Thread title inspired by the 'it's time' Christmas trend as it's now time for Christmas now halloween is over!

In message two are the links and info from last year - if anyone has anything they'd like me to amend or add, please do tag me and I'll update.

A reminder not to post affiliate links in the thread but that MN do change amazon links shared by posters into MN affiliate links.

Please do watch the thread rather than post to mark place to make it easier for everyone to keep up and find relevant info.

Another request for help/ideas.... my grandparents are in their 80s, don't go out much, don't need anything. I have zero idea what to get them.

My family clubbed together and bought our grandparents a cake subscription from Meg Rivers. They deliver a cake once a month (min 3 months) it’s not cheap but there are lots of other companies offering similar. They loved it as they said they’d forget all about it and then have a lovely surprise when it turned up in the post ☺️

Cake Club Pre-Pay

Perfect as a gift. Each month we send a different cake, many exclusive to the Cake Club. The first cake can be delivered to arrive on or just before a special date (using the delivery date picker at checkout). You can also provide a gift message. Add a...

@redjoker I love an amazon warehouse purchase as majority of the time it's only packaging that's damaged, it'll actually inform you before purchase of the issue.
I've only ever returned one item, some squishy sensory dough that was rock solid. Return was easy to do.

How do you find Amazon warehouse products please?

PurpleSkittle · 04/11/2023 12:41

@Hibernatalie this is why we've had to buy one each and one for each person in any household that we've bought them for as otherwise the person who doesn't have one feels really left out and blanket fights ensue 😂

I've had a feel of versions in other shops and Dunelm's were definitely the most thick and snuggly!

Dee1224 · 04/11/2023 12:42

@poostinkywink - TKMaxx had some cheap activity crackers recently.

The M&S outlet at Clarks village the other day had reduced Percy Pig throws and handwarmer cushions as well as some Xmas items.

It's a switch im looking to buy. Have seen a few with scratches for 120-150 so wondering if it's worth a punt. Basically I guess it depends on how good their returns policy is....

Really appreciate all comments thanks guys

My DD got one for her birthday from CEX, in perfect condition and comes with a year guarantee. I would definitely have a look in those type of shops

@Checkinmylist1 Ah I see! Just checking Grin I've had the air-activated toe warmers before. Great for watching ice hockey! You can also make them last a bit longer by putting them into an airtight bag/container until you want to use it again Smile

AnotherOne4 · 04/11/2023 12:51

Ooh think I just got a bargain on afternoon tea's 😀

Piglet's Pantry Deal (I've ordered from here before, and highly recommend)

Just ordered the below:

  • Classic Afternoon Tea For Two £32.50
  • Classic Vegetarian Afternoon Tea For Two £32.50

To be delivered in January next year. Paid £40.55 for both 🙃It's basically buy one get one free! I had to pay £6.50 delivery though.
I really wanted to go for the Christmas option (where you get Christmas themed cakes, but I wasn't sure if they would ship my order for that in the New Year. And I didn't want to miss the deal)

Use code TYBLUE50

EDIT* It's basically a 50% code.

PurpleSkittle · 04/11/2023 12:52

@Blessedbethefruitz yes, we ruined one by washing it. So we're trying to keep to a 'don't get the blanket dirty' rule for now to try to avoid having to wash them. I've been wondering whether the wool wash setting on the machine would be an option...

PopcornAndGummyBears · 04/11/2023 12:53

@nicky2512 the last couple of years one of the Vodafone offers has been Joe & Seph’s popcorn. There is usually a Vodafone codes thread going but I don’t know if it’s started yet and embarrassingly I’m a Vodafone customer who never checks the offers (I don’t even have the app on my phone) so I only get DH to check them when I see them noted on here.

@Notasockbandit have you tried posting in littlebluecup selfsearch on Facebook
I swear there is almost anything the members can find :)

@hoopdeloop I ordered Beast Lab from the Entertainer by signing up to Jack’s birthday club I got sent 20% off and got it for £72 which is still pricey but it was the last thing on my list and I just wanted it done. If it goes cheaper on Black Friday I should be able to return the one I’ve got as it will be within 30 days.

The Very deal sounds good but I’ve already got a credit account with them.

If anyone knows of a cheaper 'Viking Ship and the Midgard Serpent' than those on ebay, I'd be very grateful!

A little while ago, Very was selling this for £54. They don't seem to have it on their website at the moment, but it might be worth keeping an eye on it. Alternatively, have you checked Facebook Marketplace? The first one that came up for me was £65 and they may be willing to post.

Yes i think I saw you mention this on the other thread. I don't do Facebook or any social media, only mumsnet

nopuppiesallowed · 04/11/2023 13:12

Thank you @1stTimeMama 😊

IHeartKingThistle · 04/11/2023 13:18

The works has Obama Llama board game for £10 in clearance. It's a great game.

EatingSleeping · 04/11/2023 13:30

Could any one else you know post and send it you? I hope you find them. Sometimes pound shop type shops turn them up but I know how stressful it is!

NotmySundaybest · 04/11/2023 13:37

Couple of good reductions on advent calendars at Boots.
Snaffling Pig one reduced to £15 & Joe & Sephs £15.75

I didn't buy this one, as I'm trying to rein myself in whilst I use previous ones up. I'd love to know / see what you got though as I think I will be going for their next offer (I'm expecting something good for Black Friday)

I think you maybe replying to me. Yes I have everyone looking out for them. They never were sold in the pounds shops, it was only ever superdrug. We do have 3 on the go at the moment but I'm just trying to re stock as have no new ones.

Magik01 · 04/11/2023 14:04

Thank you so much for the Ciate polish advent, haven’t brought for anyone other than myself 😬🙈 For under £1 per polish it’s a steal!

lifelongfrugaleer · 04/11/2023 14:10

@Notasockbandit have you tried Superdrug head office They may be able to look at the stock systems and see if any stores have any odd ones in stock. Some times discontinued stock loiters in a ware house
