I am looking for recommendations to make the house smell like christmas?

An oil for the diffuser would be idea or a candle.

Any recommendations would be amazing, thank you

Ive bought a load of M&S candles and a diffuser too. Hoping we will smell lovely and christmassy!

White company winter candle. Expensive but nothing else comes close for me (and I’ve tried a lot!). They also do diffuser oil which is far more reasonable in price but I don’t find the scent lasts quite as long as the candle

Thank you, looks like they have some lovely candles.

I can't explain it but want the warm smell of Christmas filling the house

ooh thank you, when I searched earlier the winter fragrance did come up. They have 20% off at the moment so definitely tempted

For me a big bowl of Macintosh apples is Christmas

Have you tried a simmer pot OP? Like this

its an American recipe but it’s basically spices and citrus gently simmering, I have heard people then put the simmered liquid into a spray bottle and use as air freshener.

I make mulled wine also and that definitely does the trick.

I hate the white company one Envy I get a real Christmas tree which I think makes the house smell lovely, even if it's just a small one. And I diffuse Neom Christmas wish oil, a bottle will last you years!

saveforthat · 22/11/2023 19:44

A real Christmas tree.

I had never heard of this but such a good idea thank you. I will need to pick some bits up but sounds gorgeous

Replicate the smell of Christmas, hmmm. I don’t think deep regret and familial contempt have a smell.

AQuantityOfNaughtyCats · 22/11/2023 19:45

White company winter diffuser oil- much cheaper than the candles!!

BeckhamSeven · 22/11/2023 19:45

I love the white company Winter candle, of course, but Aldi are doing some really lovely orange scented tea lights for around the house. And there is a recipe somewhere for a clove and orange thing you simmer on the hob if you're having a party etc which smells lovely....it might be a Nadia off bake off "recipe". I also love those really cheap nasty candles from Asda 😂 The Christmassy ones just remind me of my childhood even though they're sickly sweet and make my DH sneeze 🤣

Missingmyusername · 22/11/2023 19:46

Jo Malone have a gingerbread one. Yankee candle have some nice wax melts too- anything cookie is usually festive, they discontinued ‘Christmas memories’ which I loved.

goababy · 22/11/2023 19:46

White Company also do the Christmas scent in an oil, much cheaper if you already have a diffuser, or you can put a few drops on a damp cloth on the radiator

Whatineed · 22/11/2023 19:46

Zara Home do an exceptional Gingerbread candle/fragrance spray/diffuser etc. I also buy the gingerbread handsoaps every year for the guest bathroom.

You can also buy Zoflora in Wintery scents and pop a cap down the sink overnight.

Screamingabdabz · 22/11/2023 19:51

Hang scensicals on your Christmas tree. (Think that is what they’re called). Get them from garden centres.,

jelly79 · 22/11/2023 19:51

White company used to do a ginger one which was the best scent ever! They discontinued it but I still try!!!

witchypaws · 22/11/2023 19:52

I like the neon Christmas ones, they do candles and an oil
Cowshed winter one too

choccychocchoc · 22/11/2023 19:52

White company winter! I've had the oil in the diffuser all day today 🎄

Whiterose23 · 22/11/2023 19:52

These are my favourite wax melts. The house always smells amazing

Disturbia81 · 22/11/2023 19:54

I use the mulled wine/cinnamon apple sprays in the automatic glade sprayers.

Disturbia81 · 22/11/2023 19:55

Airwick I mean

Wazzzzzuuuuuuup · 22/11/2023 19:56

Skandinavisk Skog candle/diffuser

Smells exactly like a Christmas tree, and is scented with natural oils, not artifical flavours

ImTiredBoss · 22/11/2023 19:57

Bake some gingerbread! [Grin]
