Thread title inspired by the 'it's time' Christmas trend as it's now time for Christmas now halloween is over!

In message two are the links and info from last year - if anyone has anything they'd like me to amend or add, please do tag me and I'll update.

A reminder not to post affiliate links in the thread but that MN do change amazon links shared by posters into MN affiliate links.

@dramalamma I had a big cart of items to buy from ulster weavers but the postage was £20 to the Channel Islands! I quickly abandoned the basket !

This annoys me. I sent something to somebody on these threads recently who was in the Channel Islands, and it cost the same via RM as posting down the road.

PiningForTheMoon · 04/11/2023 18:54

It could be the wine but I’m howling at Sausage Elixir!

Me too! @Reastie, '...the one with the Sausage Elixir' for the next thread?!

AnotherOne4 · 04/11/2023 19:17

Glad people are enjoying the Piglets Pantry code. Hope you enjoy @PlanBea and @redjoker I'm tempted to buy for my Dad's birthday (Feb) and Mother's Day (March)!

Someaddedsugar · 04/11/2023 19:27

fernsandlilies · 04/11/2023 18:58

does anyone possibly have a Lakeland code please?

I posted some at the end of thread 7 that might work?

mydogisthebest · 04/11/2023 19:41

I tried to buy the Piglets Pantry afternoon teas but could not see that I could choose 2 different dates. Is that possible and, if so, how?

cymrumam · 04/11/2023 19:45

Thanks for the piglet pantry code also works on letterbox gifts so another one off the list

@dramalamma I had a big cart of items to buy from ulster weavers but the postage was £20 to the Channel Islands! I quickly abandoned the basket !

No way! That puts my £3.99 into perspective.... they also sent me a code for 15% off cos I abandoned my cart but it doesn't stack. I'm considering going back and just paying the £3.99 but I'm still offended by charging more to Ulster!!

dramalamma · 04/11/2023 20:04

@NoWordForFluffy - isn't it annoying! It really depends on who they're using to deliver - some companies do charge more for off-shore - but there are so many websites that won't even deliver to NI/channel islands/isle of man etc. It's a bit frustrating but usually I don't complain..... except when it literally has Ulster in their name! 😂

MerylSqueak · 04/11/2023 20:23

For those with kids who like Asian snacks, I just saw they're selling Ramune drinks in Morrisons. My teens loved having this when we went to a Korean last year. Good little addition for a hamper or stocking.

fernsandlilies · 04/11/2023 20:30

@Someaddedsugar thank you the code did work.

I missed the end of the last thread - can hardly believe it was only a few hours ago!

Soscrewed · 04/11/2023 20:31

Someone mentioned on the previous thread that the National Trust has free postage until November 16th, using the code FEELINGFESTIVE.

I ordered a couple of little things this afternoon, and it let me choose Special Delivery 1-2 days as an option for free too. Just had an email to say it's been dispatched. Fantastic! Thanks to the PP who found that.

CarrieMoonbeams I can’t get the code to work 😞. It says it is accepted, but doesn’t deduct the postage. Am I doing something wrong?

I kept going through the buying process, thinking it may take it off later on, but I got to the point where I would have to make the transaction without knowing if the postage had come off.

Goshdarnitgoofy · 04/11/2023 20:52

Clinton’s has large stuffed toys for £5 today (instore)

teddy bear dressed as an elf, star, cupcake (with faces like jellycats) etc

Oooh any more online cracker deals? I am looking for some with charades or something to keep us entertained at the dinner table as opposed to landfill plastic tat which will get binned. I need them to be cheap 😭

For something to keep you entertained around the table we play cling film pass the parcel. Basically you use cling film instead of wrapping paper and can put small sweets, scratch cards etc between the layers. Rather than music we use two dice and the person before the "parcel" rolls until they roll a double. Always funny to hear everyone shouting double to get them to pass the parcel on! And the younger kids can get involved too!

CarrieMoonbeams · 04/11/2023 20:54

Hang on a sec @HeartandSeoul (great name, btw!), I'm just putting the dogs out for a quick pee then I'll make a trial order and see what's happening.

dizzygirl1 · 04/11/2023 20:58

Thank you everyone, some good options, I might be able to do a hamper of sorts. They can be quite picky as they know what they like (not a bad thing, just hard to shop for!)

CarrieMoonbeams · 04/11/2023 21:00

Right, I'm back @HeartandSeoul !

I just tried it again and it worked fine. So you've put in the code, it said it was accepted, and then you go to the secure checkout page, is that right? If you then click on the down arrow beside Order Summary, it should show you that the postage is free. Hope it works for you!

HeartandSeoul · 04/11/2023 21:19

Thank you CarrieMoonbeams 😊

Thanks for looking into it. Sadly, it still won’t work for me 😔. I had wondered if it was because I hadn’t set up an account, but that didn’t resolve the issue. I’m going as far as needing to enter my card details/Paypal information, yet it still is asking me to pay postage.

I’ll just keep trying. Thanks again🙂

Whistlefish have got their ‘any 15 for £10 offer on at the moment but for this weekend only they have got an additional deal - 15 normal cards plus 5 luxury cards for £15.

I first got Whistlefish Christmas cards thanks to these threads many years ago - and they are great quality plus you can choose your own selection - they can all be the same or all different.

You might want to wait for Black Friday - I sen to remember that they did a good offer then in previous years but if there are any of their cards that you particularly want it might be worth just going for it now as they sometimes run out of popular designs - or if you’re forgetful like me, you’re busy doing other things over Black Friday then get to the Wednesday afterwards and realise that you never did go to get them and they are now up to normal price again…

Justhereforthechristmasthreads · 04/11/2023 21:28

@HeartandSeoul I can't find terms for the code anywhere but have you tried removing one item at a time from your basket to see if there is a certain item that triggers it not being free. I put one item in as a trial and it worked and showed free postage so you must have something in your basket that is excluded

CarrieMoonbeams · 04/11/2023 21:29

How strange @HeartandSeoul , I've just tried it again and it works fine for me. At least the code is active for another while anyway, so maybe give them a ring on Monday to see if they can fix it.

That's really frustrating for you though, what a shame.

PlanBea · 04/11/2023 21:34

@HeartandSeoul if you have any of the "small wonder gifts" they're not eligible for free delivery weirdly!
