Lots of threads of gift giving ideas for others... ur what's on your list this year?

OP posts:
FrogSplash · 27/11/2023 20:12

An Oodie sleep tee (which I wont get cause DH thinks they're a sack while I think they're magic).

In terms of stuff I could get:
Judi Dench Shakespeare book and a few others.
Bottle of Baileys
Tin of fancy chocolate ginger biscuits from Fortnum (they're expensive for biscuits but incredible)
Elemis Frangipani bath stuff

Frankly if I got all of this and DH took the kids out for a few hours one afternoon between Christmas and new year so I had a few hours in the bath with everything in there with me I'd be in heaven.

seven201 · 27/11/2023 20:15

I'm getting money towards a robot vacuum, a pack away picnic rug and a charm added to my sentimental necklace I wear everyday. Oh and a family photo from dd. And a chocolate orange or 5!

LudicrousSexFudge · 27/11/2023 20:22

Maltesers
Bird feeder
Pjs
Candlesticks
Mug
Quail Ceramics butter dish

Galadali · 27/11/2023 20:30

An 8kg kettle bell, a teach yourself to play piano book, and a (specific) jigsaw. I have to request practical non-ambiguous gifts from DH as he's a bloody disaster when buying traditional "gifty" gifts like socks, smellies, etc.

dressedforcomfort · 27/11/2023 20:34

@onwardandupwards I love my laminator! 😂

dressedforcomfort · 27/11/2023 20:36

A break. Been a tough year. I'm fucking knackered. I would love to just have a guilt free day to myself to knit, drink wine and watch Bridgerton.

DreamingInPhosphorescence · 27/11/2023 20:36

A concert ticket, already bought for myself!

StoleABibleAndShaggedThePriest · 27/11/2023 20:37

thank you! I was shamelessly posting in the hope for ideas for my DW😅

Wouldn't it be better to ask your wife? Or listen to things she says she likes throughout the year?

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 27/11/2023 20:44

Chanel Cristalle perfume
Monica Vinader initial necklace
Molton Brown bath stuff

We're just doing token gifts this year, with a list of ideas to choose from. Total budget £35.

My list includes:
a couple of books
coffee flavoured chocolates,
marshmallows
a silver brooch
a couple of lovely Christmas tree decorations
a blanket/throw that is knitted, not fleece
a framed picture/photo (contents suggested!)
bubble bath
nice dates or dried fruit
a fairy to live in the garden
tiny hanging picture frames from Oliver Bonas - I love these and have them dotted around the house, mostly containing pretty stamps

@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie
I spotted you like coffee flavoured chocolates have you spotted any nice one coffee selections this year? My mum loves them but they are hard to find and I wish I could find her something a bit different.

IndiKid2015 · 27/11/2023 21:04

M&S pink pepper perfume and shower gel set from DH, then I usually buy myself a new pair of trainers for Christmas. Can’t decide if it’s Sambas (preferably the the leopard print ones Howard Donald was wearing in that BBC concert but they’re £££ so if won’t be them) or new gym trainers this year.

Mrsfussypants1 · 27/11/2023 21:11

@indikid I've got Sambas on my wish list too, but the all white with red stripes.
I'd also like some pyjamas from Next with Leopards on and some hotel chocolat mojito chocolate balls.

IndiKid2015 · 27/11/2023 21:15

@Mrsfussypants1 I didn’t know they did red and white, I bet they’re lovely, I hope Santa brings you some x

glarnaire · 27/11/2023 21:16

@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie Thank you I will try and get that!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/11/2023 21:17

glarnaire · 27/11/2023 21:16

@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie Thank you I will try and get that!

If you get it, tell her to suck rather than chomp! That way, two squares are enough to feel like a really indulgent treat!

NickMarlow · 27/11/2023 21:22

DP normally give me and DH money. This year, we've put it towards a weekend away and they're going to come and look after the kids. Cannot Wait.

Fannyfiggs · 27/11/2023 21:42

I love seeing what other folk want. It's like getting a glimpse into Christmas morning in different homes throughout the country ❤️

I want Dyson straighteners. Well I've already bought them so DH just needs to reimburse me.

I'd also love (but won't ask for cos I think the straighteners are more than enough)...

Chanel Chance perfume
A gem slice necklace from Decadorn
100% wool socks
Long wool coat
and
Another cat

Bone11 · 27/11/2023 21:52

I love reading these!

I won't get any of these, and have no one to ask anyway, but my fantasy list is the same every year.

I'd love some jewellery. Something real and beautiful and just my taste. Presented beautifully wrapped, in a lovely box with a bow.

A book that meant something to the giver and they wanted me to read their special book.

Some champagne truffles.

Some beautiful lingerie.

A Bluetooth speaker for my bedroom.

A surprise romantic weekend away in the country, planned for the Christmas break or even NYE.

I can dream!

MrsWhites · 27/11/2023 22:08

I’m getting a bike, a traditional style hybrid with a basket - I can’t wait!

FortunataTagnips · 27/11/2023 22:16

I don’t want anything - I have too much stuff. But I’d love someone to come and help me declutter and reorganise my house.

BCBird · 27/11/2023 22:22

Inner peace. Failing that a book.to.get me back into reading again

declutteringmymind · 27/11/2023 22:26

Some crochet hooks
A spa day on my own
A day on the couch in front of the fire with my husband and kids binge watching something funny.

TruthRevolution · 27/11/2023 22:40

A picture of my cat so she is made to look like a Renaissance Queen portrait 😁

SwordToFlamethrower · 27/11/2023 22:51

A holiday to tenerife and not do anything to do with Xmas at all
