Just got my The Works haul (3 for £15) I ordered a lot of presents for various children (my own/nieces/nephews/friends children etc) and the stuff is great 👍 thank you for the tip on that!
None of it looks £5. Might go back for some more (if the offer is still going) for various children’s birthday parties coming up too!

Ok, so my eldest has hinted that he would like a Switch for Christmas. I’m anticipating one appearing at the top of his list. Inseem
to remember the Switch Lite is not great and that Very often have the best offers. Do I wait for Black Friday or is that a bit late. Also I have Dtwins (4) who will want a go. Oh wise ones! What do I need? I am
clueless. TIA.

I'm after the Hotel Chocolat velvetiser for 13yo DD if anyone knows how to get it for the best price?

@leccybill it's £99 on QVC and they frequently do easy pay so the cost is spread.

Lol.

Identical situation. Older DS wants a switch and will just have to hide it from our DTwins who will be 4 at Christmas Grin

We are hanging about for Black Friday in the hope the oled drops.

Excellent service from Lookfantastic, ordered the Sol de Janerio perfume set for me at 2.30pm and just had an email saying it’s been despatched with upgraded next day delivery!

mummydoris2006 · 25/09/2023 21:19

@LilLauraloo I have just purchased the sol de janerio and a drunk elephant set for DD17 with the discount code thanks 😊.
I did say I was buying her no more as we've just booked DLP as a surprise and bringing her BF too next Christmas 🤦🏻‍♀️. Just though it was such a bargain though and when I went on my PayPal account I had a £10 deposit from postcode lottery so used that too towards payment!

You can get the velvetiser for £69.95 if you create an account. We have one and my 16 year old uses it every morning for coffee and for hot chocolate in the evening

awh she will love that. We are also for Disneyland paris but this December it’s supposed to be their main Christmas present but I just can’t help myself when I see a bargain 🙄

mummydoris2006 · 25/09/2023 21:39

@LilLauraloo I am exactly the same! Disney in December is my favourite, so amazing and magical. Hope you have a fantastic time 😊

MmmALovelyBitOfSquirrel · 25/09/2023 19:15

@WomanOfSteel .... Their customer service leaves ALOT to be desired. I'm astounded they haven't refunded you! That's... omg. I hope you didn't lose out on too much? 01617949213 is the number he called me from, if you want to try calling them to chase it up. That's appalling. I was sure I'd checked TrustPilot but having just looked now... the reviews are awful!
I guess it's a word of warning for others who are thinking of using them... (Don't want to ruin the theme of the thread, that's 3 of us with bad experiences of Online Home Store... back to the toy ovens I'm living vicariously through yous now that I have teens!)

Thanks for that. It’s not too much money luckily, it’s more the principle of them trying to fob me off that made me angry.

Sallylovesdaisy · 25/09/2023 22:12

@MmmALovelyBitOfSquirrel oh no I just placed an order with online home store! Think it's going to be a worrying few days 😬

stimpy1 · 25/09/2023 22:27

I hope this is okay to post. I was in Dunelm today and saw they have started their giving tree again. Basically go in choose a tag, on it will be a present wish for a child or elderly person. Some of the wishes were heartbreaking. A box of chocolates, cuddly toy etc. None of them were huge just little wishes. I got my kids to each pick one that they can buy. My daughter was shocked that a child had asked for a hat and gloves as their wish and frankly it was a good wake up call for my kids to realise how blessed they are. You can add extra bits to what they have asked for and have till early December to take it back. X

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 25/09/2023 22:59

@stimpy1 thanks for sharing this. My family will definitely be doing this and will pick someone each to buy for.

Stripedfluffysocks · 25/09/2023 23:03

Thanks everyone for the Liverpool ideas - I’ve not decided yet but will over next few days.
I laughed at the prime idea just because of something that happened earlier today - it’s like gold dust around here but we’ve had most of the varieties.
Yet when I went to a shop today and saw it just sitting at the till I panicked and bought 6 bottles 🙄🤷‍♀️🤣
It wasn’t until I was in the car I thought why’d I do that and they’re hidden in the boot still till I decide what to do with them.
I didn’t know there were certain colours that were harder to get - wish I’d just gotten one or two of those!! Nor did I know you could get it on Amazon!
Ive never heard of the Giving Tree, what you said about it was very heartfelt, I’ll definitely be making a visit in there with a few kids.

Athlebad · 25/09/2023 23:17

@MmmALovelyBitOfSquirrel I got some lovely thick teddy fleece things - blankets and oversize hoodie - in the Dunelm sale last year. So soft and cosy. I'd definitely recommend buying from them as I looked all over and theirs seemed to be the most luxurious...

This sol de janerio gift set is only £26.86 with code at look fantastic. These smell lovely and are really popular with the younger ones at the moment. I’ve just grabbed one for my niece

@Restlessinthenorth

Sorry the picture didn't copy. Code is LFTASHLEIGH

Thanks for the reminder, we did this last year in lieu of teacher presents for DD’s teachers as they asked for us to do a good deed instead. Some of the requests were heartbreaking - stuff like shower gel, a box of biscuits, handcream 😭 just ordered an oversized hoodie as a birthday present for SIL so will check out the tags when I pop in to collect it.

Beautifulsunflowers · 26/09/2023 07:23

I second the dunelm oversized hoodies. I love mine! It’s probably not as think as a genuine oodie but it does the job! I’m going to get my ds’s girlfriends one this year - just need to decide on colours!!
And with the added bonus of picking up a wish from the tree too - thanks for posting that - @stimpy1
