Very odd…….but I really liked it!

I wish they hadn’t included the scenes where he was kicked out and replaced with a typical Christmas tree though, he should have just been the family Christmas tree for the duration of the advert as it would have been much more cheerful. I’ve never understood why the JL Christmas adverts have to include some form of sadness and upset in them? Is there a reason for it?

@BeingGivenMoney you need the sadness to remind you that retail therapy will make it all better 😂

I thought it was awful too.

I liked the Asda one this year.

My favourite John Lewis ones are Monty the penguin, and the snowman going to get his wife a present.

I think my favourite ever is Sainsbury's Mog's Christmas.

I love it, beats smug adverts of perfect family Christmases all sitting at a table groaning with food. !!

I’ve finally watched it. I thought it was weird and sweet at the same time but also a bit meh. I watched it with the volume off so can’t comment on the music lol but reading some if the comments makes me glad I had the volume off

It has total Day of the Triphid vibes for me - that programed totally terrified me as a kid- though I dare say you need to be of a certain age!

I've watched it four or five times now. I'm not overwhelmed about the ad, but I'm now loving the song. Apparently the translation is "Life is a Celebration"

I now have an earworm of The Kids from Fame with a song of the same title. Tune! (You have to be of a certain age to have heard of this)

Ahh I’ve been looking forward to this ad but this one totally fell flat. The music is so weird, the whole idea is weird tbh. I loved last years ad, it was one of my favourites.

Just here in solidarity with the criers (why do we do it?!), didn’t love or hate it but my DD thoroughly enjoyed it, first advert she’s actually watched without moaning!
