30

What was the item a few years ago? He says it cost him more than he's selling it for, to make.

Fernie6491 · 03/12/2023 23:34

Hate to say it but I've noticed he lives in my home-town. I wonder if he decorates the front of his house in a similar fashion for Christmas!

Mustbethemulledwine · 04/12/2023 01:06

My favourite part of the description has to be him saying it has cost him more to build that the asking price and then goes on to explain that the base is a quality street tin 😂😂 he points out the tin is empty and there are no sweets but apparently you can use the centerpiece to hide your sweets. Brilliant 😂

Pottyberry · 04/12/2023 01:38

When I clicked the link I thought "that would be quite funny, I might buy it" then saw the price!!!!!! Wtf.

I just googled the drummers, the exact set he used was not available but a similar set was £55 and it would be similar for the pipers. That's £110 alone, I've no idea what the rest of the stuff would cost but scale models are definitely expensive.

ChewbaccasMrs · 04/12/2023 01:58

OMG thank you for starting this thread OP I was thinking about that eyesore decoration just the other day but couldn't find any threads about it,so I thought by some miracle it must have been sold 😅

tachycardigan · 04/12/2023 18:32

I tried to make an offer for £1, but got this message:

"The seller is more likely to respond if you offer around £524.99" Sad

ChishiyaBat · 04/12/2023 19:18

It's the menu that gets me everytime, that dinner party must have cost about a grand according to his pricing plus food😂

Hadjab · 04/12/2023 19:21

What in the Jingle Jangle is that?

ChishiyaBat · 04/12/2023 19:23

@Hadjab it's a sparkling centrepice of quality(st), snowy plaster, a tree complete with led lights and many little figures demonstrating the wonderful 12days of Christmas! It's a perfect gift for that special someone and a steal at £699😂.

SwishSwishBisch · 04/12/2023 20:15

The menu is the best bit 😂
I shall only ever belt out FIVE ONION RINGS whenever singing The 12 Days Of Christmas from now on

Galatine · 04/12/2023 20:20

Looks like the crap they advertise in TV listings magazine. Poor quality and poor taste. However, as the saying goes, nobody ever went broke underestimating public taste

I shall offer him £1.50 then, see if he bites my hand off?!

Yes, the menu. Adds value. Shame you don't get a personal chef included to cook it.

You've got to admire his optimistic outlook and his positivity, though. Bless him!

OldTinHat · 04/12/2023 20:32

Nope. Offer rejected. He's still hoping for £524.99. My car isn't worth that much!

OP posts:
imaceleb2023 · 04/12/2023 20:48

oh bless him, i reckon we should all chip in a fiver and gift it to a random mumsnetter.

rileynexttime · 04/12/2023 20:53

Is it the same item that he had for sale in previous years? Or a new model?

ChishiyaBat · 04/12/2023 21:04

I'm going to guess it's the same one, it just didn't sell in previous years.
