In message two are the links and info from last year - if anyone has anything they'd like me to amend or add, please do tag me and I'll update.

A reminder not to post affiliate links in the thread but that MN do change amazon links shared by posters into MN affiliate links.

Please do watch the thread rather than post to mark place to make it easier for everyone to keep up and find relevant info.

I got the bubble tea sets that have been pictured. I got them in tescos in the tea aisle and they were dated to August 2024. Can't remember who asked

Yeknom · 05/10/2023 15:03

Unfortunately no bargains to report...but I'm after advice...any idea on how to get the red clearance labels off TK Maxx items? They seem to leave a permanent mark which looks awful!

Waterstones has some books at 50% off, including the Guinness World Records 2024 and pre-order of Diary of A Wimpy Kid: No brainer in hardback.

These are the same price on Amazon for those with prime.

paintyhands · 05/10/2023 16:00

Love this thread, thank you. No bargains from me (yet) but I wonder if anyone has seen worthwhile Costco buys? There’s something I’d like so I’m thinking of joining but not sure if it’ll be worth the fee.

Irritatedmum · 05/10/2023 16:02

Looking for a super cheap calendar deal if something comes up over the next month or so. We always do well with those usually!

Also - I picked up a massive plushie handwarmer, brand new with tags, in a charity shop. But the only thing worse than none of something is only one of something, so I need a second one for my other daughter!! If anyone sees a bargain please bear me in mind 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Spaghettihulahoops · 05/10/2023 16:08

@paintyhands the person I know who uses it goes once a month and fills her garage with toilets rolls and wine. I’m sure she buys other things but those are the two she bulk buys. When I’ve been round with her I call it the £10 shop because it is like the £1 shop except everything is 10 x the size. If you shop in b &m or similar I don’t think it is worth the membership.

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 05/10/2023 16:11

@Yeknom you can buy label remover spray on Amazon, would that work? Products Sticker Remover, White, 10 x 10 x 10 cm amzn.eu/d/d8bFW5U This onee* also comes with a scraper!

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 05/10/2023 16:12

Sorry, link isn't working properly from my phone!

AF Labelclene Label and Sticky Stuff Remover Spray with Brush - Dissolves and Removes Sticky Label & Tape Glue Adhesives, Scuff Marks & Wax amzn.eu/d/2zC6sNa

Delahot · 05/10/2023 16:16

@Yeknom try the hairdryer trick on a low setting which melts the glue on the back. Usually get all labels off this way for gifts. TK Maxx stickers are the worst!

Flimpychunk · 05/10/2023 16:41

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good orange blossom diffuser that isn’t pricey?

Luhou · 05/10/2023 17:15

@Flimpychunk I got this scent recently in aldi

@paintyhands I'm obsessed with the place 😂. What are you after? Advent calendars, whiskey, tofu, milk, underwear, diamonds.
It's basically my Disney lol

Dee1224 · 05/10/2023 17:45

Hi, if anyone is near a still open Wilko, they seem to have industrial quantities of bird feeders left at ridiculously low prices. I got a heart shaped wire feeder for fat balls for £1.60 today.

I was going to gift it, but if I can find somewhere to hang it, I think I will keep it.

They also had loads of greeting cards, but none suitable for my family.

On a related note: I feel terrible for Wilko staff - such a shame.

paintyhands · 05/10/2023 17:53

@Moonshine5 I’m after an advent calendar Costco sell so I’d need to sign up to online membership - any Christmas bargains would be great and would justify the membership fee!

MayaTheBusyBee · 05/10/2023 18:48

These are divine. I get them from costco but i have also seen them in amazon

MrsPottsSpout3 · 05/10/2023 18:56

@Yeknom have you got any of the 'elbow grease' spray? Has always worked really well on labels that won't budge for me!

TheGirlWhoLived · 05/10/2023 19:14

If anyone is after the new Percy Jackson book- the cheapest I’ve found it is at the works (£8.50 hardcover)

TheGriffle · 05/10/2023 20:02

I’ve also got a 20% the Disney shop that I won’t use. Pic attached.

@MrsPottsSpout3 How strange that I just logged on and this was the first post I saw. My DH has just made me a bacon bap that had a funny chemical taste to it. Being the greedy pig I am I ate it anyway! Now have very tingly lips and a funny taste in my mouth, that's because we realised the bap had been buttered on the hob top I'd sprayed elbow grease on 🤦🏻‍♀️

Icanneverthinkofausername · 05/10/2023 20:29

Tk maxx labels, some of them have a little drop symbol on them which means they'll come off really easily with water

If anyone has a book-mad recipient, here are some clutch purses/handbags disguised as books on autumn sale:

chillimice · 05/10/2023 20:50

I think Oliver Bonas has glitched.

They have had more sale reductions and I still had the original £5 credit in my account not yet spent so I got a lovely solid sliver ring for £5. I randomly went back and saw another ring, and realised they had put £10 more store credit on my account, so got another gorgeous silver ring this time for £1.50 with click and collect! Both down from £39!!

Worth checking in your account if there's extra money..

Lindt advent calanders £5 on Amazon

Just to be aware, they are tiny (not the normal size balls) and also say delivery 'usually in 1 to 2 months'
