My DD is 15 and a bit obsessed. I know, I know! Strange choice.

She says the colour palette of The White Company make her feel calm and better organised.

Her room was redecorated in 'Almond White' and she's got some lovely White company sheets (second hand) from eBay. It's 'a thing' at the moment

What can I buy her if she loves this style? I want to give her a lovely Christmas

She saved my life this year by dialling 999 for me when I was in denial. I have said I will spend some extra and I mean it

She recently got a new phone from her dad and got a free tablet with it, which she likes to watch YouTube and Netflix on, and says it's good for revision etc. So no need for any tech and she isn't 'big' on devices

What else could I get her? She loves her echo dot. She uses it to set timers and reminders. Would a newer version with the improved speaker be a good gift? Or would you not bother because it's not on the list?

I like them having a few bits to open

She has a (again second hand from Vinted) bath robe that she got herself and has requested from her list a dressing gown from there... but I don't want to spend £100 on it. Grin

My house is colourful and full of random stuff that I just like. Her room is immaculate and plain! As is her style... I feel a bit out of touch and not sure what to get her.

So we have very different styles and I personally think she is a woman of 50 hiding in a 15 year olds body which we like to joke about.

My other daughter is 23 and moved out a while back. She was not like this and more easy to please

I have a 7 year old also so the budget is about £250 max

What would you get from this list for her if you were me? Anything you'd add or definitely not get?

She does get a stocking but I put things like chocolate orange in there etc

Surely this thing isn't worth £80

Can you put the white company scents into a cheaper diffuser? Seen a few nice cheaper ones on Amazon for example

I think if she really likes the white company and is specific, i'd stick to her list. Perhaps black friday and discounts will come out in the next couple of weeks.
I went off the list to create some suprises last year and whilst they were liked and used. Mine told me to stick to the list. I just choose what I can afford. Then add bits of chocolates etc that they like and not adding a huge budget.

Justhereforthechristmasthreads · 07/11/2023 19:27

Is it the electric one she wants? It doesnt state that on her list. I didn't even think electric

They have the non electric one

Seychelles Diffuser

There are usually discount codes for The white company
Maybe sign up to their mailing list ahead of black friday if that is her current love so ypur money goes further. I wouldn't get her cheaper versions of what she has asked for. Just go through her list and work out what is doable and what isn't.

If it’s just oil you can put in any diffuser. There is a Seychelles perfume if she likes that scent, the shower gel is also gorgeous.

for the housecoat I’d look for a dupe in primark, their nightwear is good. Or one from next perhaps.

can’t read what it says about the EarPods but I’ve bought some good guess branded ones for 20 from tkmax and they are as good as my apple ones.

handbag, look at fossil outlet or guess if you have one near you

ImDuranDuran · 07/11/2023 19:28

That's a beautiful diffuser I have to say. Would she maybe settle for a cheaper version from Amazon and a couple of expensive oils from Neom?

Can I also just say I love her style! 'Low maintenance plant' Grin As well as 'don't bother with Apple' re the earphones, I wish my DD14 was as considerate!

Justhereforthechristmasthreads · 07/11/2023 19:28

Also the dressing gown - there are a few options on The White Company. They aren't all £80 (yes not cheap but still)

As long as the diffuser looks 'plain or neutral' I don't think she would mind at all where it's from. She would just want to Seychelles scent as that's her favourite

She has a Seychelles wash stuff that she keeps alerts on for on Vinted and EBay and gets it that way. Along with her Elemis skin stuff that she buys off there which I would no way be buying lol

She has said before not to bother with the little disposable diffuser sticks as apparently they are rubbish

What I would buy with your budget…

The dressing gown she really wants £80
A nice lip balm e.g. Nuxe rêve de miel ~£10
Plant in white pot ~£10
Notebook ~£10
Pearl studs ~£25-40
Wireless headphones ~£20
Plain black socks ~£10
Portrait of a Lady refill (looks like it has a spray nozzle) £48
Seychelles diffuser £30

That’s roughly £245-£260.

You may think her list is odd but it’s what she likes so please don’t bother buying her alternatives.

If you possibly could, I would try to stretch to a bottle of the perfume she likes. It would be a fantastic surprise. Obviously don’t do this if it would put you into difficulty though.

meandmycrew · 07/11/2023 19:51

for the housecoat I’d look for a dupe in primark, their nightwear is good. Or one from next perhaps.

She got some fancy pjs from there at the weekend and said they're really nice

I will have a look as primark quality seems to be better recently too. I know she's after one that's long length because she has a short one currently and wants one longer to cover her legs

Tk Maxx also great but luck of the draw in terms of styles and colours

I was going to buy her an Oodie but not sure I will as it probably won't get worn

Ahh just seen she wants an electric diffuser. The Seychelles oil is £10 so you could get an unbranded electric one to go with it.

Ophy83 · 07/11/2023 19:51

With your budget being £250 I'd get her some things from the white company...

This one is £60

https://www.thewhitecompany.com/uk/Long-Lightweight-Waffle-Robe/p/SHCRW?swatch=White

Perhaps with some slippers as a surprise!

https://www.thewhitecompany.com/uk/Faux-Fur-Cross-Slider-Slippers/p/A06986?swatch=Pale%20Grey

They also often have sales. My kids love their PJs as the fabric is super comfortable .

The one you've linked! She's got that already but she told me it was a bath robe and uses it for that??

It is quite a towelling material I think. It's really good quality. I'd like one for myself but they're all boring colours

I think she's after something more cosy

BlossomValley · 07/11/2023 19:54

I wouldn’t get an oodie. She’s asked for a dressing gown, I would prioritise that. Also from what you’ve said I wouldn’t consider an oodie to fit with the aesthetic she’s going for.

Insuranceheadache · 07/11/2023 19:54

The White Company always have a lot of 15% off codes knocking about so don’t buy without one of those.

Thank you. I wasn't sure you could put other brands oils into any diffuser

I've actually got one in my room that shed eyes up and I don't use at all. It's from next and also very plain... was a gift

I think I mint do that and just buy the Seychelles oils she's after for it

White company will no doubt have a good black Friday sale. You could also try the outlet at Bicester – they can deliver and you contact them by WhatsApp. Take a look at the website. I agree with previous posts that if she’s specifically requested white company and loves it that much then it’s worth getting her what she’s asked for even if there’s less of it

DGPP · 07/11/2023 19:58

I adore the White Company dressing gowns and nothing comes close in my opinion in terms of quality. They usually do a 20% off around Black Friday so wait and get her the one she wants! Don’t get a dupe.. it’s not the same.
then get the WC oil in a different diffuser

meandmycrew · 07/11/2023 20:06

Thank you, I'm going to go for the proper white company dressing gown and use a code Smile she will be made up!

You have to wonder how white company are managing to influence teenagers!

My eldest just wanted trainers and gadgets at this age

I bought a robe from White Company nearly 10 years ago and it’s still going strong. It has a hood and is very comfy so well worth the money!

it was this one, velour £75
