Just started for my dd yesterday.

Ordered her a pair of Nike Air Max.

Maybe a beauty or chocolate advent calendar for December?

DD likes bath or shower gel, nail polish, string fairy lights, books, hair accessories, water bottles.

purser25 · 24/09/2023 08:14

Would think a phone would be plenty plus some little stocking fillers that she will use

Weacceptvisaandmastercard · 24/09/2023 08:14

Nike air max - my DD would love those too actually DS would and have no idea what to get for him.

i’m late to this but I’ve just discovered Typo and great things in there.

Yes, very much the main thing. Another thing I will get that she really wanted earlier in the year is anything from Sephora.

Mine got a laptop, AirPods and iPad for her birthday and her GCSE results.

The AirPods and iPad were second hand through work/ friend.

For Christmas she has said she doesn’t want anything and she never asked for the above. I think I’m going to get her a subscription to the week to encourage her to keep up with the news on her laptop.

In previous years I put £50 on a costa card so she could go for coffee through the year with her friends.

Depends if yours is in year 11 or year 12.

I also brought her a pair of Clark’s shoes before she went back to school for sixth form they were £90 but the most comfortable pair of shoes ever!!

BlairWaldorfOG · 24/09/2023 08:35

Mine are a lot younger so I may not be any use but my niece is a similarish age, slightly older as this year I've bought her Boxtails Cocktails.

Last year I bought her some Katie Loxton stuff, the notebooks are really nice and the free gift wrapping/ bag was really lovely packaging.

Skinnydip iPad case/ phone case.

Satin pillowcase.

Then when she was 15/16 I bought her some Color Pop make up, the quality was really good.

If it helps 20% off ASOS this morning with the code HAUL.

Weacceptvisaandmastercard · 24/09/2023 08:40

Thank you - I'll check out ASOS

Depends on the 16yr old. My DD is 16 and wants some new dice. Usually buy her lots and lots of books and tickets to something, usually the theatre.

Nearlyadoctor · 24/09/2023 11:23

Mines 16 year 12, she just want surprises. So far I've bought her Chanel Gabrielle perfume that she's been wanting. The new Caroline Hirons skincare book, some claw clips, face masks, new wet brush. A sleep sack from Passenger which can unzip your arms in and walk about in as her and friends did a couple of festivals this summer. I know she would also like a Stanley quencher cup so will probably get that too plus the usual fluffy sock, sweets, chocolates etc.

Nearlyadoctor · 24/09/2023 11:30

Also got some lovely satin pjs last week from M&S charcoal grey with pink stars ( normally buy Victoria’s Secret) and thought that some of the cocktails in can might be good for her stocking .

My dd is a bit younger at 15, but last year I did an explosion Box for her birthday and stuck various gift cards and photos in it. Like this but I got from amazon.

giftyet.co.uk/products/photo-explosion-box

She also liked the bubble panda boxset to make bubble tea at home.

I got her posca pens, sketch books, pencils etc as she's arty.

Oversized oodie hoodie, long hot water bottle and fleece blanket. Big squishmallow for leaning on when in bed on her ipad.

A subscription to crunchy roll to watch anime. If that's not her thing there's lots of subscription services you can do a year upfront for - reading, gaming, TV etc.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 24/09/2023 11:51

Is she into make up? Beauty advent calendar maybe, the Boots one is insane value for money.

DisplayPurposesOnly · 24/09/2023 12:10

Hoodie
Silver bracelet with birthstone charm
Bubble tea kit
Surprise books from A Box of Stories

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 24/09/2023 12:13

Bass guitar
Mr B's Emporium book subscription
Starbucks voucher

Curlyshabtree · 24/09/2023 12:58

My DD is 16 in Feb. The family(me, gps, uncles) are all chipping in for one of those Shark Hair Dryer/Stylers. There’s a sale on at the moment and I saved £70. Still cost £250 though!! Blimey.

ImNotReallyHere · 25/09/2023 15:22

If she likes Sephora, last year they did an after Christmas advent calendar running from 26th-31st Dec. Was a huge hit with DD so hoping they do it again.

£150 cash and a stocking full of Primark beauty supplies.

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 25/09/2023 20:25

OP regards Sephora, they often have a special offer on their beauty box subscription whereby we f you sign up for 12 months you get it for about £8 and you get to choose x 5 items which come in a cute branded drawstring bag.

Take your time looking through as sizes of products can vary.

www.sephora.co.uk/beauty-box-sephora

Then once it's delivered CANCEL IMMEDIATELY!

I make a new email address each year specifically to do this for my DD Grin last years even the cardboard box used for delivery was really cute with branding on if you turned it inside out - so need to wrap up) with some very cute stickers too

Weacceptvisaandmastercard · 25/09/2023 20:45

Love this. Thank you

DD, Y12:
most likely a large number of books. Mix of fiction and history factual ones

After that we draw a blank. She has a still good laptop, got a phone last year and air pods (not apple) for her birthday in July.

She has enough bags and her school bag is also still intact.

I may look into a zipped notebook for her to take to school, need to see what she thinks of them.

She loves jewellery but I need her to tell me exactly what, she has a unique taste.

If she ever sorts out her make up kit, I may buy her new things but I refuse to add to the pile flying around everywhere.

Maybe an experience but we had two for her birthday (one was a present and one in lieu of a party).

Some clothes maybe, again, she has to choose.

DaisyWaldron · 30/09/2023 23:32

DD has asked for a rug for her bedroom, headphones, manga, a floofy petticoat, band/anime merch and a cuddly toy rabbit.

hels71 · 01/10/2023 10:40

Pointe shoes apparently!
