I’m not sure what range your budget is, but think people often subscribe to the Craft gin club to get the first box, then cancel after it arrives (if your parents like gin)

I love these threads - they are my happy place! My 8 year old DS has confidently stated that father christmas will bring him a light up fairy garden that he can have by his bed. Google is not helping me with this - has anyone seen such a thing by any chance?

Can anyone help with LED lamps (like this one)? DD7 would like one, I ordered her a lava lamp last year but decided not to collect it because of it getting too hot. Are these lamps safe for her to have in her room? Suggested age is 8 but no other guidance or reviews to work from.

We always get my parents a trip away to their favourite hotel and theatre tickets for their Christmas. It's a wee quirky place which I bought one year as a surprise and they liked it so much they ask us to do it every year. Between me and my DB.
Maybe something like that or tickets to see someone - we've also got them tickets to see Barbara Dickson live as they love her! That was for birthdays!

I would go for a really nice bottle of wine and some treats for a nice night in.
My DC got DH and I a bottle of Sancerre, a white company winter candle (often on ‘white Friday’ offers in Nov), pipers crisps and a box of 12 luxury chocolates from a local deli last Christmas and it was lovely and very much appreciated.

I stayed up until midnight to book my slot, I'm usually in bed by 10! Looked again this morning and they're all still available apart from Christmas Eve and I didn't want then anyway 😆

Could you find a book of cycle rides in their area or a map with some rides on? Then see f there’s a ride in it that goes past a nice (but reasonable😆) pub that you could get a voucher for lunch do they could do the ride and have lunch en route?
