All sorted for our 4 year old but I'm really struggling for ideas for our 8 year old son this year. He has already pretty much grown out of playing with actual toys, but then is still young enough that you can see he is a bit envious when his younger brother gets all the shiny plastic stuff to open. Family have mostly moved to giving him money now so that makes the disparity even more apparent really. So far he has asked for a switch game, a skateboard and a set of percy jackson books but hasn't come up with anything else so I'm hoping I can steal ideas from other people's lists this year!

DS is 9 and I'm getting him:
New bike
Arsenal kit
Cycling jersey
FIFA 24
Cycling helmet
Other bike accessories
Squishmallows
He is easy to buy for as is massively into his hobbies (football and cycling to state the obvious)!

Mine has asked for his own version of fluxx so I've got fluxx remix plus a variety of books. He also wants a watch and his own wallet.

Think I'm going to get him a Rubik's cube and maybe a tamagotchi as DD will be getting one and he'll want one when he sees hers

My 9yr old DS wants a laptop and lots of five nights at Freddy’s toys. He has a list on Smyths as long as my arm 😂

Some great ideas on here! My DS has asked for Beast Lab but it costs a fortune (£90) - does anyone have one? Is it worth it?

My 8 year old wants:

A camera with an inbuilt printer
A carcassonne expansion or two
A replica set of Lewis Chessmen with red pieces rather than black
A Papo limited edition spinosaurus model
More Novelmore playmobil
Chronicles of Narnia yoto cards
Dixit
A Book of Greek mythology

So far I'm getting mine huge tube of his favourite Oreos.
He wants Minecraft beanbag, but I'm considering getting him a huge fluffy one, we'll see.
Possibly table all in one computer.
Some Switch games.
Xmas pjs.
Minecraft bedding?
Huge tube of Nutella- again favourite.

Oh and lava lamp, I think he may really like it.

Mine are a little bit older than yours now but for the last few years eve had the same problem and one thing that has always impressed, without fail is a hamper of some sort. I ask them for a theme so it might be Cadbury, galaxy or it could be a colour and then they get loads of treats in that theme. I add it to my weekly shop usually so doesn't even feel like it costs anything and they always save it till last and then go through it with a fine tooth comb. I absolutely love putting them together and seeing how creative I can get with drinks, biscuits, snacks etc and the kids adore them. I'm layering on to it this year and also doing them a chocolate bouquet for the wow factor and to bulk up the fact they won't get a huge amount of presents now the stuff they ask for is much more pricey and much smaller to look at
