Lots of threads of gift giving ideas for others... ur what's on your list this year?

OP posts:
EllaPaella · 27/11/2023 18:22

Coco Chanel EDP
Some posh bath oil/foam like Elemis or similar
Two books that are on my list
Chocs and a bottle of Frangellico

Auntieobem · 27/11/2023 18:24

Mats for my new car
Aveda shampoo/conditioner
Fancy shower gel
Can never have too many earrings
Night away would be great

TheYearOfSmallThings · 27/11/2023 18:35

Fame Eau de Parfum - I have struggled against wanting this because I normally hate fruity perfumes and novelty bottles but... it's no good. I want it.
A heated throw
Really good earphones
Voucher for aromatherapy hot stone massage
Dermalogica skin smoothing cream
Diorskin compact

Any of these that I don't get, I will buy after Christmas anyway. I am also very happy to receive all the hand cream and scented candles etc - I am easily pleased!

glarnaire · 27/11/2023 18:37

@TheYearOfSmallThings Some people turn their nose up at things like nice smellies, fluffy socks, scented candles etc but I love getting stuff like that, its usually a nice wee bit of luxury you wouldn't normally buy for yourself.

Mynewnameis · 27/11/2023 18:39

A mini photo printer and scrap booking stuff

Bird box camera. Family gift

Hotel chocolat

A wok

orangeginaa · 27/11/2023 18:40

Artwork (of my choice)
Good books (of my choice)
Woollen socks
Denby (matching my set)
Promises to babysit during the day so I can write.

KittenCatt · 27/11/2023 18:41

I’d love:

Prada Paradox perfume
Lego Bonsai tree
Slippers
Gin glasses
Garnier face masks

I know - I wish there was an easy way of rerouting all these gifts to me Grin

MissyB1 · 27/11/2023 18:43

A faux fur stole
Givenchy l’interdit perfume
M&S pyjamas
White company candle

Bird feeder to put on the window
……

MabelMoo23 · 27/11/2023 19:03

Le Labo perfume
lovely silver jewellery
chocolate
fluffy socks

and I agree with someone else - a fucking break would be lovely

FindingMeno · 27/11/2023 19:11

I would love a new tattoo.

Digestivechocolate · 27/11/2023 19:14

My daughters and Grandsons know me well.
I adore slippers.. so l know l will get some.
No7 beauty skin serums/ cream etc.
Hand cream..( I'm addicted).
Mint Chocolate.
I have neuropathy so fluffy warm bed socks.
Last year my daughter had a book made for me.. with personal photos of my Grandsons and she wrote a story to go in... oh l look at it all the time.
Most importantly I'd love a new hip.. but think that's down to the NHS waiting list and not Santa lol.
Fingers crossed for next year.

GettingOldWithoutStyle · 27/11/2023 19:20

Another "boring" list of

Slipper boots
Chocolate (I actually like massive blocks of cadburys not Hotel Chocolat!)
Posh bubble bath
Luxury dressing gown
Wool socks
Pud in a mugs 😄

Dream list (not going to get for at least 5 years)
A night off (3 kids 5 and under 😱)
A dinner I haven't made, paid for or had to share with a child
A bath that isn't interrupted
A lay in with a cup of coffee and a book

Goodluck op. I always think it's not how much you spend/the luxury of the item, it's just getting it right. It took my DH 10 years to stop buying very expensive hotel Chocolat "because it was Christmas" before buying a 850g dairy milk - I was thrilled 😄

GettingOldWithoutStyle · 27/11/2023 19:20

Oh and yes, no.7 gift sets are fab!

IHeartGeneHunt · 27/11/2023 19:22

A shed and a gas camping stove, but I won't get those, so I've asked for leggings, tea towels, socks and chocolate.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/11/2023 19:26

We're just doing token gifts this year, with a list of ideas to choose from. Total budget £35.

My list includes:
a couple of books
coffee flavoured chocolates,
marshmallows
a silver brooch
a couple of lovely Christmas tree decorations
a blanket/throw that is knitted, not fleece
a framed picture/photo (contents suggested!)
bubble bath
nice dates or dried fruit
a fairy to live in the garden
tiny hanging picture frames from Oliver Bonas - I love these and have them dotted around the house, mostly containing pretty stamps

endlesscraziness · 27/11/2023 19:26

New weightlifting trainers and some funky weightlifting socks 🤣🤣 I'm so rock and roll boring

DahliaJ · 27/11/2023 19:27

I don't really want anything! I'm quite content without more ‘stuff’ and don't like surprises. I much prefer to decide as a couple something ‘we’ want to do and buy it together.

I do need to revamp my makeup though ( long overdue….by about 20 years😆) so I am thinking I might ask for a makeup lesson in a store where we can buy the products. A lunch out, that day would be good!

JamMakingWannaBe · 27/11/2023 19:27

Light up wheels for my roller boots
A WiFi/Bluetooth mini printer for my digital photos plus an album
A glue gun
A one-cup tea pot
Flower frogs for my floral art
Garden centre voucher

MIL can be relied on to gift me a bottle of Baileys!

Perimama · 27/11/2023 19:29

New pajamas
Shower gel/beauty products would be nice
But what I really want is a new driveway!

Lovemusic82 · 27/11/2023 19:29

Thehonestbadger · 27/11/2023 17:02

I’m going to be the biggest downer at this party and say my almost 4yo ASD DS to talk!!

DH and I were saying the other day it’s the first year we’ve both so desperately wanted something we can’t actually buy or get for ourselves. It sucks. Literally all we want in life.

I hope you get your wish. My dd was non verbal until 5, hearing her voice was magical, it still is now she’s almost 18. The best Christmas presents are those that can’t be bought.

user1471453601 · 27/11/2023 19:30

Comany. From my daughter and her partner. That's all I really want

gingercat02 · 27/11/2023 19:31

A fish cookery workshop
Variety of socks - pilates welly and walking
Jamie's 5 ingredients book
DH and I are getting vouchers for a local Michelin 1 star restaurant

Can you tell I love food 😋

EnjoythemoneyJane · 27/11/2023 19:46

A pair of silk pillowcases to replace the ones I’ve had for the last 10 years (RIP, old friends).
A Monica Vinader ring.
Natalie marzipan fruits.

I won’t actually ask for any of this, so I won’t be surprised not to get it. Not implying here that my family are in any way thoughtless, just that we don’t really do adult presents, which is definitely my preference so I’m not complaining.

But I’ll almost certainly treat myself to the Lidl version of the marzipan!
