Thread title inspired by the 'it's time' Christmas trend as it's now time for Christmas now halloween is over!

In message two are the links and info from last year - if anyone has anything they'd like me to amend or add, please do tag me and I'll update.

A reminder not to post affiliate links in the thread but that MN do change amazon links shared by posters into MN affiliate links.

Please do watch the thread rather than post to mark place to make it easier for everyone to keep up and find relevant info.

I think I’ve become too used to bargains.

I like the idea of the QVC Hotel Chocolat, but the £4.95 delivery puts me off.

And there are a couple of T-shirts the kids would like in Redbubble with 25% off, but the £10+ delivery put me off.

I could use a £10 referral on QVC, and I could use 10% cashback on Redbubble, but I’m just not feeling it.

Thank you CarrieMoonbeams 😊

Thanks for looking into it. Sadly, it still won’t work for me 😔. I had wondered if it was because I hadn’t set up an account, but that didn’t resolve the issue. I’m going as far as needing to enter my card details/Paypal information, yet it still is asking me to pay postage.

I’ll just keep trying. Thanks again🙂

Maybe try the code all lower case. Just noticed the poster it works for had it typed like that!

Any idea what my best option is for a deal on genuine Apple AirPods?

I got DS cheap replicas last year thinking he’d lose them within a week, but he’s been really careful with them.

CarrieMoonbeams · 04/11/2023 21:49

Good bargain spotting there @ThreeB !

Our dogs always give the neighbours on both sides a gift (don't ask!) and DH and I usually give them both a nice bottle of port, so I'll buy a couple of those cheeseboards and that'll tie in nicely.

Thelifeofawife · 04/11/2023 21:50

@fishfingersandchipsagain I am not sure about this year but last Christmas the cheapest place I could find was Costco (online or in store)

For something to keep you entertained around the table we play cling film pass the parcel. Basically you use cling film instead of wrapping paper and can put small sweets, scratch cards etc between the layers. Rather than music we use two dice and the person before the "parcel" rolls until they roll a double. Always funny to hear everyone shouting double to get them to pass the parcel on! And the younger kids can get involved too!

I really like this idea! My brain can't understand it though, do you keep taking layers off until someone rolls a double then they get the parcel ? Sorry I'm being dim

WhatICallMyUsername · 04/11/2023 21:57

Sorry yes @Qwerty21 I didn't explain it very well! You keep trying to unwrap until a double is thrown then you pass the parcel on. If you're doing it make sure you don't get chocolate bars and things that squash easily when you make the cling film tight. I learnt from experience 🤣

It's bedtime for me TBF so I thought my sleepiness was just making me not understand. 😆😆 Will do lol! Thanks!

Can't believe I'm encouraging business for Ulster weavers after they dared charge me extra postage to Ulster...... but there are a load of good small presents like lovely kids backpacks £6-10) drawstring bags (£2.85), kids umbrellas (£5) and pencil cases (£1 something) in the outlet section and WELCOME15 gives you 15% discount. Also some lovely looking linen napkins for less than £5 for two which seems like a good price.
Thank you to whoever posted the deal.... I promise I'll stop mentioning the postage now! 😁

Sorry I can't remember where on the threads I saw these but was there a link or a tip for coloured Christmas tree lights please? Thankyou

Aldi have got them in this week.

HeartandSeoul · 04/11/2023 22:45

Thank you to those of you who offered advice to why my National Trust free delivery code wasn’t working (Carriemoonbeams, Planbea, FizzyOranges were a few names I managed to remember, but I know there were more).

Someone suggested removing an item at a time, to see if that was the reason the code wasn’t working. I tried removing the ceramic bird feeders and the code worked 😊immediately! Unfortunately, that was the main reason I was placing the order, but I’ll take another look and see what I find instead.

Thanks again

MrsChristiesChristmasCake · 04/11/2023 22:59

I think I asked a couple of threads ago, but I can't find where it is now, but does anyone have any recommendations for a first camera for a 6 year old? There's quite a few on Amazon but not sure what to go for! Just want a camera - I see some of them do simple games as well, which I'm not keen on!

Does anyone know any way to save a bit on Joe and Sephs popcorn? Even free postage? I always buy some for dmil but I’m sure there was normally discounts or 3 for 2 or something. Might have to wait for Black Friday.

Vue cinemas sell it (or mine does anyway), if there's one near you. It's not cheap but it would save on postage.

ThreeB · 04/11/2023 23:00

@nicky2512 there's quite a lot of Seph & Joe on the QVC website. There's also £5 off your first order and im sure there are some referral codes in the referral thread

HereForAdvice123 · 04/11/2023 23:13

Hi! If anyone happens to go into a large Sainsburys could you possible keep an eye out for these pyjamas in size 4-5 for me? Would like all four of them but they have been out of stock online for ages and I only have a small selection of clothes at my local .. thanks in advance!

I can vouch for the Lights4Fun retro lights. I've temporarily put my tree up as I haven't had a flocked tree before and wanted to see how it'd look etc, the lights look beautiful on it. The true warm, jewel-like glow of my childhood.... Although I maybe would have looked for the Aldi ones if I'd knew about them sooner...! They're lovely though, despite not being a bargain, I love them.

fernsandlilies · 04/11/2023 23:37

@Houseofsardines thank you, that’s enormously kind. I did manage to use a code from the last thread, so your vouchers will help someone else 😊

Sorry if this has already been posted but Lakeland have up to £50 off some of their heated throws including lovely furs and sherpas, as well as free delivery all weekend.

NoWordForFluffy · 04/11/2023 23:48

It's also free delivery weekend on Bamboo Clothing I noticed earlier.

The Gain the Edge grip socks offer of 4 pairs plus free mini shin pads is showing as stopping in 2 hours (ie at 2 am UK time).

I've bought from them before but this is the first time they’ve had the mini shin pad offer and it was a real pain to get it to add in - there’s a little toggle switch in the sock description page that wasn’t displayed to me until I went and found and added some mini shin pads in - but that then couldn’t be removed once I’d added the free pads in - to the point that I had to go and redo the order on a different device.

once I did manage to check out it then offered me another pair of the socks for £6 which I went for to give some as a gift to my niece. And then once I’d done that it asked again, this time a pair for £4. So I figured why not as ds used them a lot. And then it gave me an offer for some half price sports tape. And then more socks for £5. All of which had countdown timers on so you didn’t have much time to think which was a bit of a pain but I would have been annoyed if I’d bought two or more sets at £22 and then been offered them at effectively £20/set! The just R’s here’s up the payment and you didn’t get charged any extra for postage, although I don’t know if they would refund postage if you added enough to take you past the free postage threshold.

I also don’t know if it’s something that they now do or if it’s because they were near the end of the bargain offer period and wanted to shift more! But might be worth anticipating it if you buy tonight or at a future good deal and knowing if you do want to order more at the same time!

WidowedMum · 05/11/2023 00:31

The puck a pine tree book is back down to £1.68 on Amazon. Think it was a flash sale so I don’t know when it ends

paintyhands · 05/11/2023 00:43

I think last year there was a deal on sheepskin slippers from a company called red something - can anyone remember?

paintyhands · 05/11/2023 01:15

I remembered! It’s redfoot shoes and welcome20 for a discount in case anyone else can use this too.
